What is Item Collectors?
2 parts
Item Collectors adds blocks that pull in dropped items within a set range and put them into an inventory for you. It's a simple way to stop loose items piling up around a farm or machine. This pack includes version 1.1.10 of the mod.[1][2]
The two collectors
- Basic Collector has a range of up to 5 blocks. In this pack's quest book, it covers an area of up to 11x11x11 by default, and you adjust the area in its interface.[1][3]
- Advanced Collector has a range of up to 7 blocks and can filter items. The quest book says it extends the area to a max of 15x15x15 and lets you choose what it collects.[1][3]
Collected items go into the block directly below the collector, so place your chest or machine first and the collector on top of it. Right-click the collector to open its interface, where the arrow buttons change the range on the x, y and z axes. There's no limit on how many items it collects, and it picks up everything in range instantly.[1]
Where it sits in the quest book
The pack's quest book covers this mod in the quest "Item Collectors" quest, in the "Logistics" chapter. That chapter is in the "Resources & Logistics" group and is chapter 9 of 31 in the book. The quest asks for both the Basic and the Advanced Item Collector.[3]
The book shows no prerequisite for this quest, so it stands on its own. Other quests in the chapter do list one, such as "Vacuum Module" quest, which follows "Modular Routers" quest. The chapter's opening quest, "General Logistics" quest, says the chapter holds most of the ways to move items, energy, fluids and more.[3]
The "Logistics" chapter has 57 quests, and the text of 30 of them isn't covered here. For anything beyond the Item Collectors quest, check the quest book itself.[3]
How do you get started with Item Collectors?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Item Collectors is a small mod with two blocks, and both do the same basic job: they pick up items lying around in an area and move them into storage for you. That saves you from chasing drops after mob farms, mining or tree chopping.[1][4]
Step 1: Make a Basic Collector
Start with the Basic Collector. It picks up items in an area around itself, and the project page lists a range of up to 5 blocks. It's the only collector you can make from scratch, and you need it before you can make the advanced one.[1][4][5]

Step 2: Place it and set the range
- Place the block you want the items to go into, such as a chest.[1]
- Place the collector on top of that block. Collected items go into the block directly below the collector.[1]
- Right-click the collector to open its GUI. Use the arrow buttons to change the range on the x-, y- and z-axis.[1]
Step 3: Upgrade to the Advanced Collector
Once the basic one is working, craft the Advanced Collector. It does the same job, but its items can be filtered, and the project page lists a range of up to 7 blocks. Right-click it to open its GUI, just like the basic one. The project page says items can be whitelisted or blacklisted, which is handy when you only want certain drops in a chest.[1][4][5]

Unverified The range figures of 5 and 7 blocks come from the mod's project page. The sources don't show whether this pack changes them, so check the GUI in your own world.
How does Item Collectors work?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Item Collectors is a small mod with a simple job: it picks up loose items in an area around itself, so you don't have to chase drops. There are two blocks, the Basic Collector and the Advanced Collector.[1][4][5]
Basic vs. Advanced Collector
- The Basic Collector picks up items in an area around itself, with a range of up to 5 blocks.[1][4][5]
- The Advanced Collector does the same with a range of up to 7 blocks, and it can also filter items.[1][4][5]
Filtering means items can be whitelisted or blacklisted. That lets you pull in only the drops you want, or ignore the ones you don't. The project page lists filtering only under the Advanced Collector, so don't expect it on the Basic one.[1][4]
Placing a collector
Where the collected items end up depends on where you put the collector. Collected items go into the block directly below it, so set up your storage first and place the collector on top.[1]
Setting the range
Right-click a collector to open its GUI. There you can change the range separately for the x-, y-, and z-axis using the arrow buttons. You can shrink the area so the collector doesn't grab items you'd rather leave on the ground.[1]
Crafting
The Basic Collector's in-pack recipe is shown below.[5]

How do you progress through Item Collectors?
4 parts
Item Collectors has a very short progression path: two tiers, and the pack's quest book covers both in a single quest. The quest is called "Item Collectors" quest and sits in the Logistics chapter (group "Resources & Logistics", chapter 9 of 31 in the book). It asks you to get both the Basic Collector and the Advanced Collector.[3]
Tier 1: Basic Item Collector
The Basic Collector is a configurable collector. It automatically picks up items within its radius and pushes them into an inventory below it. Per the quest book, it can collect from an area of up to 11x11x11 by default, and you adjust the area in its interface.[3]

Tier 2: Advanced Item Collector
The quest book describes the Advanced Collector as the upgrade from the basic one. It gives you more control, including filtering which items it collects, and it extends the collection range to a maximum of 15x15x15.[3]

Which tier do you need?
- Go with the Basic Item Collector if you just want items in an area pushed into an inventory below, with an area of up to 11x11x11.[3]
- Move up to the Advanced Item Collector when you want to filter what gets collected, or need the larger 15x15x15 maximum range.[3]
Other ways to gather items in this chapter
The Logistics chapter has other ways to collect items too. The "Vacuum Module" quest quest has a Modular Routers module that collects items dropped in the world within a certain radius. The "Harvester Pylon" quest quest covers a Pylon that harvests plants in a configurable radius and outputs into an inventory placed on top of it.[3]
Which FTB Skies 2: Aero quests use Item Collectors?
2 parts
This mod has one quest, and it sits in the Logistics chapter. That chapter is in the "Resources & Logistics" group and is chapter 9 of 31 in the quest book.[3]
Item Collectors
The quest "Item Collectors" quest asks you to obtain both of the mod's items: the Basic Collector and the Advanced Collector.[3]
The quest text describes the Basic Item Collector as a configurable collector that picks up items in its radius and pushes them into an inventory below it. By default it covers up to an 11x11x11 area, and you can adjust that area in its interface.[3]
The Advanced Item Collector gives you more control. You can filter which items it collects, and the range extends to a maximum of 15x15x15.[3]
Where it sits in the chapter
"Item Collectors" quest is one of the chapter's starting quests. It has no prerequisite listed, and no other quest in the chapter is listed as coming after it. You can pick it up whenever you like.[3]
If you want item pickup that works differently, the same chapter has "Vacuum Module" quest. It comes after "Modular Routers" quest and lets a router collect items that drop in the world within a certain radius.[3]
Which Item Collectors config options matter?
2 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
The options that matter for Item Collectors all sit under the General section of the common config, starting with General.basicCollectorMaxRange. They cover how far each collector can reach and whether it gets an item filter. This pack leaves all of them at the mod default, so nothing here behaves differently from a plain install.[7]
Maximum range
- General.basicCollectorMaxRange is set to 5 in this pack, the same as the default. It caps how far the basic collector can reach, and the allowed range for the option is 1 to 10.[7]
- General.advancedCollectorMaxRange is set to 7 in this pack, also the default. The allowed range is again 1 to 10.[7]
These are maximums, not fixed sizes. You can still set a smaller range on each axis in the collector's GUI, which you open with a right-click, using the arrow buttons for the x-, y- and z-axis.[1]
Filters
- General.advancedCollectorFilter is true in this pack, the default. The advanced collector has a filter, so you can control which items it picks up.[1][7]
- General.basicCollectorFilter is false in this pack, also the default. The basic collector has no filter.[7]
What changed in Item Collectors between versions?
2 parts
There isn't much history to cover for Item Collectors in this pack. FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 ships Item Collectors 1.1.10, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21, and it has been in the pack since Aero 1.0.3 or earlier.[2]
Mod releases
- Item Collectors 1.1.10: the initial release of the mod for Minecraft 1.21. This is the version the pack currently includes.[2][8]
Pack changes
There are no pack changelog entries for this mod, so I can't point to any pack-specific tweaks to Item Collectors across Aero's releases.[2]
