What is Mystical Automation?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.10.0-beta guide

Mystical Automation is an add-on for Mystical Agriculture. It gives you machines that automate the fiddly parts of that mod, so you can stop doing everything by hand.[1]

This pack includes version 2.0.7 of the mod.[2]

What it adds

  • Infuser: automatically infuses Essences using Infusion Crystals.[1]
  • Crafter: automatically crafts regular crafting recipes.[1]
  • Farmer: automatically grows and harvests crops in a single block.[1]
  • Fertilizer: automatically applies fertilizers like Fertilized Essence or Bone Meal to a field of crops.[1]
  • Infusion and Awakening Altarnators: automatically craft Infusion or Awakening Altar recipes with a single block.[1]
  • Enchanternator: automatically applies enchantments to items.[1]

Quest book placement

Unverified The sources here do not show where the pack's quest book places this mod: no chapter, group or neighbouring quests, and whether the ATM Star path uses it. Check the pack's quest book in game for that.

How do you get started with Mystical Automation?

7 parts

Mystical Automation adds machines that automate different parts of Mystical Agriculture. In this pack every machine is switched on in the config, including the Machines.Farmer.enabled and Machines.Infuser.enabled options, so you can build any of them.[1][3]

Each machine runs off solid fuels, has an internal power storage buffer, and can be upgraded with Machine Upgrades.[4]

Watch out: The pack has changed the crafting recipes of the Farmer, Fertilizer, Infuser, Crafter and both Altarnators. Don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. Use the recipe blocks below, which show the exact in-pack recipes.[5]

Suggested order

The sources give no fixed progression for this mod, so treat this order as a suggestion for how the machines build on each other, starting with the crops themselves.[1][4]

First: the Farmer

Start with the Farmer. It completely automates planting, growing and harvesting crops, and it does this in a single block. That takes the most repetitive job in Mystical Agriculture off your hands.[1][4]

This is the in-pack recipe, which the pack changed from the mod's default.

The pack leaves Machines.Farmer.dynamicMysticalAgricultureRecipes on, which means recipes are generated dynamically for all Mystical Agriculture crops.[3]

Next: the Fertilizer

Next, the Fertilizer fertilizes a field of plants for you. It uses fertilizers such as Bonemeal, Fertilized Essence or Mystical Fertilizer.[1][4]

Finally: the Altarnators

The Infusion Altarnator automatically creates an Infusion Altar recipe, and the Awakening Altarnator does the same for an Awakening Altar recipe. Both are set up like the Crafter: pick the recipe in the grid, then fill the input slots.[4]

The Enchanternator

The Enchanternator automatically creates an Enchanter recipe. You set the recipe in the slots above, then place items in the input slots below. It is enabled in this pack's config via Machines.Enchanternator.enabled.[3][4]

How does Mystical Automation work?

4 parts

Mystical Automation adds machines that automate different parts of Mystical Agriculture. Each one takes a job you would normally do by hand, like infusing essences, crafting, farming or fertilizing, and does it for you.[1][4]

Power and upgrades

Every machine in the mod runs off solid fuels and has an internal power storage buffer, so you fuel them rather than wiring them into an energy network. All of them can also be upgraded with Machine Upgrades.[4]

How each machine works

  • The Crafter automatically crafts a recipe from the inputs you give it. You set the recipe using the grid, then put items into the designated input slots.[1][4]
  • The Infusion Altarnator automatically makes an Infusion Altar recipe, and the Awakening Altarnator does the same for Awakening Altar recipes. Both are set up the same way as the Crafter: pick the recipe in the grid, then fill the input slots. Each replaces a whole altar setup with a single block.[1][4]
  • The Enchanternator automatically makes an Enchanter recipe. Its layout is a little different: you set the recipe using the slots above, then place items into the input slots below.[1][4]
  • The Infuser automatically infuses Essences together with Infusion Crystals. Use the buttons below the input slots to choose which tier of Essence it outputs.[1][4]
  • The Farmer automates planting, growing and harvesting crops, all within a single block.[1][4]
  • The Fertilizer fertilizes a field of plants for you. It can use fertilizers such as Bonemeal, Fertilized Essence or Mystical Fertilizer.[1][4]

What is switched on in this pack

Every machine is enabled in this pack: Machines.Crafter.enabled, Machines.Infuser.enabled, Machines.Farmer.enabled, Machines.Fertilizer.enabled, [[config:config/mysticalautomation-common.toml#Machines.Infusion Altarnator.enabled]], [[config:config/mysticalautomation-common.toml#Machines.Awakening Altarnator.enabled]] and Machines.Enchanternator.enabled are all set to true.[3]

The Farmer also has Machines.Farmer.dynamicMysticalAgricultureRecipes set to true. That means recipes are generated dynamically for all Mystical Agriculture crops, so you don't need to wait for a hand-written entry for each crop.[3]

Crafting the machines

The pack has changed the crafting recipe of the Crafter, Infuser, Farmer, Fertilizer, Infusion Altarnator and Awakening Altarnator, so don't rely on what you remember from the standalone mod. Here are the exact in-pack recipes.[5]

Unverified The sources don't cover which solid fuels work, how long they burn, the size of the power buffer, what the Machine Upgrades change, how items can be moved in and out by hoppers or pipes, or the Enchanternator's crafting recipe, so none of that is confirmed here.

How do you progress through Mystical Automation?

2 parts

Mystical Automation in this pack gives you these machines: the Crafter, Farmer, Fertilizer, Infuser, Infusion Altarnator and Awakening Altarnator. The recipe dump marks every one of their crafting recipes as changed by the pack, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. Use the recipes shown below.[5]

The basic machines

The Crafter, Farmer, Fertilizer and Infuser are all made with shaped crafting recipes. Each one adds a different tool or item to a shared Mystical Agriculture based core, and that is what sets them apart.[5]

The Altarnators

The Infusion Altarnator and the Awakening Altarnator are also shaped crafting recipes. Each one is built around the matching Mystical Agriculture altar, so you need that altar before you can make its automated version.[5]

How does Mystical Automation work with other mods?

2 parts

Mystical Automation is an add-on for Mystical Agriculture, and the pack's recipes show it. Every machine recipe in the pack is built around Mystical Agriculture items, so you will be crafting with that mod's materials first.[1][5]

All of this mod's recipes are marked as changed by the pack, so what you craft here is the pack's version, not the mod's default. They all share a Mystical Agriculture base of the Machine Frame and the Soulium Ingot.[5]

Machines that need an altar

The Altarnators are built directly from the Mystical Agriculture altars they automate. The Infusion Altarnator uses an Infusion Altar, and the Awakening Altarnator uses an Awakening Altar. So you build the altar first, then craft the automated version from it.[1][5]

Machines that need a tool or a vanilla item

The Farmer asks for any item from the Mystical Agriculture diamond sickles tag, so any sickle in that tag works. The Crafter accepts any item from the player workstation crafting tables tag.[5]

Which Mystical Automation config options matter?

2 parts

Good news: Mystical Automation keeps its config simple. The common config file is Machines.Infuser.enabled and its siblings, one on/off switch per machine, plus one recipe option for the Farmer. Here is how this pack sets them.[3]

Machine toggles

This pack sets the enabled option to true for the Infuser, Crafter, Farmer, Fertilizer, both Altarnators and the Enchanternator.[3]

Farmer recipes

The one option that goes beyond an on/off switch is Machines.Farmer.dynamicMysticalAgricultureRecipes. It is set to true in this pack, which means recipes are generated dynamically for all Mystical Agriculture crops. If you add or see a crop from Mystical Agriculture, the Farmer should be able to handle it without you doing anything extra.[3]

Tip: If a machine seems to be missing, check the matching enabled option in this file first. In this pack these toggles are set to true, so a missing machine is not caused by them.[3]

What changed in Mystical Automation between versions?

2 parts

FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 ships Mystical Automation 1.0.7, built for Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod was first included in Aero 1.6.1 or earlier.[6][7]

There are no pack changelog entries for this mod, so the notes below come from the mod's own changelogs for its two most recent releases.[7]

Mystical Automation 1.0.7

Mystical Automation 1.0.6

  • Added JEI recipe transfer support to the recipe grids in the Crafter, Infusion Altarnator, Awakening Altarnator and Enchanternator.[8]
  • Updated the ja_jp translations.[8]

Since Aero 1.10.0 includes 1.0.7, the Fertilizer Bonemeal crash fix and the improved remainder item handling are in this pack. The JEI recipe transfer from 1.0.6 is covered too, so you can move recipes into the recipe grids of the machines listed above.[6][7][8]
