What is Create Aeronautics: Gadgets & Gizmos?
1 part
Create Aeronautics: Gadgets & Gizmos is an addon for Create Aeronautics. It adds new ways to control and interact with physics contraptions, so your flying builds get thrusters, flight controls and servo-aimed engines. This pack includes version 1.1.3 of the mod.[1][2]
In the pack's quest book, the thrusters, controls and gadgets from this mod are covered inside the chapter that teaches you to build a ship that flies. The Thruster burns fuel and shoves the ship away from its nozzle, and the Thruster Lens can swap that fuel for FE. Upgrade items add more thrust or let the exhaust smoke, smelt or haunt items.[3]
Where it sits in the quest book
The mod lives in the "Aeronautics" chapter. It is chapter 5 of 31 in the book, in the "Main Questline" group, and it has 58 quests. The chapter opens with "Taking to the Skies" quest. "Thrust" quest, "Lift" quest, "Controls" quest, "The Hull" quest, "Stability" quest and "Going Places" quest all come after it. The text of 40 of the 58 quests is only in the quest book, so check it there for the rest.[3]
- "Thrusters" quest comes after the Portable Engine quest. It asks for the Thruster, the Thruster Lens and one upgrade item. "Thruster Upgrades" quest comes after it.[3]
- "Vectored Thrust" quest comes after the Propulsion Thrusters quest. It asks for the Vector Thruster and the Servo Bearing.[3]
- "Physics Goggles" quest comes after "The Hull" quest and asks for the Physics Goggles.[3]
- "Advanced Data Link" quest comes after "Stability" quest and asks for the Advanced Data Link. "Smart Gearbox" quest comes after it and asks for the Smart Gearbox.[3]
- "Contraption Controller" quest comes after the Linked Typewriter quest. It asks for the Contraption Controller and the Analogue Joystick.[3]
How do you get started with Create Aeronautics: Gadgets & Gizmos?
5 parts
This mod adds the thrusters, controllers and bearings you use to fly and steer Create Aeronautics ships. In the pack's quest book, its quests sit in the "Aeronautics" chapter of the Main Questline (chapter 5 of 31). Here is the order I'd make things in. The quest book has more quests in that chapter than I cover here, so check it for the rest.[1][3]
Physics Goggles: see what your ship is doing
Start with the Physics Goggles. Their quest comes right after the hull quest, and they draw every force acting on a ship as an arrow. Propellers and thrusters print their output too, so you can see why a build tips or spins before it costs you a crash.[3]
The Thruster: your first engine
The Thruster burns fuel and shoves the ship away from its nozzle. In the quest book it comes after the Portable Engine quest. A redstone signal from 1 to 15 is the throttle, and full throttle gives about 2.94 kpN. A neutral fuel burns 5.6 mB per tick flat out.[3][4]
The pack changed this recipe from the mod's version, so go by the one below.[5]

Throttle is not linear. Half throttle cuts the fuel burn a lot more than it cuts the thrust, so cruise low and sprint rarely.[3][4]
Upgrades and the Thruster Lens
The Thruster Upgrades quest follows the Thrusters quest. A Propulsion Upgrade Tier 1 doubles thrust, and each tier doubles it again, up to sixteen times at Tier 4. The fuel bill climbs to match.[3][4]

The Thruster Lens swaps fuel for FE, at 90 FE per tick at full throttle. It also focuses the plume into a beam that reaches about 4.41 kpN, above a normal thruster.[3][4]

Keeping the ship level
Once it flies, make it fly straight. The Advanced Data Link carries orientation (pitch, roll and heading) from a Gimbal Sensor or another orientation source up to 128 blocks away. It sits after the Stability quest.[3]
Next comes the Smart Gearbox, whose quest follows the Advanced Data Link. In Servo Mode it takes orientation from the link and aims any attached Servo Bearing. Between that, a Gimbal Sensor and a couple of thrusters, a ship can hold itself level with nobody at the controls. The pack changed this recipe too.[3][5]

The Servo Bearing is what the gearbox aims. Mount any thruster on it and it pivots the whole assembly, up to 90 degrees with the pack's common.thruster_bearing.bearingMaxPivotAngleDeg setting.[3][4]
Flying it yourself
When you want to pilot by hand, the Contraption Controller is a flight computer with 13 channels. You bind keys to pitch, roll, yaw, throttle and more, and it outputs analog redstone for each one. Its quest comes after the Linked Typewriter quest.[3]

How does Create Aeronautics: Gadgets & Gizmos work?
8 parts
This mod adds a lot of machinery on top of Create's physics contraptions. Here is how the main systems fit together: power, thrusters, control and the moving parts. The numbers below come from this pack's own config files and recipes, so they are what you will actually see in this pack.[1][4][6]
Power: rotation to FE
The Industrial Alternator converts rotation into FE. It makes no power below its minimum speed, and above that the output rises with RPM. It stores power internally, and you draw it out by attaching a cable to any face. The faster it spins, the more stress it puts on your rotation network, so keep an eye on that.[7]
The pack leaves all of the following at the mod defaults:[4]
- Alternator buffer: 5,000 FE (common.alternator.generatorCapacity).[4]
- Alternator max output transfer rate: 5,000 (common.alternator.generatorMaxOutput).[4]
- Alternator efficiency: 0.85 (common.alternator.generatorEfficiency).[4]
- Shared conversion rate: 5,883 FE/t at 256 RPM (common.energy.feAtMaxRpm).[4]
- Maximum stress for the Alternator and Industrial Motor: 96,800 SU at 256 RPM (common.energy.maxStress).[4]
The Industrial Motor has its own FE limits, also at the mod defaults:[4]
- Internal buffer: 5,000 FE (common.industrial_motor.motorCapacity).[4]
- Max input transfer rate: 5,000 (common.industrial_motor.motorMaxInput).[4]
- Minimum required consumption: 8 FE/t (common.industrial_motor.motorMinConsumption).[4]
- RPM range: 256 (common.industrial_motor.motorRpmRange).[4]
Andesite Cable carries FE between machines. It connects automatically to whatever it touches, and power flows along any chain of cables without loss. Just place it next to anything that produces or uses FE. The pack changed this recipe.[5][7]

Thrusters and fuel
A normal Thruster is tuned by these values, all at the mod defaults in this pack:[4]
- Base thrust at 100% throttle: 640, which the config describes as about 2.94 kpN in standard atmosphere (common.thruster.thrusterBaseThrust).[4]
- Base fuel use at 100% throttle for a neutral fuel: 5.6 mB/t (common.thruster.thrusterBaseFuelUsePerTick).[4]
- Base airflow at 100% throttle: 80 (common.thruster.thrusterBaseAirflow).[4]
- Fuel throttle exponent: 1.35. Above 1 means low throttle is significantly more efficient, so part throttle saves a lot of fuel (common.thruster.thrusterFuelThrottleExponent).[4]
- Fluids tagged as light thruster fuels use an efficiency multiplier of 0.7 (common.thruster.lightFuelEfficiencyMultiplier).[4]
- Fluids tagged as dense thruster fuels use 1.45 (common.thruster.denseFuelEfficiencyMultiplier).[4]
- Oxidized thruster fuels apply a thrust multiplier of 1.5 (common.thruster.oxidizedFuelThrustMultiplier).[4]
The Fuel Oxidizer pushes oxidized fuel through pipes, or pours it from an open front face.[7]
Propulsion upgrades apply 2x, 4x, 8x and 16x by tier, and the maximum multiplier is set to 16 (common.thruster.propulsionUpgradeMaxMultiplier). Propulsion Upgrade Tier 2 and Propulsion Upgrade Tier 3 each build on the tier below plus another Thruster.[4][5]

Beam mode and the lens
The Thruster Lens is tied to the beam (focused/lens) thruster mode. Beam mode spends FE on top of fuel, and its numbers in this pack are:[4][5]
- Thrust multiplier 1.5, which the config puts at about 4.41 kpN at full throttle, above the roughly 2.94 kpN of normal thrusters (common.thruster.beamThrustMultiplier).[4]
- FE use of 90 per tick at 100% throttle, scaling linearly with throttle (common.thruster.focusedModeFePerTick).[4]
- Internal FE storage of up to 100,000 (common.thruster.focusedModeFeCapacity).[4]

Exhaust that processes things
Thruster air streams can bulk-process items using Create's fan blasting or haunting, and that is switched on here (server.enableThrusterBulkProcessing).[6]
The rate is 2 times Create's default fan speed at 100% throttle. It scales linearly with throttle, so 50% throttle matches Create when this is 2.0 (server.thrusterBulkProcessingFullThrottleMultiplier).[6]
Haunting-upgraded thrusters can convert supported mobs instead of dropping loot on death (common.thruster.enableThrusterMobHaunting), and active exhaust can damage living entities (common.thruster.enableThrusterEntityDamage). Both are enabled in this pack.[4]
The pack changed the recipes for Processing Upgrade: Haunting Tier 1 and Processing Upgrade: Haunting Tier 2, so check them here rather than from memory.[5]

Control: from keys to redstone
The Contraption Controller is a programmable flight controller with 13 channels. You bind keyboard keys to things like pitch, roll, yaw and throttle. Each channel's output can go to a local face as direct redstone, to a Redstone Link frequency, or to a block you registered with the Contraption Network Linker. Sneak and Use to open the binding screen.[7]
The Advanced Contraption Controller [EXPERIMENTAL] is marked experimental. Using it opens a full-screen blueprint editor with programmable inputs, logic and outputs. It is crafted from the basic controller, and the Advanced Portable Contraption Controller [EXPERIMENTAL] is made from it.[5][7]

The Analogue Joystick outputs a signal from 0 to 15 on each side, matching how far the stick is tilted that way. You can adjust the deadzone, the maximum tilt angle, and whether it springs back or holds its position. The Double Button packs two wireless buttons into one block, each with its own mode: Oak, Stone, Latch or Hold.[7]
Orientation data and the Smart Gearbox
The Advanced Data Link (Advanced Data Link) links to Simulated gyro sensors. Linking is enabled in this pack (server.enableGyroscopeLinking).[5][6]
The maximum distance between the gyro sensor and the placed link is 128 blocks (server.gyroscopeLinkRange).[6]
The Smart Gearbox carries two separate rotation lanes that can run at different speeds and in opposite directions. Connect shafts to the East/West and North/South faces, and use a face to invert its direction. Place an Advanced Data Link on top to enable Servo Mode, where it reads live tilt and drives each bearing to match or counter it.[7]
The maximum static per-face angle reported from gyro input is 90 degrees (common.gearbox.gearboxMaxStaticAngleDeg). Gyro-derived face angles and redstone outputs are inverted when the gearbox is powered (common.gearbox.gearboxReverseWithRedstone).[4]
The Bi-Directional Gearshift [Experimental] is another experimental two-lane block. Its directional axes stop with no signal, then run clockwise or counter-clockwise from their channel, and you bind the wireless frequencies by sneaking and using it. The pack changed its recipe.[5][7]

Automation and the Ship Control Module
The Advanced Navigation Table holds several navigation maps, one per slot. Hoppers, belts and other item handlers can insert and extract maps. You choose which stored map is the current target, and the table outputs pitch and roll signals that a Contraption Controller can read.[7]

The mod's project page describes the Ship Control Module as a multiblock that needs an Advanced Contraption Controller placed directly on top of it. It gives you Create-train-style automation with the Shipping Schedule and Ship Docks, with its own live path finding and collision avoidance. It currently only fully supports ships steered and propelled by this mod's thrusters. Planes, boats, ground vehicles and sail-like blocks on bearings are listed as known problem cases.[1]
Bearings and actuators
- Thruster bearings pivot up to 90 degrees when they receive a full redstone differential (common.thruster_bearing.bearingMaxPivotAngleDeg).[4]
- Bearing interpolation per tick is 0.25, where 0 means no movement and 1 snaps (common.thruster_bearing.bearingSmoothing).[4]
- Bearings wait 2 ticks of target debounce before motion updates (common.thruster_bearing.bearingDebounceTicks).[4]
- The scissor piston extends up to 32 blocks after adding Scissor Arms (common.scissor_piston.maxRange). The pack changed the Scissor Arms recipe.[4][5]
- The Claw hangs by rope from a Rope Winch. Signal 0 opens it, signals 1 through 14 try to grab a nearby Rope Connector, and 15 locks it shut. Low signals may eventually slip and drop the load.[7]
- The Claw can also scan for and pick up living entities in this pack (common.claw.clawCanGrabEntities).[4]
- The Physics Gantry Belt Wheel has a maximum link distance of 64 blocks (server.physicsGantryBeltWheelMaxDistance).[6]
- The Powered Zipline's rope attachment damping is 0.45. Higher values reduce sway from hard starts and stops (common.powered_zipline.poweredZiplineRopeAttachmentInertiaDamping).[4]

How do you progress through Create Aeronautics: Gadgets & Gizmos?
7 parts
In this pack, the Create Thrusters content lives in the Aeronautics chapter of the Main Questline (chapter 5 of 31, with 58 quests). It isn't its own chapter. Its quests are scattered through the ship-building paths, so you pick up its tiers as you build your first real ship.[3]
The path through the quest book
- Start at "Taking to the Skies" quest, which opens the whole chapter. "The Hull" quest comes after it, and "Physics Goggles" quest comes after The Hull. It asks for the Physics Goggles, which draw every force on your ship as an arrow.[3]
- "Contraption Diagram" quest comes after the goggles. It shows the total mass and the centre of mass, so check it before your first flight.[3]
- "Thrust" quest leads to "Portable Engine" quest, and the Portable Engine leads to "Thrusters" quest. That is where the Thruster and the Thruster Lens come in.[3]
- "Thruster Upgrades" quest comes right after Thrusters and asks for Propulsion Upgrade Tier 1. This is the tier ladder.[3]
- On the steering side, "Advanced Data Link" quest comes after the Stability path, and "Smart Gearbox" quest comes after that.[3]
Starting with the Thruster
The Thruster burns fuel and pushes the ship away from its nozzle. A redstone signal from 1 to 15 is the throttle, and full throttle gives about 2.94 kpN. Throttle isn't linear: a neutral fuel burns 5.6 mB per tick flat out, and half throttle cuts the burn much more than it cuts the thrust. So cruise low and sprint rarely.[3]
The pack changes the Thruster recipe from the mod's default, so use this one.[5]

The Small Thruster is the same engine in a shorter body. You can craft a Thruster into a Small Thruster and back again.[3][5]
Propulsion Upgrade tiers
Tier 1 doubles your thrust, and each tier after that doubles it again, up to sixteen times at Tier 4. The fuel bill climbs to match. Each tier is crafted from the previous tier's upgrade, and these four recipes are the mod's own, not changed by the pack.[3][5]

Processing Upgrade tiers
Processing Upgrades turn the exhaust into an Encased Fan. Items on Depots in the stream get smoked, smelted or haunted, and higher tiers work faster and over a wider area. There are Smoking, Smelting and Haunting lines, and the upgrades in each line build on the previous tier. The pack changed these recipes, so the ones below are the in-pack versions.[3][5]

Steering and control gear
The Advanced Data Link carries pitch, roll and heading from a Gimbal Sensor or another orientation source, up to 128 blocks away. The Smart Gearbox then uses that data in Servo Mode to aim any Servo Bearing attached to it. With a Gimbal Sensor and a couple of thrusters, a ship can hold itself level with no player at the controls.[3]
The pack changes the Smart Gearbox recipe from the mod's default.[5]

"Vectored Thrust" quest asks for the Servo Bearing. Mount any thruster on it and the whole assembly pivots up to 90 degrees. The Servo Bearing recipe is the mod's own.[3][5]
For manual flying, "Contraption Controller" quest comes after the Linked Typewriter quest. The Contraption Controller is a flight computer with 13 channels, and the Analogue Joystick is its physical cousin.[3]
Extras that show up along the way
- Powered Zipline and Claw are mentioned in "Ropes" quest. The Zipline rides along a rope under its own power, and the Claw hangs from one and grabs connectors on a redstone pulse. The pack changes the Zipline recipe.[3][5]
- Advanced Navigation Table is mentioned in "Navigation Tables" quest. It holds several maps at once and exposes the slots to automation.[3]
How does Create Aeronautics: Gadgets & Gizmos work with other mods?
4 parts
Most of this mod's crafting is built on top of other mods. You'll be pulling parts from Create, from Simulated, from vanilla, and from the pack's own FTB materials (plates and ingots).[5]
Create
- Both portable controllers are a controller plus a Create Transmitter. The Advanced Contraption Controller [EXPERIMENTAL] is built from a Contraption Controller together with Create parts such as the Electron Tube and Precision Mechanism.[5]
- The Servo Bearing needs a Create Precision Mechanism. The Aileron Bearing uses a Create Gearbox plus two Servo Bearings, and the Variable Transmission also uses a gearbox and a Shaft.[5]
- The Advanced Data Link is a Create Display Link combined with a Simulated part. The quest describes it as the same idea as a Display Link, but carrying pitch, roll and heading instead of text.[3][5]
- The Fuel Oxidizer uses a Create Encased Fan and Fluid Pipe. In the quest book it boosts supported fuels by half again.[3][5]
- The Configuration Clipboard and Shipping Manifest both start from a Create Clipboard. The Double Button uses a Create Redstone Link, and its copycat version uses a Copycat Panel.[5]
- The Processing Upgrades make a Thruster act like an Encased Fan: items on Depots in the exhaust stream get smoked, smelted or haunted. Tier 4 of each path asks for Create's Blaze Cake.[3][5]
Simulated and Aeronautics
- Simulated's Linked Typewriter and Throttle Lever go into the Contraption Controller, and the Analogue Joystick is made from throttle levers too. Both recipes are shown below.[5]
- The Servo Bearing and the Vector Bearing [Experimental] are both built on Simulated's Swivel Bearing.[5]
- Propulsion Upgrade Tier 1 needs Simulated's Red Portable Engine and a Create Blaze Burner. Tier 2 asks for another Blaze Burner.[5]
- The Advanced Navigation Table is an upgrade of Simulated's Navigation Table. The Physics Staff uses Honey Glue, and the Powered Zipline uses Rope Connector.[5]
- Physics Goggles build on the Aviators Goggles, with Shears as the vanilla part (recipe below). The quest notes that the Aviator's Goggles do the same job as Engineer's Goggles for stress and RPM.[3][5]
Pack-specific recipes
The pack changed many recipes for this mod, mostly to pull in FTB materials. The Thruster, Andesite Cable, all the Processing Upgrades, Smart Gearbox, Bi-Directional Gearshift, Physics Gantry Shaft, Powered Zipline, Configuration Clipboard and Fuel Oxidizer are all pack-changed. The Thruster now uses Iron Plate, Steel Plate and a Block of Steel, and most of the others use Brass Plate or Brass Ingot.[5]

In the quest book
All of this lives in the "Aeronautics" chapter, in the Main Questline group (chapter 5 of 31). The "Thrusters" quest quest comes after Portable Engine, and "Thruster Upgrades" quest comes after Thrusters. "Contraption Controller" quest follows Linked Typewriter, and "Smart Gearbox" quest follows "Advanced Data Link" quest. "Physics Goggles" quest comes after The Hull.[3]
"Vectored Thrust" quest comes after Propulsion Thrusters and asks for both the Vector Thruster from Create Propulsion and this mod's Servo Bearing. Per the quest, a Smart Gearbox in servo mode behind a Servo Bearing aims the engine from orientation data automatically.[3]
The Thruster Upgrades quest says the Thruster Lens swaps fuel for FE, at 90 FE per tick at full throttle. The quest text for most of this chapter isn't covered here, so check the quest book for the rest.[3]
Which FTB Skies 2: Aero quests use Create Aeronautics: Gadgets & Gizmos?
3 parts
Everything for this mod lives in the Aeronautics chapter, which is in the Main Questline group and is chapter 5 of 31 in the quest book. It has 58 quests, and they all branch off the opening quest "Taking to the Skies" quest. Seven of them ask for items from this mod. They sit on three separate branches, so here they are branch by branch.[3]
Engine branch: Thrust, engines, upgrades, steering
- "Thrust" quest comes first. It is a checkmark quest explaining how thrust pushes on the ship where an engine sits. "Portable Engine" quest follows it.[3]
- "Thrusters" quest unlocks after Portable Engine. It asks for a Thruster, a Thruster Lens and any one of the upgrade items, such as Propulsion Upgrade Tier 1 or a Processing Upgrade like Processing Upgrade: Smelting Tier 1. The quest says a redstone signal from 1 to 15 sets the throttle. Processing upgrades let a Thruster smelt, cook and haunt items like an Encased Fan. The Lens lets it run on FE instead of liquid fuel.[3]
- "Thruster Upgrades" quest comes after Thrusters and asks for a Propulsion Upgrade Tier 1. Tier 1 doubles thrust and each tier doubles it again, up to sixteen times at Tier 4, with fuel use climbing to match. With the Lens, a Thruster draws 90 FE per tick at full throttle.[3]
- "Vectored Thrust" quest hangs off "Propulsion Thrusters" quest, which also follows Portable Engine. It asks for a Vector Thruster from Create Propulsion and a Servo Bearing. Mount any thruster on the Servo Bearing and it pivots up to 90 degrees from a redstone difference.[3]
Stability branch: data and gearbox
The Stability quest "Stability" quest leads to "Advanced Data Link" quest, which asks for the Advanced Data Link. It carries orientation data from a Gimbal Sensor or another orientation source up to 128 blocks away.[3]
"Smart Gearbox" quest comes right after and asks for the Smart Gearbox. In Servo Mode it takes orientation from the Advanced Data Link and aims any attached Servo Bearing, so a thruster or propeller keeps pointing where you want. The quest says that with a Gimbal Sensor and a couple of thrusters, a ship can hold itself level with no player at the controls.[3]
Hull and controls branches
- "Physics Goggles" quest follows The Hull ("The Hull" quest) and asks for the Physics Goggles. They draw every force on a ship as an arrow and show propeller and thruster output. "Contraption Diagram" quest comes after it.[3]
- "Contraption Controller" quest is the last step of the Controls branch, after Wheel and Throttle ("Wheel and Throttle" quest) and Linked Typewriter ("Linked Typewriter" quest). It asks for the Contraption Controller and the Analogue Joystick. The controller is a flight computer with 13 channels that outputs analog redstone for each one, and the joystick is its physical version.[3]
The Ropes quest "Ropes" quest also mentions the Powered Zipline from Create Thrusters, which rides along a rope under its own power. That quest asks for items from other mods, though.[3]
Which Create Aeronautics: Gadgets & Gizmos config options matter?
6 parts
Good news first: for this mod the pack leaves every option that reports a mod default at that default. The values below are what you get in the pack, but none of the numeric ones were changed. What the pack does change is a handful of on/off switches, covered at the end.[4][6][8]
Thruster power and fuel
- common.thruster.thrusterBaseThrust is 640 for normal thrusters, which the config describes as about 2.94 kpN at full throttle in standard atmosphere.[4]
- common.thruster.beamThrustMultiplier is 1.5, giving beam (lens) mode about 4.41 kpN at full throttle.[4]
- Beam mode runs on energy: common.thruster.focusedModeFePerTick is 90 FE per tick at 100% throttle, scaling linearly with throttle, and common.thruster.focusedModeFeCapacity lets a beam thruster store 100,000 FE.[4]
- common.thruster.propulsionUpgradeMaxMultiplier caps propulsion upgrades at 16. The tiers apply 2x, 4x, 8x and 16x before that cap.[4]
- Base fuel use is 5.6 mB/t at 100% throttle for a neutral fuel (common.thruster.thrusterBaseFuelUsePerTick).[4]
- common.thruster.lightFuelEfficiencyMultiplier is 0.7, the fuel efficiency multiplier for fluids tagged as light thruster fuels.[4]
- common.thruster.denseFuelEfficiencyMultiplier is 1.45, the fuel efficiency multiplier for fluids tagged as dense thruster fuels.[4]
- common.thruster.thrusterFuelThrottleExponent is 1.35. Because it is above 1, low throttle is significantly more fuel efficient, so don't run full throttle all the time.[4]
Thruster side effects
common.thruster.enableThrusterEntityDamage is true, so active exhaust can damage living entities. Stay out of the flame.[4]
Thruster air streams also bulk-process items with Create fan blasting or haunting, because server.enableThrusterBulkProcessing is true. server.thrusterBulkProcessingFullThrottleMultiplier is 2, which means 50% throttle matches Create's default fan speed.[6]
Alternator and Industrial Motor
- common.energy.maxStress is 96,800 SU at 256 RPM for the Alternator and Industrial Motor.[4]
- common.energy.feAtMaxRpm is 5,883 FE/t at 256 RPM. The Alternator multiplies it by common.alternator.generatorEfficiency (0.85), which keeps its output at 5,000 FE/t.[4]
- The Alternator buffer (common.alternator.generatorCapacity) and max output (common.alternator.generatorMaxOutput) are both 5,000.[4]
- The Industrial Motor has a 5,000 FE buffer (common.industrial_motor.motorCapacity) and a 5,000 max input (common.industrial_motor.motorMaxInput). Its minimum consumption is 8 FE/t (common.industrial_motor.motorMinConsumption) and its RPM range is 256 (common.industrial_motor.motorRpmRange).[4]
Other limits worth knowing
- common.scissor_piston.maxRange is 32 blocks of extension once you add Scissor Arms.[4]
- server.gyroscopeLinkRange is 128 blocks between the selected gyro sensor and the Advanced Data Link.[6]
- common.claw.clawCanGrabEntities is true, so the Claw can pick up living entities.[4]
What this pack switches off
The server file sets the Gyro Redstone Bridge and the Virtual Orientation Source to false, both as blocks and as items. Everything else in the feature lists is true. You won't be able to use those two, and the config notes that existing content isn't removed automatically.[6]
- server.features.items.gyro_redstone_bridge and server.features.blocks.gyro_redstone_bridge[6]
- server.features.items.virtual_orientation_source and server.features.blocks.virtual_orientation_source[6]
Client settings
client.clawMarkerRenderMode is set to OFF, and the file notes that OFF is enforced. The options are DEPTH, DECAL, PARTICLE and OFF. client.showDetailedGoggleTooltips is false, but it's a legacy option: goggle tooltip details now follow Create's Sneak detail behavior.[8]
If thrusters are too loud or flashy for you, there are two local sliders. Setting either one to 0 disables that local effect.[8]
- client.thrusterMaxVolume is 1. It is the maximum local volume multiplier for thruster sounds, and 0 disables local thruster audio.[8]
- client.thrusterParticleScale is 1. It is the local thruster particle multiplier, and 0 disables local thruster particles.[8]
What changed in Create Aeronautics: Gadgets & Gizmos between versions?
2 parts
FTB Skies 2: Aero 1.10.0 ships Create Aeronautics: Gadgets & Gizmos 1.1.3. The mod has been in the pack since 1.1.0 or earlier, so you may have seen older versions of it in earlier releases. Below are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs.[2]
Version 1.1.3 (2026-07-27)
1.1.3 is the version your pack runs. In its changelog, most entries are about the Advanced Contraption Controller node graph. Here are the highlights from the part of the changelog that is available.[2][9]
- 1.1.3 adds a Mouse Control node with options for Left click, Right Click, Scroll Up, Scroll Down, Middle Click, Mouse-X and Mouse-Y.[9]
- 1.1.3 adds Profiler nodes that read info about the Minecraft client, such as FPS, Frametime, TPS and MSPT.[9]
- New Cross-Controller Named Event nodes, so several controllers can talk to each other.[9]
- 1.1.3 adds a Controller Tracker node to the Portable Advanced Contraption Controller. It tracks the X/Y/Z coordinates of the player holding the controller, or of the lectern if the controller is placed in one.[9]
- 1.1.3 adds compatibility between the Contraption Controllers and the new Aeroworks Controller multiblocks.[9]
- 1.1.3 fixes Variable nodes so they work correctly, and fixes the Get Variable node graph simulation so it outputs the correct value.[9]
- In 1.1.3, copying and pasting nodes in the same controller assigns them a UUID, which stops stale values from persisting.[9]
- 1.1.3 makes Comment Groups easier to work with: selecting one selects all the nodes inside it, copying one copies its container, and nodes are only assigned to a group when you drop them into it.[9]
- 1.1.3 adds editor quality of life: CTRL+S/Z/Y shortcuts for Save, Undo and Redo, a Save on close toggle in the title bar, and an FPS counter in the top right of the graph.[9]
- 1.1.3 adds a rolling version history that lets you roll back changes to a graph, up to 15 versions.[9]
- 1.1.3 adds Graph Failure highlighting, which shows which areas make a graph fail on apply or save.[9]
- 1.1.3 adds performance optimizations for large dynamic nodes to help keep frame rates playable while you are zoomed in on a graph.[9]
- 1.1.3 fixes an edge case where Advanced Contraption Controllers would not output to the HUD of the Linked Goggles when using the HUD nodes.[9]
- In 1.1.3, the Analogue Joystick uses server-side player drag ownership when several players try to use the same joystick at once.[9]
Unverified The 1.1.3 changelog text available here is cut off, so there may be further entries that are not listed above.
