What is Cobblegen Galore?
2 parts
Cobblegen Galore adds generator blocks that make cobble and other blocks for you. In this pack the first one you meet is the Stone Block Generator. The pack ships version 1.21.1-0.2.7 of the mod.[1][2]
How the generator works
If you played ATM9TTS, you may remember generators that just dropped cobble into an inventory above them. These work a bit differently. You still need an inventory above the generator to collect the blocks, but it needs a lava source and a water source on 2 of its sides before it starts making cobble.[2]
Want something other than cobble? Place the block you want underneath the generator. The quest text mentions andesite and obsidian, and says JEI shows more recipes. You can also upgrade the generators, and the upgrades speed them up.[2]
Where it fits in the quest book
You meet the mod right at the start. The "Stone Generator" quest quest is in Chapter 1: Starting out, and it comes after the Lava and Water quests.[2]
In Chapter 2: The Cool Parts, "Automating Andesite" quest comes after the quest called The Cool Parts. It shows a handy trick: build the generator as normal, but put an andesite block beneath it and it makes andesite instead of cobble.[3]
Unverified Whether the ATM Star path uses this mod is not shown in the sources here. That path is laid out in the pack's quest book, so check there.
How do you get started with Cobblegen Galore?
4 parts
Welcome to Cobblegen Galore! In this pack, the first thing you want is a Stone Block Generator. It's the start of the generator line, and every later generator is built on top of it.[2][4]
First: make the Stone Block Generator
The pack adds its own crafting recipe for this block. It's also the task of the quest "Stone Generator" quest in the first chapter, which unlocks after the Lava and Water quests. Here's the exact in-pack recipe:[2][4]
Crafting Shaped
| any water bucket | any lava bucket | |
Recipe id: minecraft:kjs/cobblegengalore_block_gen_stone
Next: set it up
Setting it up works a little differently from a classic cobble generator, so follow these steps in order:[2]
- Place the generator and put an inventory above it. That's where the generated blocks get collected.[2]
- Put a lava source on one side of the generator and a water source on another side. You need them on 2 of its sides.[2]
- Once both sources are in place, it starts making cobblestone.[2]
Change what it makes
Want something other than cobblestone? Place the block you want underneath the generator. The quest mentions andesite and obsidian as examples, and says to check JEI for the other recipes.[2]
The quest "Automating Andesite" quest shows the idea. Build the generator as usual, put an andesite block beneath it, and it makes andesite instead of cobblestone, so you can quit picking up pebbles.[3]
Upgrade your generator
Upgrading a generator only makes it faster, according to the quest. The pack's recipes build each tier from the previous generator, starting with the Stone one. Here's the first upgrade:[2][4]
Crafting Shaped
| any water bucket | any lava bucket | |
Recipe id: minecraft:kjs/cobblegengalore_block_gen_copper
The rest of the line follows the same pattern, and every tier has its own recipe in JEI:[4]
- Iron Block Generator, made from the Copper Block Generator.[4]
- Gold Block Generator, made from the Iron Block Generator.[4]
- Emerald Block Generator, made from the Gold Block Generator.[4]
- Diamond Block Generator, made from the Emerald Block Generator.[4]
- Netherite Block Generator, made from the Diamond Block Generator.[4]
How does Cobblegen Galore work?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.6.1 guide
Cobblegen Galore is a small mod built around block generators. In this pack the line-up runs from Stone Block Generator through Copper Block Generator, Iron Block Generator, Gold Block Generator, Emerald Block Generator and Diamond Block Generator up to Netherite Block Generator.[5][6]
The upgrade chain
Every generator recipe in this pack is a shaped crafting recipe added by the pack's scripts, so these are the pack's recipes and not the mod's own defaults. The generators form a chain: you start with the Stone Block Generator, then upgrade it step by step in this order: Copper, Iron, Gold, Emerald, Diamond, Netherite.[6]
Each step up uses the previous generator in the chain as an input, so you can't skip ahead. Every recipe also asks for a lava bucket and a water bucket, and the recipes accept any item from the shared lava and water bucket tags. Here are all the recipes in order.[6]
Crafting Shaped
| any water bucket | any lava bucket | |

The entry point: the only generator in the chain that doesn't need another generator.

Source blocks
The mod's recipe viewer text includes the line "Source block is consumed". The sources here don't say which recipes or generators it applies to, so check the recipe viewer in game for the exact details.[5]
How do you progress through Cobblegen Galore?
9 parts
Cobblegen Galore in this pack is a simple ladder: you start with the Stone Block Generator and upgrade it step by step through the higher tiers. The pack adds every one of these crafting recipes itself, so what you see in JEI is exactly what you build.[4]
Where the quests come in
The "Stone Generator" quest quest in Chapter 1 is your entry point, and it unlocks after the Lava and Water quests. The quest explains that these generators work differently from the ATM9 To the Sky ones, which just filled an inventory with cobble.[2]
- Put an inventory above the generator to collect the blocks.[2]
- Place a lava source and a water source on 2 of the generator's sides. Then it starts making cobble.[2]
- To get other blocks, such as andesite or obsidian, place that block under the generator. The quest points you to JEI for the full list of recipes.[2]
- Upgrading the generator just speeds it up.[2]
In Chapter 2, "Automating Andesite" quest shows the underneath trick in action: build the generator as normal, put an andesite block beneath it, and it makes andesite instead of cobble. No more picking up pebbles by hand![3]
The tier ladder
The tiers go Stone, Copper, Iron, Gold, Emerald, Diamond, then Netherite. Past the first tier, each generator is crafted from the previous tier's generator, so you can't skip ahead. Every recipe also needs a lava bucket and a water bucket.[4]
Tier 1: Stone
This is the generator the Stone Generator quest asks for, and it's the base of the whole chain.[2][4]
Crafting Shaped
| any water bucket | any lava bucket | |
Recipe id: minecraft:kjs/cobblegengalore_block_gen_stone
Tier 2: Copper
The Copper Block Generator is the first upgrade over the stone generator.[4]
Crafting Shaped
| any water bucket | any lava bucket | |
Recipe id: minecraft:kjs/cobblegengalore_block_gen_copper
Iron tier
Next comes the Iron Block Generator, made from the copper generator.[4]
Crafting Shaped
| any water bucket | any lava bucket | |
Recipe id: minecraft:kjs/cobblegengalore_block_gen_iron
Gold tier
The Gold Block Generator builds on the iron generator.[4]
Crafting Shaped
| any water bucket | any lava bucket | |
Recipe id: minecraft:kjs/cobblegengalore_block_gen_gold
Tier 5: Emerald
The Emerald Block Generator builds on the gold generator.[4]
Crafting Shaped
| any water bucket | any lava bucket | |
Recipe id: minecraft:kjs/cobblegengalore_block_gen_emerald
Tier 6: Diamond
The Diamond Block Generator builds on the emerald generator.[4]
Crafting Shaped
| any water bucket | any lava bucket | |
Recipe id: minecraft:kjs/cobblegengalore_block_gen_diamond
Netherite tier
The Netherite Block Generator is the top of the ladder, built from the diamond generator.[4]
Crafting Shaped

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Cobblegen Galore?
2 parts
The Stone Block Generator appears in the quest book in Chapter 1 and again in Chapter 2. You meet them in that order.[2][3]
Chapter 1: Starting out
The first one is "Stone Generator" quest. Its task is to have the Stone Block Generator. In the chapter it comes after the Lava and Water quests.[2]
The quest text says this generator works differently from the Stone Generator Blocks in ATM9TTS. You still need an inventory above the generator to collect the blocks. To make it run, you place a lava source and a water source on 2 of the generator's sides, and then it starts making cobble.[2]
For other blocks, like andesite or obsidian, you place those blocks under the generator. The quest also points you to JEI for more recipes, and says upgrading the generators will just speed them up.[2]
Chapter 2: The Cool Parts
Next up is "Automating Andesite" quest, which comes after The Cool Parts. Its tasks are the Stone Block Generator, a water bucket (Water Bucket), a lava bucket (Lava Bucket) and andesite (Andesite).[3]
The quest text tells you to build the generator as normal but place an andesite block beneath it, and it will make andesite instead of cobble. That's the same under-the-generator trick from Chapter 1, put to work for automation.[2][3]
