Dank Storage shares the "Sophisticated and Dank" chapter with Sophisticated Backpacks and Sophisticated Storage items. It is chapter 17 of 44 in the book, in the "Storage and Power" group, and it has 104 quests.[2]
The chapter starts with an untitled checkmark quest, and several lines branch off it. The Dank line is one of them. It begins with a quest in "Sophisticated and Dank", which comes straight after that opening quest, alongside the backpack, barrel and upgrade base quests.[2]

Dank Storage in this pack is a straight ladder of seven portable storage tiers, from Dank 1 up to Dank 7. The quest book follows the same ladder, so you can work through it one step at a time.[2][3]
The quests live in the chapter "Sophisticated and Dank", in the group "Storage and Power" (chapter 17 of 44 in the book). The chapter opens with an untitled checkmark quest. Right after it, a quest in "Sophisticated and Dank" sits next to the first Sophisticated Backpacks and Sophisticated Storage quests. Each later Dank quest comes after the previous tier, ending with a quest in "Sophisticated and Dank".[2]
Step 1: make Dank 1
Start with Dank 1. It is the first quest in the Dank line and every other tier builds on it. This is the mod's own recipe, which the pack leaves unchanged.[2][4]

Dank Storage is a tiered portable storage mod, and the sources for this pack only cover part of it. What they do show is the tier ladder, how each tier is crafted, one item for copying settings between danks, and one pack rule about where danks can't go.[3][4][5]
The seven tiers
There are seven dank tiers, from Dank 1 up to Dank 7. Each tier has its own container screen named after the item.[3]
Dank 1 is the entry point and is crafted directly. Every tier after it uses an upgrade recipe that takes the previous dank as an ingredient, so you climb the ladder one tier at a time.[4]

Dock, Red Print and controls
The mod also adds a Dock block. The sources only confirm its name and recipe, not how it behaves.[3][4]
The Dock uses the mod's own recipe.
The Red Print item has a tooltip saying it copies frequency to other danks, and that it only works on the same tier. So both danks need to be the same tier for it to work.[3]
The mod registers four keybinds under a Dank Storage category: Construction Mode, Lock Slot, Toggle Mode and Pickup Mode. The sources give only their names, not what each one does or its default key, so check your controls menu.[3]

Most of the Dank recipes are the mod's own. The pack changes the steps up to Dank 3, Dank 4 and Dank 5. Everything else, including Dank 1, the steps up to Dank 2, Dank 6 and Dank 7, and the Dock, is unchanged from the mod.[4]

Which Dank Storage config options matter?
The only Dank Storage config this pack gives us is the client file, config/dankstorage-client.toml. It only controls the item preview on the Dank screen, so it's a visual setting and doesn't change how the storage works.[6]
- client.preview is set to true in this pack. It controls whether the preview of the item in the dank is displayed. The file's own comment says to disable it if you have OptiFine.[6]
- client.preview_x is set to -140. This is the X position of the preview, and it accepts values from -10,000 to 10,000.[6]
- client.preview_y is set to -25. This is the Y position of the preview, with the same range of -10,000 to 10,000.[6]
Unverified Whether these three values differ from the Dank Storage mod defaults can't be confirmed from the available sources, so treat them simply as how this pack sets them.
