Which Create Propulsion: Simulated config options matter?
5 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 guide
Most of what matters in the Create Propulsion: Simulated configs is thrust. The pack raised the base thrust of every thruster type above the mod default. Every one of these options is described as tuned for 1,000-unit thrust scale parity with Sable physics.[1]
Values the pack changed
- thruster.baseThrust is 800 in this pack. The mod default is 533.333333333. This is the base thrust of the standard thruster at redstone 15 and full obstruction efficiency, and effective thrust is baseThrust * fuel_thrust_percent / 100.[1]
- ionThruster.ionThrusterBaseThrust is 1,200 here, up from a mod default of 800.[1]
- vectorThruster.vectorThrusterBaseThrust and liquidVectorThruster.liquidVectorThrusterBaseThrust are both 1,100 here. The mod default for each is 733.333333333.[1]
- [[config:config/createpropulsion-common.toml#Creative Thruster.creativeThrusterBaseThrust]] and creativeVectorThruster.creativeVectorThrusterBaseThrust are both 1,000 here, up from a mod default of 666.666666667. These are the starting thrust values in kN when you place the block.[1]
- creativeVectorThruster.creativeVectorThrusterMaxThrust is 10,000 here, up from 6,666.666666667. This is the highest value the scroll can reach on a creative vector thruster.[1]
- [[config:config/createpropulsion-common.toml#Tilt Adapter.Maximum angle range]] is 90 degrees here, double the mod default of 45. It is the maximum output angle, reached at full redstone differential.[1]
Fuel and energy use
Fuel use is left at the mod default. A standard thruster burns thruster.fuelMbPerTickAtFullThrottle = 1 mB per tick at full throttle, and its tank holds 1,000 mB (thruster.fuelTankCapacityMb). The liquid vector thruster uses the same numbers. The ion thruster draws 40 FE per tick at full throttle (ionThruster.ionThrusterFePerTickAtFullThrottle) and stores 4,000 FE (ionThruster.ionThrusterEnergyCapacityFe).[1]
Each fuel has an efficiency and a burn rate, both given as percentages, under Fuel Configuration. The pack leaves all of them at the mod default. Diesel from Create: Diesel Generators is 100 efficiency and 100 burn rate ([[config:config/createpropulsion-common.toml#Fuel Configuration.fuelProperties.createdieselgenerators_diesel.efficiency]]). Gasoline is 125 efficiency with an 80 burn rate. Mekanism hydrogen is 230 efficiency with a 90 burn rate ([[config:config/createpropulsion-common.toml#Fuel Configuration.fuelProperties.mekanism_hydrogen.efficiency]]). If you want a fluid that has no entry, [[config:config/createpropulsion-common.toml#Fuel Configuration.additionalThrusterFuelLines]] is where you add it. It is empty in this pack.[1]
Multiblock thrusters
The multiblock bonuses are the mod defaults. A 2x2x2 multiblock gets a thrust multiplier of 1.25 and a fuel cost multiplier of 0.6. A 3x3x3 gets 1.5 thrust and 0.4 fuel cost. The settings are multiblockThruster.multiblock2xThrustMultiplier, multiblockThruster.multiblock2xFuelEfficiency, multiblockThruster.multiblock3xThrustMultiplier and multiblockThruster.multiblock3xFuelEfficiency.[1]
Burners, damage and physics
- All four burner toggles are on: [[config:config/createpropulsion-common.toml#Burners.Burners heat steam engines]], [[config:config/createpropulsion-common.toml#Burners.Burners superheat steam engines]], [[config:config/createpropulsion-common.toml#Burners.Burners power heated mixers]] and [[config:config/createpropulsion-common.toml#Burners.Blaze burners heat stirling engines]]. With the mixer option on, solid and liquid burners can heat heated mixers, which allows pre-nether brass.[1]
- thruster.damageEntities is true, so entities standing in an active thruster plume take damage.[1]
- physics.useAtmosphericPressure is false, so altitude does not change thruster output.[1]
Client options
[[config:config/createpropulsion-client.toml#Thruster Plumes.renderMode]] is set to PARTICLE. You can switch it to SHADER if you prefer the procedural plume shader. Debug.Thruster is off. Turn it on to see the plume ray, obstruction hits and damage zones, which is handy when a thruster seems to be underperforming.[2]
