What is AE2 WCWT?
2 parts
AE2 WCWT stands for Wireless Comprehensive Work Terminal. It's an integrated wireless terminal for Applied Energistics 2. Instead of being just a wireless crafting terminal, it pulls several commonly used AE2 addon workflows into one terminal item with a single UI entry point. That means fewer screens to juggle when you're working with your ME network away from base.[1]
What it offers
- An 18-column main ME storage view.[1]
- A built-in pattern cache for temporary pattern storage and batch operations.[1]
- Support for crafting, processing, smithing table and stonecutting patterns.[1]
- An extended UI with multiple side panels, each with its own hotkey.[1]
- Optional-mod integrations that show up dynamically when the related mod is installed. Buttons and panels for mods that aren't installed are hidden automatically.[1]
In this pack
The pack ships this mod as the file wcwt-1.20.1.7-hotfix.jar, and it has been included since version 0.0.51.1 or earlier.[2]
How do you get started with AE2 WCWT?
2 parts
Start with the ME WCWT. Instead of making you carry a separate wireless terminal for each job, it folds several commonly used AE2 addon workflows into a single terminal and a single UI entry point. It needs Applied Energistics 2 and AE2 Wireless Terminal Library to run.[1]
Make the terminal first
Craft the ME WCWT before anything else. It is a shapeless crafting recipe, and this pack leaves it as the mod's own recipe. Once you have it, you get crafting, pattern work and an 18-column view of your network in one screen, which is why it is the natural first goal.[1][3]

Add cards for the panels you want
The terminal has an extended UI with side panels. The ones named in the mod's language file are Advanced Coding, Cosmetic Armor, Curios, Toolkit and Card Box. The mod adds a matching card item for these panels, and every card is its own shapeless recipe in this pack. Some buttons and panels are hidden automatically when their related optional mod isn't installed.[1][3][4]
The Toolkit Card goes with the Toolkit panel, so it is a good first pick if you want your tools in the terminal.[3][4]
Shapeless recipe for the Toolkit Card.
The pack's config sets toolkitSlotCount to 64. The allowed range is 11 to 640, and 11 is the minimum that keeps the dedicated tool slots available.[5]
Next is the Network Tool Slot Box Card. The matching panel is labelled Card Box in the mod's language file.[3][4]

The pack changed the recipe for the Curios Card compared with the mod's own, so don't rely on a recipe you remember from another pack. Use the one below.[3]

In the Advanced Coding panel you get a Cell Editor with options such as Clear, Copy Mode and Partition Storage. Partition Storage fills config slots with the item types already stored in the cell.[4]
One more setting in the same config file: patternProviderActiveRefresh is set to false in this pack, so the pattern management provider list only does one-shot refreshes rather than refreshing actively while it is visible.[5]
How does AE2 WCWT work?
6 parts
The ME WCWT is one wireless terminal that folds several common AE2 addon workflows into a single item and a single UI entry point. Its main view shows your network storage in 18 columns, so you see a lot more at once. It also has a built-in pattern cache for temporary pattern storage and batch operations.[1]

Patterns and the pattern cache
The terminal supports crafting, processing, smithing table and stonecutting patterns. The encoding screen has a Pattern Encoding Area, a Crafting Area, a Batch Processing Area and a Pattern Caching Area.[1][4]
There is a crafting grid lock toggle. When the grid is locked, JEI recipes transfer to manual crafting in the 3x3 grid. When it is unlocked, they go to the pattern encoding grid instead. Check which state you are in before you click a recipe transfer.[4]
- Merge inputs: when on, identical inputs are combined into one slot. When off, they stay separate.[4]
- Pattern multiplier buttons: the MULTI controls offer ×2, ×3 and ×5, ÷2, ÷3 and ÷5, and an =1 reset.[4]
- Item Swap and Fluid Swap: substitution options in the batch controls.[4]
Pattern management
The Management area lets you upload cached patterns to pattern providers. The upload button saves cached patterns to the chosen provider in order, and there is an Enable pattern upload toggle. You can search providers and switch the display between all providers, visible providers and non-full providers.[4]
You can also map a search keyword to a name, so providers are easier to find. The Add, Delete and Reload buttons manage those mappings. A provider can be highlighted, and you can open the machine UI next to it straight from the list.[4]
This pack sets patternProviderActiveRefresh to false. The provider list then only does one-shot refreshes, instead of refreshing continuously while it is visible.[5]
Extended UI panels
Extra features live in side panels, which the mod calls the extended UI. The panels named in the language file are Advanced Coding, Cosmetic Armor, Curios, Toolkit, Card Box and Resonating Overload Encoder, plus a button to close the extended UI. Each panel has its own hotkey. Some buttons and panels hide themselves automatically when the optional mod they depend on is not installed.[1][4]
If you carry other wireless terminals, the terminal can cycle between them. Left-click or right-click switches to the terminal named in the tooltip, and middle-click returns you to the ME WCWT.[4]
Advanced Coding
This panel includes a Cell Editor. Clear empties all cell workbench config slots. Partition Storage fills the config slots with the item types already stored in the cell. Copy Mode decides whether config slots are cleared when you remove the cell. There is also a Pattern Input Direction Editor, with the options Any Direction, Down, East, North, South, Up and West.[4]
Toolkit
The Toolkit panel has dedicated slots for axes, hoes, pickaxes, shovels, swords, an AE cutting knife, an AE memory card, an AE network tool, a wrench such as the AE quartz wrench, and Mekanism's configurator and configuration card. A memory slots mode lets you left-click to remember an item and right-click to clear that memory.[4]
In this pack, toolkitSlotCount is 64. The allowed range is 11 to 640, and 11 is the minimum that keeps the dedicated tool slots available.[5]
Crafting the cards
The pack has recipes for these card items: Advanced Coding Card, Cosmetic Armor Card, Curios Card, Network Tool Slot Box Card and Toolkit Card. The Advanced Coding Card can be made from a Cell Workbench or from Advanced Pattern Encoders.[3]

How do you progress through AE2 WCWT?
7 parts
The recipes for this mod don't split into tiers. The progression is a single step up to the ME WCWT, then optional upgrade cards you craft for it. Every recipe here is shapeless, so the layout in the crafting grid doesn't matter.[3]
Step 1: the terminal
The ME WCWT combines wireless terminals you may already have: the crafting terminal, the plain terminal, the pattern access terminal and the pattern encoding terminal. In this pack the recipe is the mod's own, not a changed one.[3]

Step 2: the cards
Every card is built around an Advanced Card from Applied Energistics 2, combined with another item that decides which card you get. You can make them in any order, depending on what you want your terminal to do.[3]
Toolkit Card
The Toolkit Card needs a full set of diamond tools: sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel and hoe. Have your diamond gear ready before you make it.[3]
Network Tool Slot Box Card
The Network Tool Slot Box Card is made with an AE2 Network Tool.[3]
Cosmetic Armor Card
The Cosmetic Armor Card has a recipe for each piece of diamond armor: helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots. Any single piece works, so you only need one of them.[3]

How does AE2 WCWT work with other mods?
3 parts
The ME WCWT exists to pull workflows from several AE2 add-ons into one wireless terminal. In this pack, the recipes show where that happens: the terminal and its upgrade cards are crafted from items that belong to AE2, its add-ons or vanilla Minecraft.[1][3]
The terminal itself
Two of the terminals you need come from AE2 itself: the Wireless Crafting Terminal and the Wireless Terminal. The other two, the Wireless Pattern Access Terminal and the Wireless Pattern Encoding Terminal, come from the AE2 Wireless Terminal Library, which the mod lists as a requirement. The recipe below shows how they combine into the ME WCWT, so set up the separate terminals first.[1][3]

Upgrade cards
Every card recipe starts from AE2's Advanced Card and adds items from AE2, another add-on or vanilla Minecraft. That is where the cross-mod links in this pack come from.[3]
- Advanced Coding Card has two crafting routes, shown below: one tied to AE2's Cell Workbench and one tied to AdvancedAE's Advanced Pattern Encoder. Pick whichever suits your setup.[3]
- Cosmetic Armor Card has a recipe for each piece of vanilla diamond armor: helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots. Any of them works.[3]
- Toolkit Card is made with the vanilla diamond axe, hoe, pickaxe, shovel and sword.[3]
- Network Tool Slot Box Card is made with AE2's Network Tool.[3]
- Curios Card is the recipe the pack has changed from the mod's own version. It accepts any item from a tag called wcwt:curios_card_ingredients.[3]

Optional integrations
The mod's own description lists several optional integrations: AdvancedAE, ExtendedAE, ExtendedAE Plus, Curios, Cosmetic Armor Reworked, EMI, JEI, NeoECOAEExtension, AE2 Crystal Science, AE2 Lightning Tech and Extreme Sound Muffler. Buttons and panels linked to these mods are hidden when the related mod is not installed.[1]
Among these, the pack's recipes confirm a link to AdvancedAE through the Advanced Coding Card.[1][3]
Which AE2 WCWT config options matter?
4 parts
WCWT has two config files in this pack: a server one and a client one. Everything below is the value the pack ships, so you can check your own setup against it. Saving the client file usually reloads it without a restart, according to the notes on several of its options.[5][6]
Server settings
- toolkitSlotCount is 64 in this pack. The allowed range is 11 to 640, and 11 is the minimum that keeps the dedicated tool slots available.[5]
- patternProviderActiveRefresh is false, so the pattern management provider list only does one-shot refreshes instead of actively refreshing while it is visible.[5]
Recipe transfer and pattern encoding
- enableRecipePullTransfer is true. If you turned it off, WCWT would stop handling JEI/EMI recipe pull and encoding transfers, including preview highlights.[6]
- autoSwitchManualWorkspaceOnRecipeTransfer is true, so a JEI/EMI recipe transfer switches the manual workspace to crafting or smithing when the recipe type is known.[6]
- preferJeiBookmarksForPatternEncoding is true. When JEI transfers ingredients into the pattern encoding area, matching items from your JEI bookmarks are used first, in bookmark order.[6]
- preferFavoritesForPatternEncoding is false, so favorited terminal items are not preferred when a pattern has several item candidates.[6]
- filterGtceuNonConsumablePatternInputs is true, so GTCEu non-consumable item inputs such as catalysts are removed when JEI/EMI transfers processing recipes into the pattern encoding area.[6]
- keepGtceuProgrammedCircuitWhenFilteringNonConsumables is true, so Programmed Circuit inputs are kept in encoded processing patterns even with that filtering on.[6]
- patternMultiplierApplyToEditorProcessing is true, so the batch pattern multiplier also applies to the processing pattern currently in the editor.[6]
- patternUploadFailFallbackToEditor is false, so a failed pattern upload falls back to the pattern cache first rather than the pattern edit slot.[6]
- fillProviderSearchFromJeiBookmark is true, so the EAEP/JEI fill-search hotkey also fills the pattern provider search field from the hovered JEI ingredient or bookmark.[6]
Shift-click behavior
- priorityShiftMoveToToolkit is true: with the Toolkit panel open, shift-clicking eligible non-stackable tools prefers toolkit slots.[6]
- priorityShiftMoveToCardBox is true: with the Card Box panel open, shift-clicking upgrade cards prefers card box slots.[6]
- priorityShiftMoveToCosmeticArmor is true: with the Cosmetic Armor panel open, shift-clicking armor prefers cosmetic armor slots.[6]
- patternManagementShiftQuick is true. Setting it to false would make shift quick moves in pattern management use normal clicks only.[6]
Layout and favorites
- expandToolkitInManagementArea is false, so the toolkit opens in the right-side panel rather than expanding inside the pattern management area.[6]
- favoritedItemsFirst is false, so favorited ME terminal entries are not pushed ahead of the rest.[6]
Unverified The sources don't list the mod's own default values for these options, so which of the values above the pack changed from default is unverified.
What changed in AE2 WCWT between versions?
1 part
Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 ships AE2 WCWT version 1.20.1.7-hotfix. The mod was first included in the pack in 0.0.51.1 or earlier, so you have had it for a while.[2]
1.20.1.7-hotfix
- Fixed a bug where pulling a recipe into the manual crafting area or the pattern encoding area ignored NBT variants. If you pull recipes into either area, this is the fix that matters to you.[7]
Unverified No pack changelog entries for this mod were available, and only this one mod changelog was provided, so changes in earlier versions are unconfirmed.
