What is Extended Crafting?
2 parts
Extended Crafting adds new ways to craft items, extra items to craft with, and some handy crafting utilities. This pack ships version 7.0.6 of the mod.[1][2]
The mod doesn't do much on its own. It's meant to be configured heavily, so a pack developer can fit every recipe and setting to the pack's progression. That makes it most interesting for players who want to push into late-game crafting.[1]
The crafting systems
- Combination crafting is a multiblock. You put a Crafting Core in the center and place Pedestals anywhere around it in a 7x7 area. It runs on RF that you feed to the Core.[1]
- Table crafting is a set of four crafting table tiers: Basic (3x3), Advanced (5x5), Elite (7x7) and Ultimate (9x9). Recipes can work in any table with enough space, or only in one specific tier. The tables have their own recipe pool and don't use regular crafting recipes.[1]
- Compression crafting happens in the Quantum Compressor, a high-tier RF machine that takes huge quantities of materials. A catalyst slot identifies the recipe, and the catalyst isn't consumed.[1]
- Ender crafting uses an Ender Crafter plus Ender Alternators within a 7x7x7 area around it. These are timed recipes, and more Alternators make them faster.[1]
- Flux crafting works the same way with a Flux Crafter and Flux Alternators, but it's powered by FE.[1]
Singularities and extras
Singularities are highly compressed materials made in the Quantum Compressor. The mod also adds an Ultimate Singularity, crafted by placing one of each singularity in an Ultimate Crafting Table.[1]
There's also a Handheld Crafting Table for on-the-go crafting. The mod comes with an in-game guide book that has entries on combination, compression, ender and flux crafting, tables, singularities and the handheld table.[1][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11]
Unverified The sources I have don't confirm how this pack changes the mod's recipes, configs or progression placement, so check the recipe pages for the exact in-pack versions rather than assuming mod defaults.
How do you get started with Extended Crafting?
5 parts
Extended Crafting doesn't do much on its own. It is built to be configured heavily by the modpack, so the recipes you follow here are this pack's versions, and several of them differ from the mod's defaults. Here's the order I'd tackle things in.[1][12]
Step 1: Black iron
Start with Black Iron Ingot and Black Iron Slate. Both are ingredients in several of this pack's recipes, including the components and tables below, so make a few of each before anything else.[12]

Step 2: Your first component and catalyst
Next come the Basic Component and the Basic Catalyst. The Basic Crafting Table needs both, so they're your first real milestone.[12]

Step 3: The Basic Crafting Table
The Basic Crafting Table is the first tier of the table system, with a 3x3 grid. The pack changed its recipe, so check the block below rather than any other guide you've seen.[1][12]

Step 4: Automate it and climb the tiers
Once you have a table, the Basic Auto Crafting Table is the natural upgrade. The pack changed this recipe too. In the auto table's interface you can toggle auto crafting, and Shift + Left Click saves or deletes a recipe.[12][13]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: extendedcrafting:basic_auto_table
The tiers go Basic (3x3), Advanced (5x5), Elite (7x7) and Ultimate (9x9). In this pack the Advanced and Elite tables and their auto versions all have changed recipes, and each one builds on the tier below it, so don't skip ahead.[1][12]

Recipe id: extendedcrafting:advanced_table
Step 5: The bigger crafting setups
After the tables, the pack has changed the recipes for three other machines: the Crafting Core, the Quantum Compressor and the Ender Crafter. The Crafting Core sits in the middle of a combination crafting setup, with pedestals anywhere around it in a 7x7 area, and it uses RF. The Ender Crafter does timed crafting, and it gets faster with more Ender Alternator blocks within 7x7x7 of it.[1][12]

Unverified The sources I have don't show how to obtain Luminessence or Crystaltine Ingots, which the component recipes depend on, and no quests in this pack involve this mod. Check JEI in game for those. This site does hold All the Mods 10: To the Sky's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How does Extended Crafting work?
7 parts
Extended Crafting adds new ways to craft, plus the items and utilities that go with them. The mod does very little on its own and is meant to be configured heavily to fit the modpack it's in. So the numbers below are the ones this pack uses, not just mod defaults. For the power values listed here, the pack keeps the mod's defaults.[1][14]
Combination crafting (Crafting Core)
Combination crafting is a multiblock. The Crafting Core sits in the center, and Pedestals go anywhere around it within a 7x7 area. It's switched on in this pack through [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Combination Crafting.enabled]].[1][14]
- Place the Crafting Core in the middle and put your Pedestals around it, inside the 7x7 area.[1]
- Give the Crafting Core power. Combination crafting runs on energy that you feed straight into the core.[1]
- Put the input item on top of the Crafting Core and the other recipe items on the Pedestals.[1]
- Right-click any side except the top to open a GUI that shows the current setup and recipe.[1]
Craft speed depends on the recipe's energy cost divided by its energy rate. In this pack the core holds 5,000,000 FE ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Combination Crafting.powerCapacity]]) and uses 500 FE/t by default when crafting ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Combination Crafting.powerRate]]).[1][14]

Table crafting
Table crafting is a tiered set of crafting tables: Basic (3x3), Advanced (5x5), Elite (7x7) and Ultimate (9x9). A recipe is either tier independent, so it works in any table with enough space, or tier dependent, so it only works in the tier it names. If a recipe needs a higher table, the tooltip tells you which tier it requires.[1][13]
These tables normally have their own recipe pool and don't use regular crafting recipes. This pack turns on [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.useVanillaRecipes]], so the Basic Crafting Table also inherits vanilla crafting recipes. The pack also changed the recipes for the Basic and Advanced tables.[1][12][14]
Auto crafting tables
The auto tables, such as the Basic Auto Crafting Table and Advanced Auto Crafting Table, are enabled in this pack. In the interface, Shift + Left Click saves the current recipe, and Shift + Left Click on a saved recipe deletes it. There is also a Toggle Auto Crafting button.[12][13][14]
- Energy storage starts at 500,000 FE for the base tier, and each higher tier holds double the previous one ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTablePowerCapacity]]).[14]
- Crafting uses 500 FE ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTablePowerRate]]), and auto-inserting items uses 100 FE ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTableInsertPowerRate]]).[14]
- One craft takes 20 ticks at the base tier. Higher tiers multiply that time by their tier number ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTableTimeRequired]]).[14]

Quantum compression
The Quantum Compressor is a high-tier, energy-powered machine for recipes that need huge amounts of material. Everything you insert goes into a massive internal buffer. A Catalyst slot works together with the material to identify the recipe, and the catalyst is not consumed when the craft finishes. Once enough material is in the buffer, the machine starts using energy and crafts the output.[1]
Speed again depends on the recipe's energy cost divided by its energy rate. In this pack the compressor holds 10,000,000 FE ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Quantum Compression.powerCapacity]]) and uses 5,000 FE/t by default ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Quantum Compression.powerRate]]).[1][14]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: extendedcrafting:compressor
The pack changed this recipe from the mod's version.
Ender crafting
Ender crafting is basically timed crafting. The Ender Crafter uses the power of every Ender Alternator within a 7x7x7 area, with the crafter as the center block. The more alternators in range, the faster it crafts.[1]
- A craft takes 60 seconds by default ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.defaultTimeRequired]]).[14]
- Each alternator speeds a craft by a percentage of the time required. The pack's value is 0.01 ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.alternatorEffectiveness]]).[14]
- The Auto Ender Crafter is enabled. It holds 500,000 FE and uses 100 FE when auto-inserting items ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.autoCrafterPowerCapacity]], [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.autoCrafterInsertPowerRate]]).[14]

Disabled in this pack
For reference, Flux Crafting works like Ender Crafting but is powered by FE. A Flux Crafter draws from every Flux Alternator in a 7x7x7 area around it. Singularities are highly compressed materials made in the Quantum Compressor, and the Ultimate Singularity is crafted from one of each singularity in an Ultimate Crafting Table.[1]
Handy extras
The Handheld Crafting Table is enabled for on-the-go crafting (General.handheldWorkbench). The Recipe Maker is also enabled, with data components on and tags off ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Recipe Maker.useDataComponents]], [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Recipe Maker.useTags]]). The mod describes it as an item for easily making recipes for its tables.[1][14]
How do you progress through Extended Crafting?
6 parts
Extended Crafting progresses through crafting table tiers, and each tier builds on the one before it. The pack has changed the recipes for most of the tables and machines. Everything below follows the in-pack recipes, so trust the recipe cards rather than your memory of the mod's defaults.[12]
Shared materials
Every table tier relies on Black Iron Ingot, Black Iron Slate and Luminessence. These are unchanged mod recipes, so set them up first.[12]

Basic tier
Each tier follows the same pattern: craft a component, turn it into a catalyst, then use both to make the table. The Basic Component uses iron, and the pack has changed the Basic Crafting Table recipe.[12]

Advanced tier
The Advanced Component swaps iron for gold. The pack's Advanced Crafting Table recipe also requires the Basic Auto Crafting Table and the Basic Crafting Table, so build the auto version of the previous tier first. The auto table recipe uses Crystaltine Component and Redstone Component.[12]

How does Extended Crafting work with other mods?
3 parts
Extended Crafting doesn't do much on its own. It's built to be configured heavily to fit the pack it's in. In this pack, three recipes connect it to other mods, and all of them lead to progression items: the ATM Star, the Vibranium Ingot and the Patchouli Guide Book.[1][12]
ATM Star
The pack adds a table crafting recipe for the ATM Star. It pulls together the Ultimate Singularity from this mod with items from Allthemodium (the allthemodium namespace) and from the allthetweaks namespace, such as the Dragon Soul and the Pulsating Black Hole. The recipe block below shows the exact layout.[12]
Shaped Table (extendedcrafting)
Recipe id: extendedcrafting:atm_star
Extended Crafting tables have their own recipe pool and don't work with regular crafting recipes, so you can't make this one in a vanilla crafting table.[1]
Unverified The sources don't say which table tier (Basic, Advanced, Elite or Ultimate) this recipe needs. Check the recipe in-game before you build. This site does hold All the Mods 10: To the Sky's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Vibranium Ingot
The Vibranium Ingot is made through ender crafting, using a recipe the pack added. It combines an Extended Crafting ingredient, the Crystaltine Ingot, with a range of Geore shards, such as the Diamond GeOre Shard and the Uranium GeOre Shard.[12]
Shaped Ender Crafter (extendedcrafting)
Recipe id: extendedcrafting:vibranium
Ender crafting is timed crafting. The Ender Crafter draws on the Ender Alternators in a 7x7x7 area around it, so build your alternators before you start.[1]
Guide Book
The pack changed the recipe for the Patchouli Guide Book. It's a shapeless crafting recipe that uses the Black Iron Ingot, so you need this mod's material to get the book.[12]
Which Extended Crafting config options matter?
3 parts
Extended Crafting is meant to be configured heavily by the pack developer, so it's worth knowing what this pack did with it. Everything lives in config/extendedcrafting-common.toml. The big story is which features the pack switches off. The numbers are mostly left alone.[1][14]
What the pack turns off
- [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Flux Crafting.enabled]] is false, so the Flux Crafter is disabled in this pack.[14]
- [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Flux Crafting.autoCrafterEnabled]] is also false, so the Auto Flux Crafter is disabled too.[14]
- Singularities.enabled is false, so Singularities are disabled. The file still has Singularities.defaultRecipes and Singularities.ultimateSingularityRecipe set to true, and the default catalyst is set to Ultimate Catalyst.[14]
Unverified The sources don't list the mod's own default for the three on/off settings above, so I can't confirm whether the pack changed them from the mod default.
What stays switched on
- [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.enabled]] and [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTablesEnabled]] are true, so the tiered Crafting Tables and the Auto Crafting Tables are available.[14]
- [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.useVanillaRecipes]] is true, so the Basic Crafting Table inherits vanilla crafting recipes.[14]
- [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Combination Crafting.enabled]], [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.enabled]] and [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.autoCrafterEnabled]] are true, so the Crafting Core, the Ender Crafter and the Auto Ender Crafter all work.[14]
- [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Quantum Compression.enabled]] is true, so the Quantum Compressor works. General.handheldWorkbench is true, so the Handheld Crafting Table is on.[14]
- The Recipe Maker is on via [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Recipe Maker.enabled]]. [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Recipe Maker.useDataComponents]] is true and [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Recipe Maker.useTags]] is false.[14]
Power and timing values
Every number below matches the mod default, so the pack hasn't rebalanced any of them.[14]
- Crafting Core: [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Combination Crafting.powerCapacity]] is 5,000,000 FE and [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Combination Crafting.powerRate]] is 500 FE/t.[14]
- Quantum Compressor: [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Quantum Compression.powerCapacity]] is 10,000,000 FE and [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Quantum Compression.powerRate]] is 5,000 FE/t.[14]
- Ender Crafter: [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.defaultTimeRequired]] is 60 seconds per craft, and each Ender Alternator speeds a craft up by [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.alternatorEffectiveness]] = 0.01, a percentage of the time required.[14]
- Auto Ender Crafter: [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.autoCrafterPowerCapacity]] is 500,000 FE and [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.autoCrafterInsertPowerRate]] is 100.[14]
- Auto Crafting Tables: [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTableTimeRequired]] is 20 ticks for the base tier, and higher tiers multiply that by the tier. [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTablePowerRate]] is 500 and [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTablePowerCapacity]] is 500,000, doubling with each tier.[14]
- Singularity defaults: Singularities.defaultMaterialsRequired is 10,000 items and Singularities.defaultPowerRequired is 2,500,000 FE.[14]
What changed in Extended Crafting between versions?
All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.0.2 ships Extended Crafting 7.0.6 for Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod has been in the pack since version 1.0 or earlier.[2]
There are no pack changelog entries for this mod, so the only notable changes I can point you to come from the mod's own 7.0.6 changelog:[2][15]
- Improved performance of the Extended Crafting Table screens.[15]
- Fixed the Ender Crafter and Flux Crafter not always saving their inventory when the grid changed.[15]
- Fixed Auto Crafting Tables not handling stackable remainder items properly.[15]
I don't have changelogs for earlier Extended Crafting versions or for other pack releases, so I can't say what changed before 7.0.6.[2][15]
