How does Compacter work?
6 parts
Same as in the Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 guide
The Compacter is a single machine that crafts storage-style recipes for you. The project page describes it as a block that can quickly craft recipes in a 2x2 or 3x3 pattern, which makes it handy for storage blocks and similar compressing jobs.[1]
Crafting patterns
You choose what the machine tries to do from its GUI. It will attempt to craft the items you feed it in a 3x3, 2x2, 1x1 or hollow pattern, then output the result.[1]
Power and speed
- The Compacter uses FE for every operation, so it needs an energy supply.[1]
- It processes unlimited items per tick, as long as enough items and energy are provided. In practice, power and input supply are your only limits.[1]
Redstone control
You can set the machine in its GUI to work only while a redstone signal is applied. This is useful if you want to switch a compressing line on and off.[1]
Recursive compacting
Recursive compacting mode can also be enabled from the GUI. In this mode the machine tries to combine its own outputs again. The project page gives compressed cobble as an example of where that helps.[1]
Crafting it
The machine has a normal shaped crafting recipe in this pack.[2]
Good to know
- The mod needs BDLib and Scalable Cats Force to run.[1]
- The pack has no config files for this mod, so the behaviour above is controlled from the machine's GUI and not from a config.[1]
Unverified The project page says the Compacter can also uncraft recipes, but the sources do not explain how to set that up. Item, fluid and automation handling (which sides accept input or output, buffer sizes, FE capacity or cost per operation) is also not covered by the sources. A second block called Cobbler appears in the language file, but nothing explains what it does.

Where this guide comes from
Written from what Project Infinity 0.1 itself ships: its files and recipes, the in-game guidebooks and the mods' own pages. Every statement links to the source it came from, and the numbers are checked against the pack before publishing.
