What is Cobblegen Galore?
3 parts
Cobblegen Galore adds automated block generators to the pack. This pack includes version 1.21.1-0.2.7. The one you'll meet first is the Stone Block Generator, which makes cobblestone and other blocks without you mining them by hand.[1][2]
Who it's for
It's for you if you want a steady supply of cobble early on. The generator shows up in the opening chapter through the quest "Stone Generator" quest, which unlocks after the Lava and Water quests. So you'll want it close to the start of your run.[2]
How it works in this pack
If you remember the old stone generator blocks that dropped cobble straight into an inventory above them, these work differently. You still need an inventory above the generator to collect the blocks. To get it running, you also need a lava source and a water source on two of its sides. Once both are in place, it starts making cobble.[2]
To get something other than cobble, place the block you want underneath the generator. The quest mentions andesite and obsidian as examples and points you to JEI to see more recipes. You can also upgrade the generators, and the upgrades make them faster.[2]
Where it fits in progression
In the next chapter, "Automating Andesite" quest shows you how to automate andesite. You build the generator the same way, put an andesite block beneath it, and it makes andesite instead of cobble. The quest's tasks also ask for a water bucket and a lava bucket, so you'll be handling both fluids anyway.[3]
How do you get started with Cobblegen Galore?
4 parts
The first thing to make in this pack is the Stone Block Generator. It's the starting point of the whole mod, and the Chapter 1 quest "Stone Generator" quest walks you into it right after the Lava and Water quests.[2]
If you remember the Stone Generator Blocks from ATM9TTS, which just dropped Cobble into an inventory above them, these work a bit differently. You still need an inventory above the generator to collect the blocks, but the generator needs fluids to run.[2]
Step 1: Craft the Stone Block Generator
This recipe is added by the pack, so use the one below.[4]

Step 2: Set it up
- Place the generator and put an inventory directly above it. That's where the finished blocks end up.[2]
- Put a Lava Source on one side of the generator and a Water Source on another. You need both, on 2 of its sides, before it starts making Cobble.[2]
- Want something other than Cobble? Place the block you want underneath the generator. The quest mentions Andesite and Obsidian, and says to check JEI for more recipes.[2]
Automate Andesite
The Chapter 2 quest "Automating Andesite" quest shows how to automate Andesite. Build the generator as usual, but put an Andesite block beneath it and it makes Andesite instead of Cobble. That means you can stop collecting it by hand.[3]
Upgrade for speed
Upgrading a generator only makes it faster. The upgrade tiers, in the order the pack's recipes chain them, are Stone, Copper, Iron, Gold, Emerald, Diamond and Netherite. Each tier is crafted from the generator one step below it. The first upgrade is the Copper Block Generator:[2][4]

The later tiers are the Iron Block Generator, Gold Block Generator, Emerald Block Generator, Diamond Block Generator and Netherite Block Generator. Their recipes are shown below in order.[4]

How does Cobblegen Galore work?
2 parts
Cobblegen Galore is a small mod built around block generators. In this pack the line-up runs from Stone Block Generator through Copper Block Generator, Iron Block Generator, Gold Block Generator, Emerald Block Generator and Diamond Block Generator up to Netherite Block Generator.[4][5]
The upgrade chain
Every generator recipe in this pack is a shaped crafting recipe added by the pack's scripts, so these are the pack's recipes and not the mod's own defaults. The generators form a chain: you start with the Stone Block Generator, then upgrade it step by step in this order: Copper, Iron, Gold, Emerald, Diamond, Netherite.[4]
Each step up uses the previous generator in the chain as an input, so you can't skip ahead. Every recipe also asks for a lava bucket and a water bucket, and the recipes accept any item from the shared lava and water bucket tags. Here are all the recipes in order.[4]

Source blocks
The mod's recipe viewer text includes the line "Source block is consumed". The sources here don't say which recipes or generators it applies to, so check the recipe viewer in game for the exact details.[5]
How do you progress through Cobblegen Galore?
2 parts
Cobblegen Galore gives you one generator line that you climb step by step. In this pack it starts with the Stone Block Generator, and the line runs Stone, Copper, Iron, Gold, Emerald, Diamond and Netherite. Every generator recipe below is added by the pack, so you craft them the pack's way.[4]
Starting out: the Stone Block Generator
The quest "Stone Generator" quest in Chapter 1 is your entry point, and it unlocks after the Lava and Water quests. It says these generators work differently from the Stone Generator Blocks in ATM9TTS, which made cobble straight into an inventory above them.[2]
Crafting Shaped
| any water bucket | any lava bucket | |
Recipe id: minecraft:kjs/cobblegengalore_block_gen_stone
The starting generator, with a recipe added by the pack.
- Place the generator and put an inventory above it to collect the blocks.[2]
- Put a lava source and a water source on 2 of the generator's sides. Once both are in place, it starts making cobble.[2]
- To make a different block, such as andesite or obsidian, place that block under the generator. The quest points you to JEI for more recipes.[2]
The Chapter 2 quest "Automating Andesite" quest shows this in practice. Build the generator as normal, put an andesite block beneath it, and it makes andesite instead of cobble. Its tasks are the Stone Block Generator, a water bucket, a lava bucket and andesite.[3]
Upgrading up the line
The quest text says upgrading the generators just speeds them up.[2]
In the pack, each higher generator is crafted from the one below it, so you work up the chain one step at a time. Here are the in-pack recipes in order.[4]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Cobblegen Galore?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.8 guide
Cobblegen Galore shows up in two quest chapters in this pack. You meet it right at the start, then it comes back in the next chapter with a more specific job.[6][7]
Chapter 1: Starting out
The first quest is "Stone Generator" quest. Its task is to get a Stone Block Generator. It unlocks after the Lava and Water quests.[6]
The quest text says this generator works differently from the Stone Generator Blocks in ATM9TTS. You still need an inventory above the generator to collect what it makes. To get it running, you need a lava source and a water source on 2 of its sides, and then it starts making cobble.[6]
For other blocks, such as andesite or obsidian, the quest says to place that block under the generator. It also points you to JEI for more recipes, and says that upgrading the generators only speeds them up.[6]
Chapter 2: The Cool Parts
The next quest is "Automating Andesite" quest, which comes after the quest called The Cool Parts. Its tasks are the Stone Block Generator, a Water Bucket, a Lava Bucket and Andesite.[7]
The quest text tells you to build the generator as normal, but put an andesite block beneath it. It will then make andesite instead of cobble.[7]
Suggested order
- Do "Stone Generator" quest in Chapter 1 to learn the lava and water setup and get the generator.[6]
- Move on to "Automating Andesite" quest in Chapter 2 and put an andesite block under the generator to make andesite.[7]
