What is Chipped?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Chipped is a building mod that expands the variety of blocks you can use. The project page says it offers over 11,000 unique building blocks, from stained glass variations to concrete, prismarine and gilded blackstone, with many connected textures. It is inspired by the Chisel mod. This pack includes Chipped 4.0.2.[1][2]
You craft one of seven tables, and each one turns various vanilla blocks into their chipped variants. All the tables look different but work the same, so pick whichever fits your build. The pack's quest book gives two examples: the Carpenters Table changes wood and the Glassblower changes glass. It also says 6 of the 7 stations can be turned into a handheld item, and that there are Backpack Upgrades for them.[1][3]
Where it sits in the quest book
Chipped has its own quest, "Chipped" quest, in the "Building Tips" chapter. The chain leading to it is "Building Tips!" quest, then "Tools!" quest, then "Changing Blocks" quest. The Chipped quest comes right after that last one. The quest accepts any of the Chipped stations or handheld tools, including the Chisel and Saw. "Chisel Reborn" quest is the other quest that follows "Changing Blocks" quest.[3]
The Chipped block quests that are shown hang off other building quests rather than off the Chipped quest itself:[3]
- "Chipped Stones" quest follows "Stone Blocks" quest.[3]
- "Chipped Glass" quest follows a quest in "Building Tips".[3]
- "Chipped Lights" quest follows a quest in "Building Tips".[3]
- "Chipped Concrete" quest, "Chipped Wool" quest and "Chipped Terracotta" quest all follow "Colored Blocks" quest.[3]
- "Chipped Metals" quest, "Chipped Gem Blocks" quest and "Chipped Copper" quest follow a quest in "Building Tips".[3]
- "Chipped Logs" quest follows a quest in "Building Tips".[3]
The "Building Tips" chapter has 67 quests, and 28 of them aren't shown in what I have, so check the quest book for those. Nothing in the quests shown marks Chipped as a step on the ATM Star path.[3]
How do you get started with Chipped?
3 parts
Chipped changes the design of blocks, and in this pack you do it through stations instead of a chisel in your hand. There are 7 different stations, and each one changes different blocks. The pack's quest book covers this in "Chipped" quest, which sits in the Building Tips chapter right after Changing Blocks.[1][4]
Step 1: Craft a station for what you build with
Start with one station. The Carpenters Table changes wood and the Glassblower changes glass. All the stations look different but work the same way, so pick whichever looks best in your build.[1][4]
The pack changed the recipes for the Carpenters Table and the Glassblower, so don't rely on what you remember from the standalone mod. Here are the in-pack recipes:[5]

Step 2: Make the handheld versions
Six of the stations can be turned into a handheld item, so you can change blocks without going back to a table. There are even Backpack Upgrades for them. The handheld items in the pack are:[4]
- Saw, made from the Carpenters Table. The pack changed this recipe.[5]
- Chisel, made from the Mason Table. The pack changed this recipe.[5]
- Multimeter, made from the Tinkering Table. The pack changed this recipe.[5]
- Needles, made from the Loom Table. This is the mod's own recipe.[5]
- Watering Can, made from the Botanist Workbench. This is the mod's own recipe.[5]
- Alchemy Book, made from the Alchemy Bench. This is the mod's own recipe.[5]
The pack changed this recipe.

Step 3: Try the pack's Create extras
The pack adds Create sandpaper polishing recipes for Chipped blocks. They turn Mud Bricks into Polished Mud Bricks, and Crying Obsidian into Polished Crying Obsidian. The pack also adds Create cutting recipes for stripped Chipped logs and stems, such as Chipped Stripped Oak Log.[5]

How does Chipped work?
5 parts
Chipped is a building mod. The project page describes it as expanding the variety of blocks you can use in-game, with over 11,000 unique building blocks. The sources for this guide don't describe any machine, multiblock, power, fluid or automation system for it, so this section covers what they do show: the tables, their tools and the pack's own additions.[1]
The seven tables
Everything starts with the tables. You craft one of seven tables, and each one lets you change various vanilla blocks into their chipped variants. They all look different but work the same, so you can pick whichever looks best in your build, or spread a few different ones around your base.[1]
- Alchemy Bench[1][5]
- Botanist Workbench[1][5]
- Carpenters Table[1][5]
- Glassblower[1][5]
- Loom Table[1][5]
- Mason Table[1][5]
- Tinkering Table[1][5]
Pack changes to the table recipes
In this pack the recipes for the Carpenters Table, Glassblower, Mason Table and Tinkering Table are changed from the mod's defaults. The Alchemy Bench, Botanist Workbench and Loom Table use the mod's own recipes.[5]

Create integration in this pack
The pack adds Create cutting recipes for Chipped logs and stems, including Carved Stripped Oak Log, Carved Stripped Warped Stem and Chipped Stripped Birch Log. The recipe dump only shows part of the list, so I can't confirm that every wood type is covered.[5]

Reinforced blocks
The mod's language file lists many reinforced variants, such as Reinforced Iron Block, Reinforced Netherite Block, several reinforced crates and reinforced logs. The sources only name them and don't say how you get or use them.[6]
How do you progress through Chipped?
4 parts
Progression for Chipped in this pack is the single Chipped quest in the Building Tips chapter. The path is simple: craft a station, then optionally turn it into a handheld tool.[4]
The quest
"Chipped" quest comes after the Changing Blocks quest. To complete it you only need to obtain any one item from its list: any of the stations, or one of the handheld items Watering Can, Alchemy Book, Saw, Needles, Chisel and Multimeter.[4]
The quest text sums up the idea: Chipped changes block designs through stations you walk up to. There are 7 stations, and each one changes different blocks. For example, the Carpenters Table changes wood and the Glassblower changes glass. 6 of those stations can be turned into a handheld item, and there are even backpack upgrades for them.[4]
Craft your stations
Every station is made in a crafting grid. The pack changed some of these recipes and left the others as the mod made them. The list below tells you which is which.[5]
- Carpenters Table: changes wood. The pack changes this recipe.[4][5]
- Glassblower: changes glass. The pack changes this recipe.[4][5]
- Mason Table and Tinkering Table: the pack changes both recipes.[5]
- Loom Table, Alchemy Bench and Botanist Workbench: these use the mod's own recipes, unchanged by the pack.[5]

Make handheld versions
Each handheld item is a shapeless recipe that takes its station as an ingredient. Here are the pairings:[5]
- Saw comes from the Carpenters Table. The pack changes this recipe.[5]
- Chisel comes from the Mason Table. The pack changes this recipe.[5]
- Multimeter comes from the Tinkering Table. The pack changes this recipe.[5]
- Needles comes from the Loom Table, using the mod's recipe.[5]
- Alchemy Book comes from the Alchemy Bench, using the mod's recipe.[5]
- Watering Can comes from the Botanist Workbench, using the mod's recipe.[5]

Pack-added extras
The pack also adds Create sandpaper polishing recipes for Chipped blocks. Crying Obsidian polishes into Polished Crying Obsidian, and Mud Bricks polishes into Polished Mud Bricks.[5]
It adds Create cutting recipes for the stripped versions of Chipped log and stem variants as well. Examples include Chipped Stripped Oak Log and Carved Stripped Oak Log. The recipe listing here doesn't show the inputs for these cutting recipes.[5]
How does Chipped work with other mods?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
The main link between Chipped and other mods in this pack is storage. Each of the seven Chipped stations has a matching upgrade item for Sophisticated Backpacks and another for Sophisticated Storage, and every one of those upgrades is crafted from the station itself.[3][7]
The pack's quest book mentions this too. The quest "Chipped" quest sits in the Building Tips chapter after Changing Blocks, and it says there are backpack upgrades for the stations.[3]
Which stations have upgrades
- Alchemy Bench becomes Chipped: Alchemy Bench Upgrade for backpacks or Chipped: Alchemy Bench Upgrade for storage.[7]
- Botanist Workbench becomes Chipped: Botanist's Workbench Upgrade or Chipped: Botanist's Workbench Upgrade.[7]
- Carpenters Table becomes Chipped: Carpenters Workbench Upgrade or Chipped: Carpenters Workbench Upgrade.[7]
- Glassblower becomes Chipped: Glassblower Upgrade or Chipped: Glassblower Upgrade.[7]
- Loom Table becomes Chipped: Loom Table Upgrade or Chipped: Loom Table Upgrade.[7]
- Mason Table becomes Chipped: Mason Table Upgrade or Chipped: Mason Table Upgrade.[7]
- Tinkering Table becomes Chipped: Tinkering Table Upgrade or Chipped: Tinkering Table Upgrade.[7]
How the upgrades are crafted
All of these upgrade recipes are marked as changed by the pack, so go by the recipes shown here and not by what you remember from the mods' defaults. Each one uses the matching Chipped station together with the Upgrade Base (or the Upgrade Base for the storage versions). Here are the Mason Table versions as an example.[7]

The other six stations follow the same layout, each swapping in its own station in place of the Mason Table.[7]
The Building Tips chapter has 41 more quests whose text is not shown here. If you want to know whether any of them touch on other mods, check the quest book.[3]
Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Chipped?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Chipped turns up in two quest chapters: Building Tips and Basic Storage. Building Tips has the main Chipped quest plus a set of quests for individual Chipped block types. Basic Storage has one quest about the Chipped backpack upgrades.[3][8]
Building Tips
The main quest is "Chipped" quest. The path there runs from "Building Tips!" quest to "Tools!" quest, then "Changing Blocks" quest, and then Chipped. The other mods that change existing blocks hang off the same quest: "Chisel Reborn" quest, "Rechiseled" quest, "Framed Blocks" quest and "Camol" quest all come after "Changing Blocks" quest too.[3]
To complete it you hand in any one of these: Botanist Workbench, Glassblower, Carpenters Table, Loom Table, Mason Table, Alchemy Bench, Tinkering Table, Watering Can, Alchemy Book, Saw, Needles, Chisel or Multimeter.[3]
The quest text explains the idea. Chipped changes block designs like the chisel mods do, but through Stations you go to. There are 7 different Stations and each changes different blocks: the Carpenters Table changes wood and the Glassblower changes glass. 6 of those Stations can be turned into a handheld item, and there are Backpack Upgrades for them too.[3]
Chipped block quests
These quests each cover one family of Chipped blocks. Each hangs off a general building quest, so they unlock in this order:[3]
- "Chipped Stones" quest comes after "Stone Blocks" quest.[3]
- "Chipped Logs" quest comes after the untitled log quest, and the book says it adds dozens of new designs for the 10 vanilla logs.[3]
- "Chipped Glass" quest comes after a quest in "Building Tips". The book mentions plain glass, glass with panes and mosaics.[3]
- "Chipped Concrete" quest, "Chipped Wool" quest and "Chipped Terracotta" quest all come after "Colored Blocks" quest.[3]
- "Chipped Metals" quest, "Chipped Gem Blocks" quest and "Chipped Copper" quest all come after a quest in "Building Tips".[3]
- "Chipped Lights" quest comes after a quest in "Building Tips", the light source quest.[3]
Basic Storage
In the storage chapter, a quest in "Basic Storage" comes after a quest in "Basic Storage", which itself follows "Sophisticated Backpacks" quest. It asks for any one of the Chipped upgrades for Sophisticated Backpacks. There is one for each Chipped workbench except the handheld tools: botanist workbench, glassblower, carpenters table, loom table, mason table, alchemy bench and tinkering table. The quest text says they add crafting GUIs for the Chipped workbenches to your Backpack.[8]
Only 35 of the 94 quests in Basic Storage are shown in my sources. If other Chipped quests sit in that chapter, you will find them in the quest book.[8]
