What is IntegratedTunnels?
IntegratedTunnels is part of the pack, and this guide covers it as it ships here: version 1.8.17, using the file IntegratedTunnels-1.18.2-1.8.17.jar.[1]
It is not a new arrival. The pack's mod list shows it was first included in version 2.4 or earlier, so it has been around for a good while.[1]
How do you get started with IntegratedTunnels?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods - Gravitas 4.0 guide
IntegratedTunnels adds parts that move items, fluids and energy around, and the crafting follows one simple chain. You craft an interface, upgrade it into an importer or exporter, then upgrade that into a world version. Here is the order I'd go in, using the real in-pack recipes.[2]
First: the Item Interface
Start with the Part Interface Item. The item, fluid and energy importers and exporters are all crafted from an interface, so it is the base of everything else. The recipe also uses an Integrated Dynamics item, so you will want that part of the pack set up first.[2]

The Item Interface is a shaped recipe, unlike the upgrades that follow.
Next: the Item Importer and Exporter
Next, turn the interface into an Part Importer Item to pull items in, and an Part Exporter Item to push items out. These are shapeless recipes, so you just combine the pieces in the grid.[2]

Then: the world parts
Once those work, you can move on to the world parts. The Part Importer World Item and Part Exporter World Item are each made from the matching item importer or exporter.[2]

The block versions, Part Importer World Block and Part Exporter World Block, build on the item importer and exporter as well. Their recipes also need a diamond pickaxe, so have one ready. The advancements describe the block importer as breaking blocks and the block exporter as placing them.[2][3]

Last: the Player Simulator
The Part Player Simulator comes last. Its recipe needs both world item parts and both world block parts, plus an emerald, so craft it once the rest are done.[2]

If you like a checklist, the mod has advancements for crafting the item interface, importer and exporter, the world item and block parts, and the Player Simulator.[3]
How does IntegratedTunnels work?
8 parts
IntegratedTunnels adds a family of network parts that move items, fluids and energy, plus parts that act on the world around them. They come in a few groups: interfaces, importers, exporters, world versions of the importers and exporters, and the Player Simulator.[3][4]
Interfaces: the foundation
The basic interfaces cover items (Part Interface Item), fluids (Part Interface Fluid) and energy (Part Interface Energy). They are the base for the other parts in the mod.[3][4]
The network can read back what its interfaces expose. You can get the number of valid item or fluid interfaces, a list of every item or fluid stack, the total count, the upper storage limit, and the count of a specific item or fluid.[3]
In this pack the item, fluid and energy interfaces have a base energy consumption of 0 (general.general.interfaceItemBaseConsumption, general.general.interfaceFluidBaseConsumption and general.general.interfaceEnergyBaseConsumption), so they cost nothing to run by themselves.[5]

Filtering interfaces
The filtering versions (Part Interface Filter Item, Part Interface Filter Fluid and Part Interface Filter Energy) are shapeless upgrades of the matching plain interface. They let you decide what passes through. The mod's own advancements suggest some uses: only exposing an inventory's contents during daytime, and only passing items from a certain mod.[3][4]
A filter can apply to insertions into the network, to extractions from the network (including views), or both. There is also an option to pass everything if the filter is disabled for insertion or extraction.[3]

Importers and exporters
Importers pull items, fluids or energy into the network, and exporters push them out. Both exist for items (Part Importer Item, Part Exporter Item), fluids (Part Importer Fluid, Part Exporter Fluid) and energy (Part Importer Energy, Part Exporter Energy).[3][4]

What an importer or exporter does is set by the boolean it receives. For example, the item exporter exports items if the boolean is true, and the fluid and energy versions work the same way. A fluid-typed value can narrow this to a specific fluid.[3]
The advancements show typical setups. You can export items until an inventory holds 10 of them, use the Enchantable Operator to export only enchantable items, or import everything from a list.[3]
Tuning what gets moved
The mod exposes a number of options on these parts. They fall into a few groups:[3]
- Blacklist mode handles everything except the items in the given list. An empty value can be set to match everything, or nothing.[3]
- Exact amount options only move ingredients if the slot holds exactly the given amount. Check-amount options allow only exactly the given stack size, fluid amount or energy amount in one tick, not less.[3]
- Items and fluids have NBT matching options: require NBT, subset, superset and recursive checks of nested tags and lists.[3]
- Passive IO controls whether the target may insert into or extract from the network.[3]
- Round robin iterates interfaces in circular order and ignores priorities.[3]
- The craft option crafts the instance if it is not present in the network.[3]
World parts
The world versions act on blocks, items, fluids, energy and entities in the world. Importers exist as Part Importer World Item, Part Importer World Fluid, Part Importer World Energy and Part Importer World Block. The exporters are Part Exporter World Item, Part Exporter World Fluid, Part Exporter World Energy and Part Exporter World Block.[3][4]
The item, fluid and energy world parts are crafted from the matching non-world importer or exporter. The world block parts are built from the item importer or exporter and also need a diamond pickaxe.[4]

The block parts pick up or place blocks, the item parts pick up items or place them into the world, and the fluid parts pick up or place fluids. The world item, fluid and energy parts can also import from or export to the entities they face. A separate option lets a block only break if it produces drops.[3]
Placement can be fine-tuned. Offsets on each axis take a value between 0 and 1, yaw and pitch run from -180 to 180 degrees, and entity velocity runs from 0 to 25. The entity index picks the n-th entity, and -1 always picks a random one.[3]
Some config options cover overflow and feedback. If a broken block's drops don't all fit into the target, core.general.ejectItemsOnBlockDropOverflow (true in this pack) ejects them into the world instead of voiding them. core.general.worldInteractionEvents (also true) shows particles and plays sounds when tunnels interact with the world.[5]
Player Simulator
The Part Player Simulator simulates a player clicking, either with any item or with an empty hand. You can choose whether a continuous click is simulated (otherwise each click takes one tick) and whether sneaking is simulated. An advancement shows a click with a Diamond Sword as an example.[3][4]

Energy use
Each part has a base energy consumption set in the config. For the world parts and the Player Simulator it depends on whether the part has a variable. These are the values in this pack:[5]
- Plain importers and exporters for items, fluids and energy use 1 each, for example general.general.importerItemBaseConsumption and general.general.exporterFluidBaseConsumption.[5]
- World block, item, fluid and energy importers and exporters use 1 without a variable, for example general.general.importerWorldItemBaseConsumptionDisabled.[5]
- The same world parts use 32 with a variable, for example general.general.importerWorldItemBaseConsumptionEnabled.[5]
- The Player Simulator uses 1 without a variable (general.general.playerSimulatorBaseConsumptionDisabled) and 64 with one (general.general.playerSimulatorBaseConsumptionEnabled).[5]
- The item, fluid and energy interfaces use 0, as covered above.[5]
Throughput and safety settings
- core.general.inventoryUnchangedTickTimeout is 10. That is how many ticks importers and exporters sleep before checking a target again when it was previously unchanged.[5]
- core.general.fluidRateLimit is 2,147,483,647, the maximum network fluid transfer rate.[5]
- core.general.ejectItemsOnInconsistentSimulationMovement is true. If item handlers report inconsistent movement in simulation mode, the items are ejected into the world. If it were disabled, items could be voided.[5]
How do you progress through IntegratedTunnels?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods - Gravitas 4.0 guide
In this pack, IntegratedTunnels parts are built from each other, so your progression is a ladder of crafting recipes: interfaces first, then importers and exporters, then the world versions, and finally the player simulator.[2]
Unverified The sources available for this guide show no quest involving IntegratedTunnels, so this section follows the in-pack crafting recipes only. Check the pack's quest book if you want to know whether the mod is mentioned there.
Interfaces
Everything starts with the interfaces: Part Interface Item, Part Interface Fluid and Part Interface Energy. There is a version for each resource type, and every later part builds on one of them. These interfaces are shaped recipes.[2]

Importers and exporters
Next come the parts that actually move things around. Importers and exporters exist for items, fluids and energy: Part Importer Item, Part Importer Fluid, Part Importer Energy, Part Exporter Item, Part Exporter Fluid and Part Exporter Energy. They are all shapeless recipes built from the matching interface, so make the interface first.[2]

World parts
The world importers and exporters are the next step up from the regular ones: Part Importer World Item, Part Importer World Fluid, Part Importer World Energy, Part Exporter World Item, Part Exporter World Fluid and Part Exporter World Energy. The recipe below shows the world item exporter.[2]

How does IntegratedTunnels work with other mods?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods - Gravitas 4.0 guide
The recipes in this pack tie IntegratedTunnels closely to Integrated Dynamics. Every IntegratedTunnels part recipe in the recipe data uses Integrated Dynamics items, and some also use vanilla Minecraft items. So you need Integrated Dynamics materials before you can build any tunnel part.[2]
Interface parts
The interface parts are the base for the importers and exporters. You get a version for items, fluids and energy: Part Interface Item, Part Interface Fluid and Part Interface Energy. These are shaped recipes, and each uses Crystallized Menril Chunk from Integrated Dynamics. The energy version also uses Energy Battery, and the fluid version uses Bucket.[2]

Importers and exporters
The importers and exporters are shapeless recipes that start from the matching interface part. Importers use Input Variable Transformer, and exporters use Output Variable Transformer. That makes the Integrated Dynamics variable transformers the link between an interface and the importer or exporter built from it.[2]

World variants
The world importers and exporters for items, fluids and energy are crafted with Logic Director. Each is built from the regular importer or exporter of the same type.[2]
The block variants, Part Importer World Block and Part Exporter World Block, also use Logic Director and a vanilla Diamond Pickaxe. They are built from the item importer and item exporter.[2]

Which IntegratedTunnels config options matter?
4 parts
Integrated Tunnels keeps its settings in config/integratedtunnels-common.toml. Below are the options you're most likely to care about and the values this pack sets for them.[5]
Keeping your items safe
The item-safety options are both switched on in this pack, so you're protected from silent item loss in these situations.[5]
- core.general.ejectItemsOnBlockDropOverflow is true. When a tunnel breaks a block and not everything fits into the target, the leftovers are ejected into the world. If it were off, they would be voided.[5]
- core.general.ejectItemsOnInconsistentSimulationMovement is true. If item movement fails because an item handler reports inconsistent movement in simulation mode, the items are ejected into the world. With it disabled, items can be voided.[5]
Speed and feedback
- core.general.inventoryUnchangedTickTimeout is 10. This is how many ticks importers and exporters sleep before checking a target again when it was unchanged last time.[5]
- core.general.fluidRateLimit is 2,147,483,647, which is the maximum network fluid transfer rate.[5]
- core.general.worldInteractionEvents is true, so particles are shown and sounds are played when tunnels interact with the world.[5]
Energy costs
Each part has a base energy usage. The plain item, fluid and energy importers and exporters all use 1, for example general.general.importerItemBaseConsumption and general.general.exporterFluidBaseConsumption. The item, fluid and energy interfaces use 0, for example general.general.interfaceItemBaseConsumption.[5]
The world importers and exporters (block, item, fluid and energy) each have a setting for without a variable and a setting for with a variable. Without a variable they use 1, as in general.general.importerWorldBlockBaseConsumptionDisabled. With a variable they use 32, as in general.general.exporterWorldItemBaseConsumptionEnabled.[5]
The player simulator follows the same pattern but costs more. It uses 1 without a variable (general.general.playerSimulatorBaseConsumptionDisabled) and 64 with one (general.general.playerSimulatorBaseConsumptionEnabled).[5]
Housekeeping
core.general.analytics and core.general.versionChecker are both true in this pack. Analytics allows an anonymous mod startup analytics request, and the version checker is enabled.[5]
