What is Pocket Storage?
1 part
Pocket Storage is a small inventory-management mod, and this pack ships version 1.2.5 of it. Its devices pick up items for you automatically, based on what you place inside them. The pack's quest book suggests using one to keep cobblestone out of your inventory on mining trips.[1][2]
The mod comes as Pocket Storage Units in four tiers: Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 1, Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 2, Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 3 and Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 4. Any one of them completes the quest. Upgrading the tier lets you store more at once.[2]
Where it sits in the quest book
The quest "Pocket Storage" quest is in the "General Storage" chapter, which is in the "Resources & Logistics" group. It is chapter 7 of 31 in the book and has 146 quests. The chapter's opening quest, "General Storage Options" quest, describes the chapter as covering most of the basic ways to store your items.[2]
Pocket Storage shares the chapter with the other storage options: "Sophisticated Backpacks" quest, "Sophisticated Storage" quest, "Ender Storage" quest and the Functional Drawers quests. Those other quests are chained to their own parent quests, such as "Functional Drawers" quest for the drawer upgrades. The book lists no prerequisite for the Pocket Storage quest, so it isn't gated behind any of them.[2]
Most of the chapter's quests aren't shown in the material I have. If you want to know what comes before or after Pocket Storage beyond this, check the chapter in the quest book.[2]
How do you get started with Pocket Storage?
2 parts
Your inventory fills up fast in a modded pack, and Pocket Storage is one of the simplest fixes. The units automatically pick up items based on what you place inside them. The pack's quest book covers them in the quest "Pocket Storage" quest, in the General Storage chapter (group Resources & Logistics, chapter 7 of 31).[2]
What a unit does
Put an item in a unit and it will absorb more of that item as you pick it up. The quest book's example is keeping cobblestone out of your inventory on mining trips. The tooltip on each unit also shows how many different items it holds and how much of each.[2][3]
What to make, in order
- Start with Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 1. It is the base unit, and every upgrade builds on it. The pack changed this recipe, so check the one below rather than relying on what you remember from the mod.[4]
- Move up to Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 2 when one tier no longer holds enough. It is an upgrade recipe built on your Tier 1 unit, and the pack changed it too.[2][4]
- Next comes Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 3, an upgrade recipe built on your Tier 2 unit. This one is also changed by the pack.[4]
- Finish with Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 4, an upgrade recipe built on your Tier 3 unit. Unlike the first three, this one is the mod's own recipe, not a pack change.[4]

The quest accepts any of the four tiers, so you can finish it with whichever unit you have made. The chapter has 146 quests in total, and the rest of them are waiting for you in the quest book.[2]
How does Pocket Storage work?
2 parts
Pocket Storage is a small mod with one idea: a storage unit you carry that soaks up items for you. It comes in four tiers, from Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 1 up to Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 4. The sources only describe how a unit behaves and how you upgrade it, so this section stays short.[3][4]
What a unit does
Every tier shows the same tooltip: it holds a number of different items, up to a set amount of each. So the limits apply per item type, not to one big shared pool.[3]
The tooltip also says the unit automatically absorbs like items on pickup and voids the excess.[3]
Crafting and upgrading
The pack changes the recipes for the first three tiers, so don't assume the mod's defaults. The first unit is a normal shaped crafting recipe, and it accepts any chest from the common chests tag.[4]

Tiers 2, 3 and 4 are upgrade recipes. Each one takes the unit of the tier below it as an input, and each also accepts any chest from the common chests tag.[4]

How do you progress through Pocket Storage?
6 parts
Pocket Storage is a simple four-step ladder. You craft a Tier 1 unit, then upgrade it through Tier 2 and Tier 3 to Tier 4. The pack's quest book places it in the General Storage chapter, in the Resources & Logistics group (chapter 7 of 31).[2]
What the quest book says
The quest "Pocket Storage" quest is completed by handing in any one of Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 1, Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 2, Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 3 or Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 4. So you don't have to climb the whole ladder to finish it.[2]
The quest explains that these devices automatically pick up items you collect, based on what you place inside them. It suggests this for keeping cobblestone out of your inventory on mining trips. It also says that upgrading the tier lets you store more at once.[2]
The four tiers
The pack has changed three of the four recipes. What you see below is the pack's version, not the mod's default.[4]
- Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 1 is a shaped crafting recipe, and the pack changed it.[4]
- Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 2 is an upgrade recipe built on the Tier 1 unit. The pack changed it.[4]
- Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 3 is an upgrade recipe built on the Tier 2 unit. The pack changed this one too.[4]
- Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 4 is an upgrade recipe built on the Tier 3 unit. This is the mod's own recipe, unchanged by the pack.[4]

Which FTB Skies 2: Aero quests use Pocket Storage?
2 parts
Pocket Storage has one quest in the pack, and it sits in the "General Storage" chapter. That chapter is chapter 7 of 31 in the quest book, in the "Resources & Logistics" group, and it holds 146 quests.[2]
The chapter opens with "General Storage Options" quest, a simple checkmark quest that says the chapter covers most of the basic ways to store your items. In the chapter listing, "Pocket Storage" quest comes right after "Sophisticated Backpacks" quest and just before "Ender Storage" quest. It doesn't list a prerequisite quest.[2]
What the Pocket Storage quest asks for
The task is to hand in any one of the Pocket Storage Units: Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 1, Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 2, Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 3 or Pocket Storage Unit Tier: 4. Any tier completes it, so the cheapest one is enough.[2]
The quest text explains that these devices automatically pick up the items you collect, based on what you place inside them. It gives keeping cobblestone out of your inventory on mining trips as an example.[2]
Related quests in the same chapter
Pocket Storage is one of several storage options in this chapter. The quest book also covers Sophisticated Backpacks, Sophisticated Storage, Functional Drawers and Ender Storage, plus Applied Energistics and Refined Storage networks, so you can compare approaches as you go.[2]
13 of the 146 quests in this chapter weren't available to me, so check the quest book for anything else that mentions Pocket Storage there.[2]
