What is Jonn's Trophies?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.0 guide

Jonn's Trophies is included in this pack as version 1.21.1-2.5.0, and it has been part of the pack since version 2.25 or earlier.[1]

Unverified We don't yet have reliable details on what Jonn's Trophies does, who it's aimed at, or which items and blocks it adds. Your best bet for now is to look it up in-game with a recipe viewer. This site does hold All the Mons's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

Unverified Jonn's Trophies doesn't appear to be on the ATM Star path or in any of this pack's quests, so it's probably an optional side feature rather than part of the main progression.

How do you get started with Jonn's Trophies?

2 parts

In this pack, the config has a Trophy dropping from mobs that you kill yourself, so your first step is simply going out and hunting.[2][3]

Your first steps, in order

  1. Kill mobs yourself. General.dropFromMobs is on, and the drop chance for a normal mob is 0.02 (set by General.dropChanceMobs), so expect to need patience.[3]
  2. Go after bosses when you can. A boss killed by a player has a drop chance of 0.2 (General.dropChanceBoss), much better than a normal mob.[3]
  3. Bring a weapon with Looting. General.applyLooting is true in this pack, so the Looting enchant raises the drop chance.[3]
  4. Do the killing by hand, not with machines. General.allowFakePlayer is false, so fake players (machines) don't get trophy drops.[3]
  5. Use the trophy screen to tweak your trophy. You can change its pose (Standing, Sitting or Flying), its size, its Y offset and its rotation, then press Apply.[2]
Tip: You don't need to be an operator to adjust a trophy. General.allowNonOpEdit is true in this pack, so non opped players can change a trophy's settings.[3]

What a dropped trophy looks like

Trophies that drop from mobs use the base block from General.defaultBaseBlock, which is set to a smooth stone slab. They start at a size of 0.5 (General.defaultScale) and a Y offset of 0.5 (General.defaultYOffset).[3]

The config note for General.defaultYOffset says that if the base block is a full block, the Y offset should be 1.0, for slabs 0.5 and for carpets 0.1. This pack uses a slab, which matches the 0.5 it sets.[3]

You can scale a trophy up to 20 (General.maxSize) and raise its Y offset up to 2,000 (General.maxYOffset).[3]

Watch out: Don't count on player kills for trophies. General.dropFromPlayers is false in this pack, and the config marks that feature as work in progress.[3]

Unverified The sources here show no crafting recipe that produces trophies and no quest in this pack that involves the mod, so how to make a trophy by hand, or any quest book guidance for it, is not confirmed.

How does Jonn's Trophies work?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide

Jonn's Trophies adds a Trophy block. The sources for this mod are limited to its screen text, so this section covers only what that text shows about the trophy's settings screen.[4]

The trophy settings screen

The trophy has a screen where you adjust how it is displayed. These are the controls its labels show:[4]

  • Pose: you can pick Standing, Sitting or Flying.[4]
  • Size: a size setting for the displayed trophy.[4]
  • Y Offset: a vertical offset setting.[4]
  • Rotation: a rotation setting that displays its value in degrees.[4]
  • Apply and Reset: buttons on the screen.[4]

Item Trophy in JEI

The mod also has JEI text labelled "Item Trophy", with a slot hint that reads "Any item can go here".[4]

Which Jonn's Trophies config options matter?

3 parts

Everything here lives in General.dropFromMobs's file, the server config for the trophy mod. The numeric options in this pack all match the mod's own defaults, so there's nothing hidden that the pack changed on the numbers. Here's what actually decides how trophies behave for you.[3]

Who drops trophies

Drop chances

  • General.dropChanceMobs is 0.02 for normal mobs killed by a player, which is also the mod default. The allowed range is 0.0 to 1.0.[3]
  • General.dropChanceBoss is 0.2 for bosses killed by a player, again the mod default.[3]
  • General.applyLooting is true, so the Looting enchantment increases your drop chance. If you're hunting a specific trophy, a Looting weapon helps.[3]

Trophy appearance and editing

Tip: The General.nbtMap entry still appears in the file, but its own comment says this setting has moved to a data map. Editing that line in the config isn't the way to change which entity variants are tracked.[3]

Unverified The source only lists mod defaults for the numeric options. For the true/false options and the base block, it doesn't say whether the pack changed them from the mod's defaults.
