What is OmniSequence: Transfinite?

2 parts

OmniSequence: Transfinite adds AE2 systems for material fabrication, molecular sequence rewriting, large-scale computation and high-throughput autocrafting. This pack includes version 2.0.3 for Forge.[1][2]

How the mod flows

You start with the Matter Fabrication Well, then complete stage-one research. After that you choose a branch: the Sequence Array or Omni-Computation. Built-in research takes 30 seconds per round, and finishing stage one once permits stage two. The pack's recipe changes show up in the recipes the in-game guide displays.[2]

The Omni-Computation branch has two parts. The Omni-Computation Core is a constructed multiblock with its own controller and quantum link. The Transfinite Compute Nexus is a single placeable block with no machine screen.[2]

Where the quest book puts it

The pack's quest book covers this mod in the "AE2 Addons" chapter, which sits in the "Storage and Power" group as chapter 15 of 44 and holds 43 quests. The mod's quests share that chapter with other AE2 add-on quests.[3]

The entry point is a quest in "AE2 Addons". It asks you for the well controller, casing, glass, coil, stabilizer and core, plus the four item and fluid ports and the pattern assembly, for example Matter Fabrication Well Controller and Matter Fabrication Pattern Assembly.[3]

Three quests come directly after it, one for each path you can take:[3]

Tip: Research and well recipes follow the same order as the quests: do the well first, then pick the Sequence Array or Omni-Computation branch. The research table in the in-game guide lists mod defaults, and a pack may change them, so check the recipes shown in your world.[2][3][4]

How do you get started with OmniSequence: Transfinite?

6 parts

Everything in this pack's version of the mod starts with the Matter Fabrication Well. You craft its controller, its structure blocks and its ports from base AE2 materials, then research your way to the advanced machines. The quest book tracks this too: a quest in "AE2 Addons" sits in the "AE2 Addons" chapter (group "Storage and Power") and asks for the whole well set, including the pattern assembly.[3][5]

First, craft the controller

The Matter Fabrication Well Controller is the brain of the well. Research belongs to the controller, and a new controller starts at stage 0.[4][5]

Second, craft the structure blocks

Next you need the blocks that make up the chamber: Matter Fabrication Well Casing, Matter Fabrication Field Glass, Matter Fabrication Coil, Low Fabrication Stabilizer and Matter Fabrication Core. Their recipes are shown below. Clear space first: the current chamber needs a 41×41 footprint and 27 blocks of height.[5]

Third, craft the ports

There are four ports: item input, item output, fluid input and fluid output. Their recipes use base AE2 materials and need no research, so you can make them right away.[6]

Build and connect

  1. Place the controller facing the operating side, open it and enable the projection to see missing or conflicting blocks.[5]
  2. Clear any conflicts and press Build. Construction takes materials from your inventory first, then from the connected ME Network.[5]
  3. Hold a port to highlight the valid service sockets on the well, then install it.[5][6]
  4. Connect the formed controller to a powered ME Network.[5]

Run Stage I research

Open the Research page and pick Stage I: AE Material Fabrication. Its first completion unlocks AE recipes such as Charged Certus Quartz, Fluix Crystals and processors, the materials needed for stage two, and the pattern assembly. The guide lists 30 seconds and 256 AE/t for this stage, but it labels those as mod defaults that a pack may change.[4]

Watch out: Research materials must be in your ME network. Your player inventory and the input port buffers do not count as research supplies.[4]

Once Stage I has been completed once, you can make the Matter Fabrication Pattern Assembly in the well. It submits AE autocrafting work to the well.[5][7][8]

Matter Fabrication (molecularmanipulator)

Recipe id: molecularmanipulator:matter_fabrication_pattern_assembly

This one is made in the well after Stage I, not at a crafting table.

What comes next

After Stage I, stage two splits into Sequence Array and Omni-Computation, and both can run at the same time. Sequence Array unlocks the Sequence Array components, the Molecular Sequence Rewrite Array and the Assembler Matrix Sequence Rewrite Core. Omni-Computation unlocks the Omni-Computation Core and its components.[4]

In the quest book, a quest in "AE2 Addons", a quest in "AE2 Addons" and a quest in "AE2 Addons" are all placed after the well quest, in the same "AE2 Addons" chapter.[3]

One thing to watch for: the pack changed the recipe for the Sequence Array Casing, so it may not match what you remember from other packs.[8]

How does OmniSequence: Transfinite work?

7 parts

Everything in this mod plugs into AE2. The Matter Fabrication Well is where it all starts: you build it, feed it research, and it manufactures the machines for the two later branches, the Sequence Array and Omni-Computation. Here is how each part works once it is running.[2][5]

The Matter Fabrication Well

The well is a multiblock that combines material processing, AE autocrafting and research. Reserve a 41x41 footprint and 27 blocks of height, face the controller toward the operating side, turn on its projection to see missing or conflicting blocks, then press Build. Construction pulls materials from your inventory first and then from the connected ME Network. The formed controller needs a powered ME Network.[5]

The controller's quantum slot takes one half of a paired entangled singularity, with the other half in a powered AE2 Quantum Ring. The link adds 512 AE/t of power use and needs a channel. Dismantle removes the structure from top to bottom and keeps the controller, and the controller force-loads its chunks while it is formed or under construction.[5]

The Well, the Sequence Array and the Omni-Computation Core also block natural spawning in their chunks while formed or being built or dismantled. Spawners, spawn eggs, breeding, commands and existing mobs are unaffected, and the protection does not need AE power.[5][9][10]

Ports and item or fluid handling

The well has four ports: item input, item output, fluid input and fluid output. Item ports have 16 slots. Fluid ports have four independent tanks of up to 2,147,483,647 mB each. External automation can insert into input ports and extract from output ports.[6]

An input port's Return to ME button sends its buffered contents back to the network while it is online. Output ports have an Auto Output toggle that starts disabled with no directions selected. Turn it on and pick at least one of the world directions (up, down, north, south, west, east) to push into adjacent containers.[6]

For autocrafting, the Matter Fabrication Pattern Assembly holds 36 AE2 processing patterns that match well recipes. Crafting, smithing and stonecutting patterns are not used by it. Its buffers have no fixed type-slot limit, and each AE key can hold up to 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 units. Finished outputs return to ME automatically, and if the network is full the assembly keeps them and retries.[7]

Its well recipe unlocks after the first completion of stage-one research.

Research and deep research

Research belongs to the well controller, and materials come from ME stock, not your inventory or the port buffers. The server extracts the whole round's cost when you start. Pausing, power loss or structural damage keeps your progress and never charges the same round twice.[4]

  • Stage I: AE Material Fabrication takes 30 seconds per round at 256 AE/t.[4]
  • Stage II: Sequence Array needs stage one completed once and takes 30 seconds at 512 AE/t.[4]
  • Stage II: Omni-Computation needs stage one completed once and takes 30 seconds at 1,024 AE/t.[4]

Both stage-two branches can run at once. The guide describes these figures as mod defaults and says a pack may change them, so check the research screen in your world.[4]

Each default stage supports nine completions. Later rounds cost 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128 and 256 times the base materials. At nine completions the parallel limit reaches 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 and processing time drops to a fixed 1 tick. These bonuses only improve the well recipes that branch unlocked, not the machines those recipes produce.[4]

Molecular Sequence Rewrite Array

The Molecular Sequence Rewrite Array is a single-block autocrafter. It does molecular-assembler-compatible recipes inside the block instead of sending ingredients out to machines. You unlock it with Stage II: Sequence Array research. Connect it to a powered ME Network with a free channel, then insert encoded crafting, smithing or stonecutting patterns.[11]

Its pattern inventory is fixed at 10 pages of 36 slots, which is 360 patterns. Processing patterns are not run inside it, so use a normal pattern provider and an external machine for those. Supported recipes can finish in as little as one tick, limited by ingredients, ME power and output space. Results go back to ME, and anything the network can't take waits in a persistent output buffer.[11]

The Assembler Matrix Sequence Rewrite Core brings the same idea to an Assembler Matrix. It is not standalone: the finished matrix supplies the patterns, network access and structure check. It runs the real recipe logic, so crafting remainders, tool damage and non-consumed ingredients behave normally, and cancelling an AE2 job refunds the unused materials.[12]

The Sequence Array multiblock

The Sequence Array Controller forms a Sequence Array in a 61x61 footprint and a 29-block height. It combines massively parallel AE crafting, per-pattern passive auto crafting, matter sequence rewriting and an optional cross-dimensional quantum connection. Allow 6 blocks below and 22 above the controller. The formed layout keeps its main pattern library in 14 Sequence Array Quantum Crystal blocks, so keep those crystals if you move the array.[10]

The library takes encoded crafting, smithing and stonecutting patterns in pages of 36 slots. The guide says it defaults to 200 pages and can go up to 300 pages, which is 10,800 slots. This pack's config sets sequence_array.pattern_pages to 200. Idle power is sequence_array.idle_power at 128 AE/t, and construction places or removes up to 32 blocks per tick via sequence_array.build_blocks_per_tick.[10][13]

The Auto Crafting tab has its own row of nine dedicated pattern slots. Each slot can have an output limit, where 0 means unlimited and auto crafting pauses at that ME stock level. You can also reserve an amount of each ingredient that must stay in ME.[10][14]

The pack changed the recipe for the Sequence Array Casing, so use the panel below as the truth for this pack.[8]

Matter rewriting and speed cards

The array also rewrites matter. Entropy builds up as it works and is cooled off over time. In this pack's config the entropy cap is 1,000,000 (sequence_array.matter_rewrite.matter_entropy_capacity) and base cooling is 25 per second (sequence_array.matter_rewrite.matter_entropy_cooling_per_second). Each Matter Sequence type is stored independently up to 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 (sequence_array.matter_rewrite.matter_sequence_capacity). Per item, deconstruction adds max(1, total sequence / 64) entropy and rewriting adds max(1, total sequence / 16).[13]

Installed speed cards set the batch cycle, how many operations run together, and the cooling multiplier. These are the values in this pack's config:[13]

  • 0 cards: 20 ticks between batches, 1 operation per batch, cooling x1.[13]
  • 1 card: 10 ticks, 2 operations, cooling x2.[13]
  • 2 cards: 5 ticks, 4 operations, cooling x4.[13]
  • 3 cards: 2 ticks, 16 operations, cooling x16.[13]
  • 4 cards: 1 tick, 64 operations, cooling x64.[13]

Unverified Which items can be rewritten, and into what, is set in config/molecularmanipulator/matter_rewrite_rules.json. The sources here do not show that file's contents, so those rules are unverified.

Omni-Computation

The Omni-Computation Core is a floating 65x65x35 end-game crafting CPU. Once formed and online it gives effectively unlimited logical crafting storage and parallelism. It creates virtual CPU lanes and always keeps an idle one free. Real throughput is still limited by ingredients, energy, backpressure and server tick time. If part of the structure breaks or unloads, jobs and progress are kept and resume once the structure is valid again.[9]

Like the well, it has a quantum slot for cross-dimension linking, which costs an extra 512 AE/t and one channel. A wired network and a conflicting remote network can't be used at the same time.[9]

The server config sets how aggressively it dispatches work. Batch dispatch is on (omni_computation.dispatch.omni_batch_dispatch_enabled). The compatibility dispatch time budget is 20,000 microseconds per tick (omni_computation.dispatch.omni_compat_dispatch_max_time_us), shared by all active Omni cores, and it shrinks as server MSPT approaches 45. The call ceiling and work-unit limit are both 2,147,483,647 (omni_computation.dispatch.omni_compat_dispatch_max_calls_per_tick and omni_computation.dispatch.omni_dispatch_max_work_units).[13]

If you don't want a giant structure, the Transfinite Compute Nexus is the single-block version. Place it, connect any face to an ME network that provides power and one channel, and submit jobs from an AE2 terminal. It has no machine screen, quantum slot, pattern library or chunk loading. Its idle power is transfinite_compute_nexus.idle_power at 16,384 AE/t in this pack. Breaking a Nexus that has active jobs gives you an item that carries that state.[13][15]

Tip: Block drops from the well, ports, assemblies, arrays and the Nexus keep their contents and job state. If you need to move anything, break it normally, replace it, and reconnect the structure and network.[5][6][7][11][12][15]

How do you progress through OmniSequence: Transfinite?

5 parts

Progression for this mod runs through one machine: the Matter Fabrication Well. Its controller holds your research. New controllers start at stage 0, and each research branch stores its own completion count. Each unlock opens up the next set of recipes.[4]

The quest book places this in the AE2 Addons chapter (group "Storage and Power"). a quest in "AE2 Addons" asks for the well parts and comes after an untitled quest in that chapter. It is followed by a quest in "AE2 Addons", a quest in "AE2 Addons" and a quest in "AE2 Addons". These line up with the two stage-two research branches, Sequence Array and Omni-Computation, which each unlock their own recipes in the well.[3][4]

Tier 0: building the well

The Matter Fabrication Well Controller, Matter Fabrication Well Casing, Matter Fabrication Field Glass, Matter Fabrication Coil, Low Fabrication Stabilizer and Matter Fabrication Core are all shaped crafting recipes in the pack. The four item and fluid ports need no research either. The recipes are shown below.[6][8]

The Matter Fabrication Pattern Assembly is different. Its well recipe unlocks after you complete stage-one research once. The first quest still asks for it alongside the rest of the well parts.[3][7][8]

The research tiers

  • Stage I: AE Material Fabrication has no prerequisite. It unlocks Charged Certus Quartz, Fluix Crystals, processors and other AE recipes, plus the pattern assemblies. A round takes 30 seconds at 256 AE/t.[4]
  • Stage II: Sequence Array needs Stage I completed once. It unlocks the Sequence Array components, the Molecular Sequence Rewrite Array and the Assembler Matrix Sequence Rewrite Core. A round takes 30 seconds at 512 AE/t.[4]
  • Stage II: Omni-Computation also needs Stage I completed once. It unlocks the Omni-Computation Core, the Transfinite Compute Nexus and their component recipes. A round takes 30 seconds at 1024 AE/t.[4]

Both stage-two branches can run at the same time. The in-game guide gives these prerequisites, costs, durations and unlocks as the mod defaults, and says a pack may change them.[4]

Watch out: Research materials are taken from your ME network. Your player inventory and the input-port buffers do not count as research supplies.[4]

Stage II: Sequence Array

This branch unlocks the Sequence Array components and the Molecular Sequence Rewrite Array. a quest in "AE2 Addons" asks for the Sequence Array Controller, Sequence Array Casing, Sequence Array Phase Glass, Sequence Array Quantum Crystal, Sequence Array Stabilizer and Sequence Rewrite Core. a quest in "AE2 Addons" asks for the Molecular Sequence Rewrite Array.[3][4]

Deep research

Each default stage supports nine completions, counting the first unlock. Later rounds cost 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128 and 256 times the base materials, and every round still takes 30 seconds. Completion 2 gives a parallel limit of 256 and halves the base processing time. By completion 9 the processing time is fixed at 1 tick and the parallel limit reaches 9,223,372,036,854,775,807.[4]

These bonuses only speed up the well recipes unlocked by that branch. They do not speed up research itself, another branch, or the machines those recipes produce.[4]

How does OmniSequence: Transfinite work with other mods?

3 parts

Almost everything in this mod is built from other mods' parts. The recipes in the pack pull from AE2, from the quantum computer parts of Advanced AE and from the Extended AE pattern and assembler matrix parts. The quests for it sit in the "AE2 Addons" chapter, in the "Storage and Power" group (chapter 15 of 44 in the book).[3][8]

AE2 is the foundation

The Matter Fabrication Well starter parts are ordinary crafting-grid recipes made from AE2 materials: the controller, casing, field glass, coil, stabilizer, core and all four item and fluid ports. The ports need no research. The quest a quest in "AE2 Addons" asks for all of these plus the pattern assembly, and it comes after an untitled quest in the same chapter.[3][6][8]

The Matter Fabrication Pattern Assembly is where the well plugs into your ME network. Once the controller is formed and connected, the assembly joins the network automatically. You load it with AE2 processing patterns (it has 36 pattern slots) and request results from an ME terminal. Its buffers accept every registered AE2 resource type, including third-party AE keys, and each key can hold up to 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 units.[7]

Matter Fabrication (molecularmanipulator)

Recipe id: molecularmanipulator:matter_fabrication_pattern_assembly

The input ports have a Return to ME button that sends buffered materials back to the network when it is online. Anything the network can't accept stays in the port.[6]

Quantum computer parts

The Omni-Computation line leans on the quantum computer parts. The Omni-Computation Core uses Quantum Computer Core, Quantum Crafter, Quantum Processor and Quantum Data Entangler. The pack's quest "Quantum Computer" quest in the same chapter asks for several of these quantum parts. The line's own quest, a quest in "AE2 Addons", comes after the Well Casing quest.[3][8]

Matter Fabrication (molecularmanipulator)

Recipe id: molecularmanipulator:omni_computation_controller

Other parts in the line mix Advanced AE with AE2. The Computation Crystal Pylon combines a quantum core with 256k ME Storage Component. The Infinite Crafting Storage Matrix and Infinite Parallel Matrix both use an ME Quantum Ring.[8]

Extended AE and the assembler matrix

The Sequence Array line builds on Extended AE. The Molecular Sequence Rewrite Array needs an Extended Molecular Assembler and ME Extended Pattern Provider blocks. Its quest is a quest in "AE2 Addons", and the Sequence Array parts have their own quest, a quest in "AE2 Addons". Both come after the Well Casing quest.[3][8]

Matter Fabrication (molecularmanipulator)

Recipe id: molecularmanipulator:molecular_manipulator

The Assembler Matrix Sequence Rewrite Core is an upgrade for an Extended AE Assembler Matrix. It is crafted from assembler matrix craft and speed cores plus the rewrite array. It replaces ordinary crafting and speed cores, and it is not a standalone machine: patterns, network access and structure validation come from a completed Assembler Matrix. Once the matrix is online, molecular-assembler-compatible patterns are assigned to this core automatically. The in-game guide says you manufacture it in the Matter Fabrication Well, after completing Stage II: Sequence Array once. The chapter's "Assembler Matrix" quest quest covers the matrix frame itself.[3][8][12]

Matter Fabrication (molecularmanipulator)

Watch out: The pack changed the recipe for Sequence Array Casing. It is built from assembler matrix frame and wall blocks plus netherite storage blocks, so follow the recipe card below, not the mod's default.[8]

Vanilla items show up too: both the Sequence Rewrite Core and the Sequence Array Stabilizer need a Nether Star.[8]

Which Project Infinity 0.1 quests use OmniSequence: Transfinite?

2 parts

The pack's quest book puts all of this mod's quests in a single chapter, "AE2 Addons", in the "Storage and Power" group (chapter 15 of 44 in the book). There are four of them: one gateway quest, then three that the book lists as coming after it.[3]

Step 1: the Matter Fabrication Well

The chain starts with a quest in "AE2 Addons". The book lists it after an untitled quest in the same chapter, and its tasks ask you to submit these items:[3]

Step 2: three follow-up quests

The quest book lists the other three as coming after the Well quest.[3]

Every one of these quests is an item-submission quest, so you need to have the listed items in hand to complete it.[3]

Which OmniSequence: Transfinite config options matter?

6 parts

Two files matter here. The machine settings live in sequence_array.idle_power and its neighbours in config/omnisequence-transfinite-server.toml, while the per-item matter values live in config/molecularmanipulator/matter_rewrite_rules.json. Rule changes in the JSON file are loaded when a server or single-player world starts, so restart the world after editing.[13][16]

Entropy: how much work the Molecular Center can do

Every deconstruct or rewrite adds entropy, and an operation only runs while the current entropy plus the entropy for that item stays within sequence_array.matter_rewrite.matter_entropy_capacity. This pack sets that capacity to 1,000,000, which is the same as the default listed in the config comment.[13][16]

Entropy drains away on its own. sequence_array.matter_rewrite.matter_entropy_cooling_per_second is 25 in this pack (also the listed default), and that base value is multiplied by the cooling multiplier for the number of speed cards you have installed.[13][16]

The entropy cost per item comes from the rules file. Deconstructing costs max(1, floor(the sum of the four deconstruct values / 64)), and rewriting costs max(1, floor(the sum of the four rewrite values / 16)). So rewriting is the entropy-heavy operation.[16]

Speed cards

Each speed card tier sets how many operations run together, how many ticks pass between batches, and the cooling multiplier. The pack's values match the defaults printed in the config comments:[13]

  • 0 cards: 1 operation per batch, 20 ticks between batches, cooling x1.[13]
  • 1 card: 2 operations, 10 ticks, cooling x2.[13]
  • 2 cards: 4 operations, 5 ticks, cooling x4.[13]
  • 3 cards: 16 operations, 2 ticks, cooling x16.[13]
  • 4 cards: 64 operations, 1 tick, cooling x64.[13]

For example, sequence_array.matter_rewrite.speed_cards.card_4_parallel is 64 in this pack. Every card count has its own parallel, cycle ticks and cooling multiplier key in the same section.[13]

Storage, power and size

Omni dispatch

Matter values per item

The rules file gives every listed item four sequence amounts (metal, mineral, crystal, organic) for deconstructing and for rewriting. Deconstruct values are what you get back per item, and rewrite values are what is consumed per copied item. Keys can be item ids or item tags, and leaving out deconstruct or rewrite disables that operation for the item. An exact empty item rule overrides a tag rule.[16]

The pack also gives the Molecular Center's own parts matter rules, such as Sequence Array Casing and Sequence Array Quantum Crystal.[16]

Client options

Matter Sequence tooltips are set to HOLD_SHIFT, so the details expand while you hold Shift. The other modes are DISABLED and ALWAYS_VISIBLE. Dynamic multiblock effects are at level 2, which is the full astral rings and quantum gate.[17]

Tip: If the multiblock effects hurt your frame rate, lower the dynamic effect level in the client file. 0 turns the effects off and 1 reduces them.[17]
