More Red is a mod in All the Mons 1.3.0, where it is version 6.0.0.3. Redstone Wires and Logic Gates (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is More Red?

1 part

This pack ships More Red 6.0.0.3, built for Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod uses the registry namespace morered, and it is present in the pack's mod list from this version or earlier.[1]

The only place the pack's quest book uses More Red is a single quest in the Legendaries chapter. The Meltan quest, "Meltan" quest, asks you to hand in a Red Network Cable along with a Ring Cast, a Salamander Eye and a Black Laser Lens. It unlocks after The Summoning Altar and one other quest.[2]

Where you meet it

In the Meltan quest, the Red Network Cable is one of the pieces you set on the altar. You then run the ritual beside a working foundry filled with molten gold and steel, and the Meltan condenses out of the molten metal. So you meet this mod late in your Pokémon progression, once you are hunting legendaries and mythicals, and not as an early-game tool.[2]

Tip: Craft the Red Network Cable before you start the Meltan ritual, so you are not stopping halfway through setting up the altar and the foundry.[2]

Unverified The sources do not describe what More Red does as a whole, such as its other items, blocks or mechanics. No in-jar guidebook was found for it either. This section therefore only covers how the pack uses it.

Unverified More Red does not appear on the ATM Star quest path in the sources available for this pack, so there is no ATM Star progression step to describe.

How do you get started with More Red?

5 parts

Welcome to More Red! In this pack the early game is about getting a supply of red alloy, building a Soldering Table, and then crafting your first logic parts and cables. Here is the order I would tackle things in.[3]

First: make red alloy

Start with the Red Alloy Ingot. This is one of the recipes the pack changed, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. Use the recipe below as the pack's version. The sources here do not show what exactly was changed.[3]

This is the pack's changed version of the recipe.

Next, turn the ingot into Red Alloy Wire. The wire is an ingredient in the network cables and in the Redwire Spool, so you will want a good stack of it.[3]

Second: build a Soldering Table

The Soldering Table is worth building early. Many of the logic parts have a second recipe with a "from soldering" id, which uses the mod's soldering recipe type instead of a normal crafting grid.[3]

Third: craft your first logic parts

Once you have the table, start with the simple parts. The Diode and the NOT Gate are good first builds. Each has a crafting recipe and a soldering recipe.[3]

The AND Gate, OR Gate, NAND Gate, NOR Gate and Latch follow the same pattern, with both a crafting recipe and a soldering recipe.[3]

Fourth: move on to cables

When you want to run signals over a distance, craft network cables. They come in one recipe per dye colour, and the Red Network Cable is the red one. You can then craft cables into a Bundled Network Cable, which the bundled parts need.[3]

After that, the Redwire Spool and Redwire Post are the next things to look at, along with the Bundled Cable Spool and Bundled Cable Post.[3]

A quest that uses More Red

You will also meet this mod outside redstone work. The Meltan quest in the Legendaries chapter lists a Red Network Cable among its tasks and asks you to set it on the altar, so a spare one is worth keeping. See "Meltan" quest for the full ritual.[2]

How does More Red work?

4 parts

The sources I have for this mod only cover its block names and its recipes, so this section sticks to what you can see there. There is no in-jar guidebook and no config file for More Red in this pack, so how signal strength, timing and cable channels behave in detail is not covered here.[3][4]

Logic gates and parts

More Red adds a whole family of logic blocks: AND, NAND, NOR, NOT, OR, XOR and XNOR gates, plus a Latch, a Diode, a Pulse Gate and a Multiplexer. AND and NAND also come in two-input versions, such as the Two Input AND Gate. There is even a block called the Hexidecrubrometer.[4]

The bitwise family (Bitwise AND, NOT, OR, XNOR and XOR gates, and the Bitwise Diode) sits alongside the plain gates. The sources show recipes for the Bitwise AND Gate and the bitwise diode, and both are made at the soldering table rather than in a crafting grid.[3][4]

Two ways to make a gate

The AND gate, the two-input AND gate and the diode each have two recipes in the pack: a normal crafting recipe and a soldering recipe. The mod has a Soldering category and a Soldering Table block. Here are the AND gate and the diode as examples.[3][4]

Unverified How the Soldering Table screen works (where you put the items and how the result is taken out) is not described in the sources available for this pack.

Red alloy and plates

The Red Alloy Ingot recipe was changed by the pack, so do not rely on the mod's default. Check the in-pack recipe below. The recipe is shapeless, so ingredient positions do not matter.[3]

The Stone Plate is made by stonecutting. A smooth stone block gives 8 plates, and a smooth stone slab gives 4.[3]

Cables and bundled cables

Network cables come in a full range of dye colours, each with its own block. The dyed cable recipes make 8 cables per craft. The Black Network Cable is a good example.[3][4]

The Bundled Cable Post, the Bundled Cable Relay Plate and the Bundled Cable Spool all have crafting recipes in the pack that use bundled cable. The mod also has Redwire Post, Redwire Post Plate and Redwire Post Relay Plate blocks and a Redwire Spool item, but their recipes are not in the sources.[3][4]

How do you progress through More Red?

6 parts

More Red doesn't have its own quest chain in this pack, so there's no questbook ladder to follow. The tiers below come from the in-pack recipes, which show a clear order of what unlocks what.[2][3]

Tier 1: Red alloy

Everything starts with the Red Alloy Ingot. The pack changed this recipe from the mod's own version, so don't rely on what you remember from other packs. The recipe below is the one that counts here.[3]

Tier 2: Soldering Table and basic gates

Next, build the Soldering Table. It unlocks a second way to make most of the mod's logic parts.[3]

Where the quests touch the mod

The only quest in the sources that uses More Red is "Meltan" quest in the Legendaries chapter. One of its tasks is a Red Network Cable, so you only need the network cable tier for it. The wiring tiers beyond that are optional for this quest.[2]

Unverified Whether any other quest in the pack requires More Red items is not confirmed by the available sources.

How does More Red work with other mods?

1 part

The sources confirm one place where More Red connects to other mods in this pack: a custom altar ritual that produces a Pokémon. No other recipe or quest in the sources uses More Red items, so this section stays short.[2][3]

Meltan ritual

The Red Network Cable is one of the ingredients in the pack's Meltan recipe. It is a Summoning Rituals altar recipe that the pack added itself. The other ingredients come from other mods: Salamander's Eye, Black Laser Lens and Ring Cast. The recipe below shows the exact in-pack setup.[3]

Pokemon ModelAdded by the pack

Altar (summoningrituals)

Recipe id: allthemons:meltan

Altar ritual added by the pack.

The quest "Meltan" quest in the Legendaries chapter covers this ritual. It comes after The Summoning Altar quest and has you bring the cable together with the other ritual items. Its text says Meltan is not found in the wild and has to be forged.[2]

The quest text says to run the ritual beside a working foundry filled with molten gold and steel, and that the Meltan condenses straight out of the molten metal. It also suggests catching more than one, since a single Meltan is only the start.[2]

Tip: Set up the foundry with molten gold and steel before you start the ritual. The quest says it needs to be working and filled when you run it.[2]

Which All the Mons quests use More Red?

1 part

In the pack's quest book, this mod shows up in the Legendaries chapter, through its Red Network Cable. That makes this a short section, but it's a fun quest.[2]

Legendaries: Meltan

The quest "Meltan" quest sits in the Alola group and asks you to forge the Pokémon instead of finding it in the wild. It comes after The Summoning Altar and a second prerequisite quest. The quest source lists that second quest only by its ID, 0D8C93346B6F70C1, so I can't say what it asks for.[2]

The quest's item tasks are these, followed by a custom task:[2]

The quest text walks you through the ritual. You set the Salamander Eye, the Black Laser Lens and the Red Network Cable on the altar, and finally add the Ring Cast. Then you run the ritual beside a working foundry filled with molten gold and steel, and the Meltan condenses straight out of the molten metal.[2]

Once you catch your first Meltan, the quest tells you to gather more, because a single one is only the start of something far larger.[2]
