This mod lets your Refined Storage network hold Mekanism chemicals. The progression is built around chemical storage in the tiers 64B, 256B, 1024B and 8192B. You start at the bottom and work your way up, and the pack's quest chain follows exactly that order.[2][3][4]
First: the 64B Chemical Storage Part
Everything starts with the 64B Chemical Storage Part. It is the base component for the 64B disk and block, and it is the task of "64B Chemical Storage Part" quest, the first quest of this mod in the refined_storage_2 chapter.[2][3]

Second: pick a disk or a block
With a part in hand you can make a disk or a block. The mod's own advancement tells you the goal: craft a Chemical Storage Disk and put it in your Disk Drive. The disk is the simplest way to start storing chemicals.[4]

Once the 64B tier is working, the quests walk you up through the higher parts in order. Each quest asks for a part and comes after the one before it.[2]

You can also upgrade a disk or block you already have to a higher tier by combining it with a Chemical Storage Part, so you do not have to start over at each tier.[4]
How does Refined Storage - Mekanism Integration work?

This mod is the bridge that lets Refined Storage hold Mekanism chemicals. Everything it adds in this pack comes down to one idea: chemical storage in four tiers, either as disks for a Disk Drive or as standalone storage blocks. The tiers are 64B, 256B, 1024B and 8192B. There is also a creative block and a creative disk.[3][4]
Disks and blocks
The mod's own advancement sums up the basic loop: craft a Chemical Storage Disk and put it in your Disk Drive. The 64B Chemical Storage Disk is the entry tier, and the 8192B Chemical Storage Disk is the top regular tier.[3][4]
If you would rather not use a Disk Drive, each tier also comes as a block, like the 64B Chemical Storage Block or the 1024B Chemical Storage Block. The item tooltips for both disks and blocks say they store a set number of buckets. The Creative Chemical Storage Block and Creative Chemical Storage Disk store an infinite amount.[3][4]

Everything is built around Chemical Storage Parts. The entry part is made from basic materials, and every higher part is crafted from the part one tier below it, together with a Refined Storage processor and a Mekanism alloy that get better as the tier goes up.[3]

Upgrading and getting parts back
Disks and blocks can be upgraded to a higher tier by combining them with a Chemical Storage Part. They can also be recycled: when a disk is empty, use it while holding it to get the Chemical Storage Part back. An empty block gives back the part and the Machine Casing.[4]
Energy use
The storage blocks use energy, and each tier has its own config option in the common config file. This pack leaves every one of them at the mod default. The values are 2 for chemicalStorageBlock.64bEnergyUsage, 4 for chemicalStorageBlock.256bEnergyUsage, 6 for chemicalStorageBlock.1024bEnergyUsage and 8 for chemicalStorageBlock.8192bEnergyUsage.[4][5]
The Creative Chemical Storage Block has its own option, chemicalStorageBlock.creativeEnergyUsage, which is 16 in this pack and also matches the mod default. Each of these options accepts values from 0 up to 9,223,372,036,854,775,807.[4][5]
How do you progress through Refined Storage - Mekanism Integration?

The storage tiers in this mod are 64B, 256B, 1024B and 8192B. Each tier has a storage part, a disk and a block. The part is the key item, because the disk and the block for every tier are made from it.[3]
The quest path
The pack's Refined Storage 2 quest chapter walks you through the parts in order, from the smallest tier to the largest. These quests have no titles in the pack files. Each one asks you to obtain the part for its tier.[2]
- "64B Chemical Storage Part" quest: get the 64B Chemical Storage Part. It unlocks after an earlier quest in the same chapter.[2]
- "256B Chemical Storage Part" quest: get the 256B Chemical Storage Part. It unlocks after the 64B quest.[2]

Turning parts into disks and blocks
Once you have a part, you can make the matching disk or block. The disks are the 64B Chemical Storage Disk, 256B Chemical Storage Disk, 1024B Chemical Storage Disk and 8192B Chemical Storage Disk. The blocks follow the same pattern, from 64B Chemical Storage Block up to 8192B Chemical Storage Block.[3]
Every disk can be made with a shaped recipe, or with a shapeless recipe that combines a Storage Housing with the part. The shapeless one is handy if you already have housings. Here is the top-tier disk as an example, with both versions.[3]

How does Refined Storage - Mekanism Integration work with other mods?

In this pack, the recipes tie this mod to Mekanism and to base Refined Storage. The chemical storage parts for the larger sizes use Mekanism alloys, and every size of disk and block builds on Refined Storage items.[3]
Mekanism materials in the storage parts
The parts come in the sizes 64B Chemical Storage Part, 256B Chemical Storage Part, 1024B Chemical Storage Part and 8192B Chemical Storage Part. In the recipes I can see, each upgrade from 256B upward pairs a Mekanism alloy with a Refined Storage processor, and both go on top of the previous part. The alloys step up as you go: Infused Alloy, then Reinforced Alloy, then Atomic Alloy. The processors step up too: Basic Processor, Improved Processor and Advanced Processor. Each of these upgrade recipes also asks for an osmium ingot.[3]
