Just Another Grass Seed in FTB StoneBlock 4

Just Another Grass Seed adds the Grass Seed item. The pack ships version 21.1.7 of the mod, using the NeoForge file jags-neo-21.1.7+mc1.21.1.jar.^[1]

Where the quest book puts it

The mod shows up right in the getting_started chapter. The quest "Brushing In The Dirt" quest has no title, and it has two tasks: one asks for Grass Seed and the other is an observation task.^[2]

That quest comes after "The Strands of Time" quest, so you need to finish that one first. The sources I have do not show which quests unlock after the Grass Seed quest, or which group it sits in.^[2]

Unverified The sources here do not show how Grass Seed is obtained or used in the pack. They contain no recipes or config options for the mod, and no in-jar guidebook was found. For those details, follow the getting_started quest chapter in the quest book.

Just Another Grass Seed adds Grass Seed, and the pack's quest book brings it up early. In the getting_started chapter, the quest "Brushing In The Dirt" quest has two tasks: one asks for the item, and the other is an observation task.^[2]

That quest only unlocks after you finish an earlier quest in the same chapter. So you don't need to rush to the grass seed at the very start. Work through the chapter in order and it will come up.^[2]

Unverified How you get Grass Seed in this pack is unconfirmed. No crafting recipe for it was found, so I can't show a recipe block or tell you what to craft. The quest's observation task is also unexplained, so what it asks you to do is unverified.

Just Another Grass Seed is a very small mod, and the only thing I can confirm about it in this pack is what it adds: one item, the Grass Seed, and a family of fake grass blocks.^[3]

There are no machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item handling to learn here. Nothing I have shows any of those systems for this mod.^[3]

The fake grass blocks

The base block is the Fake Grass Block. On top of that there are biome-named variants, so you can pick the one that matches the look you want.^[3]

• Dry and cold looks: Fake Grass Block (Badlands), Fake Grass Block (Desert) and Fake Grass Block (Snow).^[3]
• Forest looks: Fake Grass Block (Birch), Fake Grass Block (Cheery), Fake Grass Block (Dark_forest) and Fake Grass Block (Pale_garden).^[3]
• Wet and jungle looks: Fake Grass Block (Jungle), Fake Grass Block (Sparse_jungle), Fake Grass Block (Mangrove), Fake Grass Block (Swamp) and Fake Grass Block (Ocean).^[3]
• Open and unusual looks: Fake Grass Block (Meadow), Fake Grass Block (Plains) and Fake Grass Block (Mushroom).^[3]

Unverified How the Grass Seed is used, how the fake grass blocks are obtained, and whether the blocks behave differently from each other beyond their names are not confirmed by the sources available for this pack.

Just Another Grass Seed doesn't have a tier ladder in this pack. The only progression tie-in I can confirm is a single quest in the Getting Started chapter.^[2]

The quest

The quest "Brushing In The Dirt" quest sits in the Getting Started chapter and unlocks after another quest in that same chapter. It has two tasks: an item task for Grass Seed and an observation task.^[2]

Because it's in Getting Started, you meet this mod early in your run. The quest data doesn't say what the observation task asks you to look at, so check the quest in-game.^[2]

Unverified No tiers, upgrade steps or crafting recipes for this mod's items could be confirmed from the pack data, so none are described here. How you obtain the Grass Seed for the quest is also unconfirmed.

In this pack, Grass Seed connects to other mods through Unearther recipes. The recipe dump shows several of them that include Grass Seed, and all were added by the pack. They sit under the "archaeologist/dirt" recipe ids and each one takes any brush tool from the common brush tool tag.^[4]

Unearther recipes that use Grass Seed

• The first recipe lists Grass Seed with Andesite Pebble, Diorite Pebble, Carrot, Potato, Wheat Seeds and a brush.^[4]
• The second and third recipes add Industrial Hemp Seeds, Beetroot Seeds, Melon Seeds and Pumpkin Seeds to that list. That is how the hemp seeds from Immersive Engineering connect to Grass Seed.^[4]
• The fourth and fifth recipes list Grass Seed, both pebbles and a brush alongside these Archwood Saplings: Flashing Archwood Sapling, Cascading Archwood Sapling, Flourishing Archwood Sapling, Vexing Archwood Sapling and Blazing Archwood Sapling. That ties it to Ars Nouveau and Ars Elemental.^[4]

Quest connection

Grass Seed also appears in the pack's "getting_started" quest chapter. Quest "Brushing In The Dirt" quest has an item task for Grass Seed plus an observation task, and it unlocks after another quest in the same chapter.^[2]

In this pack, Just Another Grass Seed shows up in one quest, in the Getting Started chapter. It's a short section, because that's the only quest the sources connect to the mod.^[2]

• Quest "Brushing In The Dirt" quest has no title in the pack files. It has two tasks: an item task for Grass Seed and an observation task.^[2]
• It unlocks after you finish "The Strands of Time" quest, so you need to complete that one first.^[2]

Unverified The sources don't say what the observation task wants you to look at, or whether the item task means handing in the Grass Seed or just having it. They also don't list any rewards. Check the quest in-game for those details.

The quest has no recipe attached, so this section doesn't show one. The sources don't mention any other chapters that involve this mod.^[2]
