What is Create: Central Kitchen?
2 parts
Create: Central Kitchen is an add-on for Create that helps you automate food processing, including food from other mods. This pack ships version 2.6.0, which belongs to the redesigned 2.0 line. That line focuses on cooking automation, and the older farming and ingredient features were split out into separate mods.[1][2]
What it lets you automate
- Packagers can unpack ingredients straight into Cooking Pots from Farmer's Delight and its addons, Kegs from Brewin' and Chewin', Chillers and Ovens from Extra Delight, and Casks from Hearth & Harvest.[1]
- Mechanical Arms work with supported Cooking Pots, Skillets, Stoves, Cutting Boards, Chillers, Ovens, Braziers and Casks.[1]
- You can automate servings from Farmer's Delight Feasts and Pies, plus a few dishes from other Delight addons such as Eggplant Parmesan, Pancake Stacks and Festive Chicken.[1]
- Supported Boiler Heaters can act as cooking heat sources, and as active heaters that speed up Cooking Pots and Skillets.[1]
- Farmer's Delight Cutting Board recipes become Create Sawing and Deploying recipes, and Brewin' and Chewin' Keg Pouring recipes become Filling and Emptying recipes.[1]
- Stripping logs can produce Sawing recipes for bark, or for straw from bamboo-like blocks.[1]
The project page lists Create and Create: Dragons Plus as the requirements for the 2.0 line. Which of the supported food mods you actually have depends on the pack's mod list, so check what is installed before planning a kitchen.[1]
Where it sits in the quest book
Unverified The pack's quest book is where a chapter, group and position for this mod would be told, and the sources here do not show any placement for it. They also do not show it being used on the ATM Star path.
How do you get started with Create: Central Kitchen?
2 parts
Create: Central Kitchen is an add-on for Create that gives you more tools and methods to automate food processing from other mods using Create machines. It is less about a new item to craft and more about plugging your cooking setups into Create, so this section walks through what to set up first.[1]
Unverified The sources here do not show any crafting recipes for this mod's items, and they show no quests that involve the mod. If you are looking for a first item to craft, check the pack's quest book and recipe viewer in game. This site does hold FTB StoneBlock 4's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Your first steps, in order
- Get a heat source. A Blaze Burner is a boiler heater, and boiler heaters are valid heat sources for cooking utensils. They also speed up some utensils depending on their heat level.[3]
- Put a Mechanical Arm next to your Stove or Skillet. It can place raw ingredients onto them, and it can take cooked food back out.[1][3]
- Automate cutting. A Mechanical Arm can place a raw ingredient on a Cutting Board, then a Deployer with a knife in Use Mode or a Mechanical Saw can cut it.[3]
- Move on to Packagers. They unpack ingredients into Cooking Pots, Kegs, Chillers, Ovens and Casks. Factory gauges are very useful in the packaging process.[1][3]
- Handle liquids with pipes. A Pipe can insert fluids into a Keg and extract them again, and a Funnel can pull special item products out of a Keg. A Funnel can also take cooked food out of a Cooking Pot.[3]
- Finish with servings. Mechanical Arms can take servings from feasts and slices from pies. The last serving stays in place until a fresh whole food replaces it and returns that last serving.[1][3]
What the pack's config does
The mod can convert recipes from food mods into Create recipes, and this pack's config sets each of the options below to true. That means the Create machines you build in the steps above can take over some of the work those mods normally do by hand.[1][4]
- recipes.convertCuttingBoardRecipesToSawingRecipes and recipes.convertCuttingBoardRecipesToDeployingRecipes are true, so Cutting Board recipes can become Sawing and Deploying recipes.[4]
- recipes.convertKegPouringRecipesToFillingRecipes and recipes.convertKegPouringRecipesToEmptyingRecipes are true, so Keg Pouring recipes can become Filling and Emptying recipes.[4]
- recipes.convertMeltingPotRecipesToMixingRecipes is true, so Melting Pot recipes can become Mixing recipes.[4]
- recipes.convertJuicerRecipesToCompactingRecipes and recipes.convertMortarGrindingRecipesToCompactingRecipes are true, so Juicer and Mortar Grinding recipes can become Compacting recipes.[4]
- recipes.convertToolOnBlockRecipesToDeployingRecipes is true, so Tools on Block recipes can become Deploying recipes.[4]
- recipes.addTreeBarkToSawingRecipes is true, so the generated Sawing recipes for stripping logs can also give Tree Bark, or Straw for bamboo-like blocks.[1][4]
How does Create: Central Kitchen work?
8 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Create: Central Kitchen is a bridge mod. It lets Create's automation tools work with food machines from other mods, such as Farmer's Delight and its addons, Brewin' and Chewin', Extra Delight and Hearth & Harvest. Everything below is about how those machines behave once Create is wired up to them.[1]
Getting ingredients in
Packagers are the main way to feed ingredients in. They can unpack into Cooking Pots (Farmer's Delight and its addons), Kegs (Brewin' and Chewin'), Chillers and Ovens (Extra Delight), and Casks (Hearth & Harvest). Factory gauges are very useful in the packaging process, since they request and package the exact ingredients a recipe needs.[1][5]
- Pipes insert liquid ingredients into supported machines, and they can insert fluids directly into a Keg.[5]
- A Mechanical Arm can insert the food container (a bowl, for example) into a cooking machine.[5]
- A Mechanical Arm can insert ice or snow into a Chiller.[5]
- A Mechanical Arm can put raw ingredients onto a Stove and Skillet.[5]
Getting food out
Mechanical Arms can take cooked food out of the supported machines: Cooking Pots, Skillets, Stoves, Cutting Boards, Chillers, Ovens, Braziers and Casks. A Funnel can also take cooked food out of a Cooking Pot.[1][5]
Kegs and drinks
Pipes can both insert fluids into a Keg and extract them again. A Funnel can pull the Keg's special item product. For serving drinks, use a Spout to fill a Tankard, and an Item Drain to pour the drink back out of it.[5]
The mod also supports freezer sources with Brewin' and Chewin' Kegs.[1]
Heat sources
Boiler heaters, such as the Blaze Burner, count as valid heat sources for cooking utensils. They also act as active heaters: some utensils cook faster depending on the heater's heat level. The mod advertises this for Cooking Pots and Skillets.[1][5]
Cutting automation
A Mechanical Arm can place a raw ingredient on a Cutting Board. After that you have two ways to cut it: a Deployer holding a knife in Use Mode, or a Mechanical Saw.[5]
The Deployer's held item is drawn with a custom transform in Use mode. The pack has renderDeployerUsingItemWithCustomTransform set to true. This is a visual setting only.[5][6]
Automating servings
Mechanical Arms can take servings from Farmer's Delight feasts and slices from pies. The last serving stays in place. A fresh whole food can then replace it and return that last serving.[1][5]
- Dragon Legs are served by Mechanical Arms with Bowls, and the last serving is kept in place.[5]
- Cultural Delights' Eggplant Parmesan: Arms can take plated servings without supplying bowls. The last serving stays until a fresh whole feast replaces it.[5]
- Festive Delight's Festive Chicken: Arms take four plated servings and leave the final leftovers.[5]
- Rustic Delight's Pancake Stacks: Arms can take pancakes from every flavored stack. Only matching pancakes are added, up to a stack of twelve.[5]
Hearth & Harvest Casks
Casks have stricter rules than other machines. They accept a package only if it contains exactly one complete Cask recipe. For example, a recipe panel might request one Salt and three separate Raw Meat ingredients.[5]
Unpacking is atomic, and each repeated ingredient takes its own input slot. After that the Cask uses its normal 1,200-tick aging time and processing rules. Mechanical Arms ignore the aging inputs and extract only the finished output.[5]
Recipe conversions in this pack
The mod can convert recipes from other food mods into Create recipe types, so Create machines can do the same jobs. In this pack every one of these conversion options is set to true.[1][7]
- recipes.convertCuttingBoardRecipesToSawingRecipes: Farmer's Delight Cutting Board recipes that use a knife can become Sawing recipes.[7]
- recipes.convertCuttingBoardRecipesToDeployingRecipes: Cutting Board recipes can also become Deploying recipes.[7]
- recipes.addTreeBarkToSawingRecipes: Tree Bark, or Straw for bamboo-like blocks, is added to the autogenerated Sawing recipes for stripping wood and logs.[7]
- recipes.convertKegPouringRecipesToFillingRecipes and recipes.convertKegPouringRecipesToEmptyingRecipes: Brewin' and Chewin' Keg Pouring recipes can become Filling and Emptying recipes. The mod prioritizes native Create recipes when both exist.[1][7]
- recipes.convertMortarGrindingRecipesToCompactingRecipes and recipes.convertJuicerRecipesToCompactingRecipes: Extra Delight Mortar Grinding and Juicer recipes can become Compacting recipes.[7]
- recipes.convertMeltingPotRecipesToMixingRecipes: Extra Delight Melting Pot recipes can become Mixing recipes.[7]
- recipes.convertToolOnBlockRecipesToDeployingRecipes: Extra Delight Tools on Block recipes can become Deploying recipes.[7]
Unverified The sources don't say whether these conversion options differ from the mod's defaults, or which converted recipes actually show up in this pack, so check the Create recipe viewer in-game. This site does hold FTB StoneBlock 4's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Which Create: Central Kitchen config options matter?
3 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Good news: Central Kitchen has just two config files, and this pack leaves every option you're likely to care about switched on. Almost everything here controls whether recipes from other food mods get converted into Create machine recipes.[6][7]
Common config: recipe conversions
These options live in the common config file. In this pack every one of them is set to true, so each conversion is active.[7]
- recipes.convertCuttingBoardRecipesToSawingRecipes lets Farmer's Delight Cutting Board recipes that use a knife be converted to Sawing recipes.[7]
- recipes.convertCuttingBoardRecipesToDeployingRecipes lets Farmer's Delight Cutting Board recipes be converted to Deploying recipes.[7]
- recipes.addTreeBarkToSawingRecipes adds Farmer's Delight's Tree Bark (or Straw for Bamboo-like blocks) to the autogenerated Sawing recipes for stripping wood and logs.[7]
- recipes.convertKegPouringRecipesToFillingRecipes lets Brewin' and Chewin' Keg Pouring recipes be converted to Filling recipes.[7]
- recipes.convertKegPouringRecipesToEmptyingRecipes lets Brewin' and Chewin' Keg Pouring recipes be converted to Emptying recipes.[7]
- recipes.convertMortarGrindingRecipesToCompactingRecipes lets Extra Delight Mortar Grinding recipes be converted to Compacting recipes.[7]
- recipes.convertJuicerRecipesToCompactingRecipes lets Extra Delight Juicer recipes be converted to Compacting recipes.[7]
- recipes.convertMeltingPotRecipesToMixingRecipes lets Extra Delight Melting Pot recipes be converted to Mixing recipes.[7]
- recipes.convertToolOnBlockRecipesToDeployingRecipes lets Extra Delight Tools on Block recipes be converted to Deploying recipes.[7]
Client config: Deployer visuals
There is one client-side option, and it only changes how things look. renderDeployerUsingItemWithCustomTransform is set to true, which means items held in a Deployer that are in the create:handheld_in_deployer_use tag get a custom transform in Use mode.[6]
Did the pack change any defaults?
Unverified The pack's config files show the values above, but the sources I have don't list the mod's own default values. I can't confirm whether any of these options differ from the mod defaults.
What changed in Create: Central Kitchen between versions?
3 parts
FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 ships Create: Central Kitchen 2.6.0, and the mod has been in the pack since 1.0.0 or earlier. The notes below come from the mod's own changelogs, newest first.[2]
2.6.0 (the version in this pack)
This release requires Create 6.0.10, Create: Dragons Plus 1.11.4, and Farmer's Delight 1.3.2 or newer.[8]
- New optional Cultural Delights integration: Mechanical Arms can serve Eggplant Parmesan Feasts and refresh the final serving with a matching whole feast.[8]
- New optional Rustic Delight integration: Mechanical Arms support every pancake flavor, including matching-flavor refills.[8]
- New optional Festive Delight integration: Mechanical Arms serve Festive Chicken through all four registered stages and leave the final leftover block in place.[8]
- New optional Hearth and Harvest integration: Mechanical Arms and Packagers can load Casks recipe-by-recipe, wait for normal fermentation, and extract only finished outputs.[8]
- Added dedicated Ponder scenes, Arm Targets and High Logistics entries.[8]
- Native Create Filling and Emptying recipes now take priority over Brewin' and Chewin' Keg conversion fallbacks, including in JEI and after recipe reloads.[8]
- Sawing recipes on Farmer's Delight Cutting Boards now use the intended processing duration, and Cutting Board recipes no longer consume reusable tools that cannot take durability damage.[8]
- Create boilers now respect removals from the farmersdelight:heat_sources tag, and Create Packagers can unpack ingredients into Extra Delight Ovens.[8]
- Blaze Burner chef rendering now falls back safely when optional baked model assets are unavailable. A Ukrainian localization was also added.[8]
2.5.0
- Farmer's Delight integration now requires Farmer's Delight 1.3.2 or newer.[9]
- Mechanical Arms can add matching items to Farmer's Delight Cutting Boards in stacks, take servings from feasts and slices from pies, and replace the last portion with a fresh one.[9]
- Mechanical Arms gained support for Ends Delight Dragon Legs (servings with Bowls), My Nether's Delight Blazier and Extra Delight Evaporator. Support for Farmer's Delight stove-like blocks was widened.[9]
- Added a Ponder for serving feasts and pie slices, fixed Monster Pot Arm interaction, and added Bulgarian and Italian localizations.[9]
- Removed the Kaleidoscope Cookery compat, since the Kaleidoscope Compat and Kaleidoscope Cookery: Automation mods provide much more complete integration.[9]
Earlier releases
- 2.4.0: updated for Farmer's Delight 1.21.1-1.3.0+ and the Create Simulated series, fixing various compatibility issues with Farmer's Delight 1.3.0+ and a failed mixin injection.[10]
- 2.3.0: updated for Create 6.0.9, requiring Create: Dragon+ 1.8.7, and fixed a mixin issue that caused a crash when Farmer's Delight was not installed.[11]
- 2.2.6: updated for Create 6.0.8, requiring Create: Dragon+ 1.8.4, and fixed mixin issues that might cause crashes in certain situations.[12]
- 2.2.4: required Create: Dragon Plus 1.8.1 and added Dungeons Delight support. It also fixed the farmersdelight:heat_sources tag misbehaving when the blaze burner is not in it, and Boiler Heats now correctly speed up cooking of the Copper Pot.[13]
