How does Blocks Booster work?
5 parts
Same as in the Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 guide
Block Boosters speed up the tick rate of the machine block next to them, so that machine works faster. The mod's project page describes them as Forge Energy boosters with config options to stop players from wrecking server TPS. In this pack the energy costs are far higher than the mod's defaults, so read the numbers below before you plan a build.[1][2]
The four boosters
There are four blocks: three energy tiers and a mana version. Here are the pack's values, taken from the config file.[2][3]
- Block Booster Tier 1: boost rate 2, using 50,000,000 FE per tick (General.t1_boost_rate and General.t1_fe_per_tick). Its in-game description says it boosts only Top/Bottom blocks.[2][3]
- Block Booster Tier 2: boost rate 5, using 100,000,000 FE per tick (General.t2_boost_rate and General.t2_fe_per_tick). Its in-game description says it boosts up to 6 blocks around.[2][3]
- Block Booster Tier 3: boost rate 10, using 1,009,317,314 FE per tick (General.t3_boost_rate and General.t3_fe_per_tick). It boosts blocks in a cube around it, with a scan radius of 3 here. General.t3_scan_radius accepts values from 1 to 10.[1][2][3]
- Mana Block Booster: boost rate 5, using 50,000 mana per tick (General.mana_booster_rate and General.mana_per_tick). It runs on mana instead of FE, and the project page says it requires Botania. Its in-game description says it boosts up to 6 blocks around.[1][2][3]
Crafting chain
The boosters are an upgrade line. Tier 2 is crafted from a Tier 1 booster, Tier 3 from a Tier 2 booster, and the Mana Booster from a Tier 1 booster.[4]

Controls and the booster screen
Each booster has a screen with a Boost checkbox, and it shows a Disabled state. The energy boosters show their stored energy in FE and the Mana Booster shows its mana. The screen also reports the boost time in milliseconds, and the message "Slow block - not boosting" when the target is too slow to boost.[3]
A redstone signal switches a booster off, because General.deactivate_with_redstone is true in this pack.[1][2]
Lag protection
Several safety systems are active in this pack, so boosters can't be stacked without limit.[2]
- Chunk limit: General.boosters_per_chunk is 5 in this pack, and the allowed range is 1 to 20.[2]
- TPS protection: General.enable_tps_protection is on, and boosters pause when server TPS drops below General.min_tps_threshold, which is 15. The screen then shows "Boosting paused due to lag" and the current TPS.[2][3]
- Slow blocks: General.prevent_slow_blocks is on. A block that takes longer than General.slow_block_threshold_ns (5,000,000 ns here, which is 5 ms) is marked as slow and not boosted.[1][2]
Whitelist and blacklist
You can control which block entities get boosted with two lists. The General.white_list has higher priority than the General.black_list, and in this pack the whitelist is empty. Entries are block ids or block tags.[2]
The pack fills the blacklist with a tag from Mekanism's cardboard blacklist, Mystical Agriculture's ultimate seeds, Industrial Foregoing Souls entries, Avaritia neutron collectors, Project Expansion power flowers and Solar Flux panels. So don't expect boosters to work on those. The project page's default blacklist is different, so the pack's list is the one that applies.[1][2]
Which Blocks Booster config options matter?
4 parts
Same as in the Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 guide
Everything for this mod lives in config/blockbooster-common.toml. The big story in this pack: the boosters cost far more energy than the mod's defaults, while the speed multipliers stay the same.[1][2]
Energy costs (changed by the pack)
- General.t1_fe_per_tick is 50,000,000 FE per tick in this pack. The mod default is 5,000.[1][2]
- General.t2_fe_per_tick is 100,000,000 FE per tick here. The mod default is 10,000.[1][2]
- General.t3_fe_per_tick is 1,009,317,314 FE per tick here. The mod default is 20,000.[1][2]
- General.mana_per_tick, the Mana Booster's cost, is 50,000 mana per tick here. The mod default is 100.[1][2]
Boost rates and range (same as the defaults)
The speed multipliers match what the mod ships with: General.t1_boost_rate is 2, General.t2_boost_rate is 5, General.t3_boost_rate is 10 and General.mana_booster_rate is 5. The Tier 3 scan radius, General.t3_scan_radius, is 3 (it scans a cube, and the allowed range is 1 to 10).[1][2]
Limits and lag protection
- General.boosters_per_chunk is 5 (allowed range 1 to 20), which is also the mod default.[1][2]
- General.enable_tps_protection is on, with General.min_tps_threshold set to 15. If server TPS drops below that, boosters pause.[2]
- General.prevent_slow_blocks is on, and General.slow_block_threshold_ns is 5,000,000 ns. Blocks that take longer than that to process get marked as slow and are not boosted.[2]
- General.deactivate_with_redstone is on, so a redstone signal switches a booster off.[2]
Blacklist and whitelist
General.black_list stops certain blocks from being boosted. In this pack it includes the mekanism cardboard blacklist tag, Mystical Agriculture's ultimate seeds, Avaritia's neutron collectors, Project Expansion's power flowers, and Solar Flux's solar panels, from the basic tiers up to the Avaritia neutronium and infinity ones. It also covers two Industrial Foregoing Souls blocks, the soul network pipe and soul surge.[2]
General.white_list is empty. If you ever add entries, the file notes that the whitelist has higher priority than the blacklist.[2]
