What is TrashSlot?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 6.6 guide
TrashSlot is part of this pack's mod list, version 21.1.8, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1. It has been included since pack version 2.25 or earlier.[1]
Unverified The available sources don't describe what TrashSlot does, who it is for, or how it works in this pack. The name suggests a slot in your inventory for throwing away items, but that is unconfirmed. They also don't show whether it has any recipes, config changes or a place in the pack's progression.
How do you get started with TrashSlot?
1 part
TrashSlot is a different kind of first step: there is nothing to craft. The pack's quest "Inventory Trashcan!" quest is a simple checkmark task, so you don't need to hand in any item to complete it. It sits in the "Useful Items & Tips" chapter, which is chapter 18 of 22 in the quest book, in the "Forgotten Knowledge" group.[2]
The quest describes TrashSlot as a way to open a slot in any inventory and delete unwanted items. That is handy in a pack where your inventory fills up quickly.[2]
Your first steps
- Open your inventory and toggle the trash slot on with the Show/Hide TrashSlot keybind. The slot works in any inventory, so you can do this on other screens too.[2][3]
- Delete things with the slot open. You can quickly delete an item with the Delete Item keybind, or remove every item of the same type with the Delete All Items of Type keybind.[2][3]
- If you prefer the mouse, use the Trash Bin icon in the top left of your inventory.[2]
- You can also open the trash with the /trashcan command.[2]
You'll find all of these keybinds under the "TrashSlot" category in the game's controls menu. There is also a Lock/Unlock TrashSlot keybind, which locks the trash slot.[3]
Unverified The default keys for the TrashSlot keybinds are not shown in the quest text or the language file, so check your own controls menu for the current bindings.
How does TrashSlot work?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mons 1.3.0 guide
Nothing in the sources shows machines, multiblocks, power or fluid handling for TrashSlot, so there is no machine setup to learn here. What the mod's language file does confirm is a trash slot on supported screens, plus keybinds for getting rid of items. This section covers just that.[4]
Keybinds
TrashSlot adds its own keybind category, called TrashSlot, with the following keybinds.[4]
- Delete Item: deletes an item.[4]
- Delete All Items of Type: deletes all items of the same type.[4]
- Show/Hide TrashSlot: toggles whether the trash slot is visible.[4]
- Lock/Unlock TrashSlot: locks or unlocks the trash slot.[4]
In-game hints
The mod talks to you with short messages. If a supported screen can have the trash slot enabled, you get a prompt telling you which key enables it. If you toggle the slot off yourself, you get a message telling you which key brings it back. Locking and unlocking also show a message naming the key that does the opposite.[4]
The enableHints option controls this. According to its tooltip, TrashSlot shows a hint the first time the trash slot is toggled off or can be enabled on a supported screen, and setting it to false disables the hints.[4]
If you try to trash something that is protected, you see "Item cannot be trashed!".[4]
Options the mod offers
The language file includes tooltips for several configuration options, which tell us what each one does in the mod.[4]
- instantDeletion: makes the deletion slot delete items instantly, similar to Creative Mode.[4]
- deletionDenyList: a list of items that cannot be deleted, written as comma-separated "modid:name" entries.[4]
- allowDeletionWhileTrashSlotIsInvisible: lets the deletion keybinds work even when the trash slot is hidden. The tooltip says this is not recommended.[4]
- enableDeleteKeysInCreative: makes the delete keybinds work in creative as well. Items are deleted permanently in creative, regardless of the instantDeletion setting.[4]
- enableHints: controls the hint messages described above.[4]
Unverified The values this pack uses for TrashSlot's options, including which items are on the deny list, are set in the mod's configuration, and the sources here do not show them. Do not assume the mod's defaults apply.
How do you progress through TrashSlot?
1 part
Trash Slot has no tiers to climb and nothing to craft. In this pack, the quest book treats it as a simple utility you unlock by reading one quest.[2]
The quest is "Inventory Trashcan!" quest ("Inventory Trashcan!"). It sits in the "Useful Items & Tips" chapter, which is chapter 18 of 22 in the book and belongs to the "Forgotten Knowledge" group. The chapter has 24 quests, mostly handy tools and building helpers. Its task is a plain checkmark, so you don't have to hand in any item.[2]
What the quest teaches you
- Trash Slot lets you open a slot in any inventory that deletes unwanted items.[2]
- You can toggle that slot with a keybind. Once it's open, a second keybind quickly deletes items. The quest text doesn't show which keys these are, so I can't tell you the defaults.[2]
- There is also a Trash Bin icon in the top left of your inventory that you can use instead.[2]
- You can reach the trash with the /trashcan command too.[2]
Unverified No tiers, upgrades or crafting recipes for Trash Slot are confirmed in the pack data, so this guide doesn't describe any.
Which FTB StoneBlock 4 quests use TrashSlot?
2 parts
Trash Slot has just one quest in the pack: "Inventory Trashcan!" quest. It sits in the "Useful Items & Tips" chapter, which is part of the "Forgotten Knowledge" group and is chapter 18 of 22 in the quest book. That chapter has 24 quests in total, mostly handy utility items and building tools.[2]
What the quest asks for
There is nothing to craft or hand in. The only task is a checkmark, so you complete it just by reading the quest and ticking it off.[2]
What the quest tells you
- The mod lets you open a slot in any inventory that deletes unwanted items.[2]
- You toggle that slot with a keybind. The quest text doesn't show which key it is, so check your controls menu.[2]
- Once the slot is open, a second keybind lets you quickly delete items.[2]
- There is also a Trash Bin icon in the top left of your inventory that you can use instead.[2]
- You can reach the same feature with the /trashcan command.[2]

Items and blocks
We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as trashslot, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
