What is TrashSlot?
2 parts
TrashSlot gives you a trash slot in your inventory, so you can get rid of junk without hunting for a chest or a lava pool. This pack includes TrashSlot 21.1.11, the NeoForge 1.21.1 build, and it has been in the pack since version 1.0.3 or earlier.[1][2]
How you use it
The pack's quest text says you can toggle the inventory trash slot with a key while your inventory is open. You can then use a key to throw things away instantly, or to delete several stacks at once. There is also a Trash Bin icon in the top left of your inventory. If you prefer commands, the /trashcan command opens it too.[2]
Where it sits in the quest book
The quest "Inventory Trashcan!" quest covers the trash slot. It lives in the "Useful Items & Tips" chapter, which is chapter 2 of 31 in the book and holds 30 quests. It is a checkmark quest, so there is no item to hand in.[2]
The chapter's intro quest, "Tips & Tricks!" quest, describes the chapter as plenty of useful items and tips for your playthrough. Its neighbours include "Simple Magnets" quest and "Tool Belt" quest, two other inventory helpers.[2]
How do you get started with TrashSlot?
2 parts
Good news: TrashSlot is one of the easiest things in the pack to get started with. The quest "Inventory Trashcan!" quest has a checkmark task instead of an item to hand in, so there is nothing to craft first. You just open your inventory and start clearing out junk.[2]
You'll find that quest in the chapter "Useful Items & Tips", chapter 2 of 31 in the quest book. It sits alongside the other handy tools and tips in that chapter.[2]
Step by step
- Open your inventory. The quest says you can toggle the inventory trash slot from there with a key press, and the same toggle is listed in the controls as Show/Hide TrashSlot.[2][3]
- Throw things away with the delete key. The quest says it gets rid of items instantly, and it can also delete several stacks at once. In the controls, the mod lists Delete Item and Delete All Items of Type.[2][3]
- If you prefer clicking, use the Trash Bin icon in the top left of your inventory.[2]
- You can also open the trash slot with the /trashcan command.[2]
Handy extras
The controls menu has a TrashSlot category with these keybinds: Delete Item, Delete All Items of Type, Show/Hide TrashSlot and Lock/Unlock TrashSlot. Locking is useful if you don't want to delete something by accident.[3]
TrashSlot also shows short hints on screen. The first time you toggle the slot off, you'll see a message telling you which key brings it back. On a supported screen where it can be enabled, you'll get a hint about that too. Locking or unlocking shows a message as well.[3]
How does TrashSlot work?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mons 1.3.0 guide
Nothing in the sources shows machines, multiblocks, power or fluid handling for TrashSlot, so there is no machine setup to learn here. What the mod's language file does confirm is a trash slot on supported screens, plus keybinds for getting rid of items. This section covers just that.[4]
Keybinds
TrashSlot adds its own keybind category, called TrashSlot, with the following keybinds.[4]
- Delete Item: deletes an item.[4]
- Delete All Items of Type: deletes all items of the same type.[4]
- Show/Hide TrashSlot: toggles whether the trash slot is visible.[4]
- Lock/Unlock TrashSlot: locks or unlocks the trash slot.[4]
In-game hints
The mod talks to you with short messages. If a supported screen can have the trash slot enabled, you get a prompt telling you which key enables it. If you toggle the slot off yourself, you get a message telling you which key brings it back. Locking and unlocking also show a message naming the key that does the opposite.[4]
The enableHints option controls this. According to its tooltip, TrashSlot shows a hint the first time the trash slot is toggled off or can be enabled on a supported screen, and setting it to false disables the hints.[4]
If you try to trash something that is protected, you see "Item cannot be trashed!".[4]
Options the mod offers
The language file includes tooltips for several configuration options, which tell us what each one does in the mod.[4]
- instantDeletion: makes the deletion slot delete items instantly, similar to Creative Mode.[4]
- deletionDenyList: a list of items that cannot be deleted, written as comma-separated "modid:name" entries.[4]
- allowDeletionWhileTrashSlotIsInvisible: lets the deletion keybinds work even when the trash slot is hidden. The tooltip says this is not recommended.[4]
- enableDeleteKeysInCreative: makes the delete keybinds work in creative as well. Items are deleted permanently in creative, regardless of the instantDeletion setting.[4]
- enableHints: controls the hint messages described above.[4]
Unverified The values this pack uses for TrashSlot's options, including which items are on the deny list, are set in the mod's configuration, and the sources here do not show them. Do not assume the mod's defaults apply.
How do you progress through TrashSlot?
1 part
Good news: there is no tier ladder to climb with this one. In the pack's quest book, the trash slot shows up in the quest "Inventory Trashcan!" quest, which sits in the "Useful Items & Tips" chapter. That is chapter 2 of 31 in the book, and it holds 30 quests.[2]
The quest's only task is a checkmark, so you don't have to craft or collect anything to finish it. It just tells you how the feature works.[2]
What the quest tells you
- While you're in your inventory, you can toggle the inventory trash slot.[2]
- You can use the trash slot to throw things away instantly, or to delete several stacks at once.[2]
- There is also a Trash Bin icon in the top left of your inventory that you can use.[2]
- You can reach it with the /trashcan command too.[2]
Which FTB Skies 2: Aero quests use TrashSlot?
1 part
In this pack, the trash slot has one quest, and it sits in the "Useful Items & Tips" chapter. That is chapter 2 of 31 in the quest book, so you reach it very early. The chapter is a grab bag of handy items and tips, and the chapter's intro quest "Tips & Tricks!" quest says as much.[2]
Inventory Trashcan!
The quest is "Inventory Trashcan!" quest, and its task is just a checkmark, so there is nothing to hand in. It is an info quest that tells you how the trash slot works.[2]
- While you are in your inventory, you can toggle the inventory trash slot with a keybind.[2]
- The trash key throws things away instantly, and it can also delete several stacks at once.[2]
- There is also a Trash Bin icon in the top left of your inventory that you can use instead.[2]
- You can open the trash too by using the /trashcan command.[2]

Items and blocks
We can't match this mod to the pack's item list: it registers as trashslot, and the pack's recipe dump has nothing under that name. That means we found nothing, not that the mod adds nothing. Search the item browser
