What is Advanced TFC Tech Unofficial?
1 part
Advanced TFC Tech Unofficial is a machine mod, and the pack ships version 1.8. Its in-game guide describes it as "Machines for large-scale production". The machines covered here each form a structure when you right click them with an Engineer's Hammer.[1][2][3][4][5]
What the machines do
- Grist Mill: grinds raw grain into more edible flour. You can feed it from the top with a Hopper or a Dropping Conveyor Belt.[3]
- Thresher: separates chaff from grain using rotating cylinders and mechanical power. It takes input from the top the same way, with a Hopper or a Dropping Conveyor Belt.[5]
- Power Loom: automates weaving. Pirns spooled with your chosen yarn or fiber go on the holder at the side of the machine. Before it runs, the loom must be primed with 16 of the selected yarn or fiber.[4]
The in-game guide lists a default consumption of 80 IF/t for the Grist Mill, the Thresher and the Power Loom. The sources here don't show whether the pack changes that, so treat 80 IF/t as the mod's default rather than a confirmed pack value.[3][4][5]
How do you get started with Advanced TFC Tech Unofficial?
5 parts
Advanced TFC Tech is all about machines for large-scale production. The machines you can build are the Thresher, the Grist Mill and the Power Loom. The Power Loom has the longest crafting chain, so this section follows that path first.[2][3][4][5][6]
First: make a Pirn
The Pirn is what the loom's shuttle carries, spooled with yarn, so every loom job starts with one. Craft it first.[4][7]

Next: wind it with the material you want
The loom needs pirns spooled with the yarn or fiber you want to weave. Each winded pirn has its own recipe, so pick the one that matches the cloth you're after.[4][7]

The mod has an advancement for crafting all the winded pirns, so you can use that as a checklist.[6]
Then: build and prime the Power Loom
- Form the structure by right-clicking the Light Engineering Block above the Block of Steel with an Engineer's Hammer.[4]
- Put the pirns spooled with your chosen yarn or fiber on the holder at the side of the machine.[4]
- Prime the loom with 16 of the selected yarn or fiber by right-clicking the 'grill' in the center of the machine with it.[4]
- Add input yarn or fiber the same way, on the lower beam on the machine's shorter side.[4]
- Take the output with a storage device placed in the center of the output side, or shift-right-click the back.[4]
What the loom makes
Each loom recipe takes a winded pirn plus more of the same material. You get the cloth back along with an empty Pirn, so you can wind it again and keep reusing it. These are the loom recipes in this pack:[7]

The other machines
- Thresher: it separates chaff from grain. Form it by right-clicking the Light Engineering Block in the middle layer, opposite the Steel Sheetmetal, with an Engineer's Hammer. Feed it from the top with a Hopper or a Dropping Conveyor Belt.[5]
- Grist Mill: it grinds raw grain into flour. Form it by right-clicking the Block of Steel from the side opposite the Redstone Engineering Block with an Engineer's Hammer. It takes items from the top, just like the Thresher.[3]
The in-game guide gives both machines a default draw of 80 IF/t. Each machine also has a story advancement for forming it.[3][5][6]
How does Advanced TFC Tech Unofficial work?
7 parts
Advanced TFC Tech adds machines for large-scale production. In this pack that means the Grist Mill, the Thresher and the Power Loom, each of them a multiblock. The mod also has an advancement for forming each one, so you get credit as you build them.[2][6]
Building the multiblocks
Each machine is formed the same way: you build the structure, then right-click a specific block with an Engineer's Hammer. Which block you click depends on the machine.[3][4][5]
- Grist Mill: right-click the Block of Steel from the side opposite the Redstone Engineering Block.[3]
- Thresher: right-click the Light Engineering Block in the middle layer, on the side opposite the Steel Sheetmetal.[5]
- Power Loom: right-click the Light Engineering Block that sits above the Block of Steel.[4]
Power
The in-game guide says the Grist Mill, the Thresher and the Power Loom each consume 80 IF/t by default. Plan your power supply around that figure.[3][4][5]
Grist Mill and Thresher
The Thresher separates chaff from grain using rotating cylinders and mechanical power. The Grist Mill grinds raw grain into more edible flour. Both accept items from the top, so you can feed them with a Hopper or a Dropping Conveyor Belt.[3][5]
That makes a simple grain line possible: thresh your crops first, then mill the grain. The mod even has advancements for obtaining a full stack of every grain and a full stack of every flour.[3][5][6]
Power Loom
The Power Loom automates weaving. A shuttle holding a pirn spooled with yarn is sent back and forth between two perpendicular sets of strung yarn.[4]
- Put pirns spooled with your chosen yarn or fiber on the holder at the side of the machine.[4]
- Prime the loom with 16 of the selected yarn or fiber. Right-click with it on the grill in the center of the machine.[4]
- Add input yarn or fiber the same way, by right-clicking on the lower beam on the machine's shorter side.[4]
- Collect the output with a storage device placed in the center of the output side, or shift-right-click the back of the machine.[4]
Pirns
Everything the loom does runs on pirns. You craft a plain Pirn first, then wind it with a material to make a winded pirn.[7]

The winded pirns are Fiber-Winded Pirn, Wool-Winded Pirn, Silk-Winded Pirn and Pineapple-Winded Pirn. Their recipes are shown below, and there is an advancement for crafting all Winded Pirns.[6][7]

Loom recipes
Each Power Loom recipe takes a matching winded pirn plus the same kind of yarn or fiber, and gives back an empty Pirn along with the finished material. Your pirns aren't used up, you just wind them again.[7]

Config
This pack sets only a client config for the mod, and both options are left empty. compatibility.additionalPowerLoomClothTextures is only needed if you add a Power Loom recipe with a custom in-progress texture. compatibility.additionalPowerLoomPirnTextures is only needed if you add a custom pirn to a Power Loom recipe. In both cases the textures must come from a resource pack, not a datapack.[8]
How do you progress through Advanced TFC Tech Unofficial?
5 parts
The sources for this mod don't lay out formal tiers, so I won't invent any. What they do show is a clear textile chain: you craft a pirn, wind it with a fiber or yarn, then feed it into the Power Loom to turn yarn into cloth. That chain is the progression path you can follow in this pack.[4][7]
First, craft a pirn
Everything starts with the Pirn. It's a crafting-table recipe, and the Power Loom hands you a pirn back after each cloth recipe, so you aren't constantly rebuilding them.[7]

Then, wind the pirn
A pirn on its own does nothing in the loom. You wind it with a material, and each winding gives a different pirn: Fiber-Winded Pirn, Wool-Winded Pirn, Silk-Winded Pirn and Pineapple-Winded Pirn.[7]

Finally, weave in the Power Loom
The Power Loom takes a matching winded pirn plus the same kind of yarn or fiber and produces cloth. The fiber, wool and silk pirns give burlap, wool and silk cloth. The pineapple pirn gives you pineapple leather instead.[7]

Getting the loom running
- Form the multiblock by right-clicking the Light Engineering Block above the Block of Steel with an Engineer's Hammer.[4]
- Put pirns spooled with your chosen yarn or fiber on the holder at the side of the machine.[4]
- Prime the loom with 16 of the selected yarn or fiber by right-clicking the 'grill' in the center of the machine.[4]
- Add input yarn or fiber the same way, on the lower beam on the machine's shorter side.[4]
- Collect the output with a storage device placed in the center of the output side, or by shift-right-clicking the back.[4]
Other machines in the mod
The in-game guide also covers the Thresher, which separates chaff from grain, and the Grist Mill, which turns raw grain into flour. Both take items from the top, from a Hopper or a Dropping Conveyor Belt. They don't depend on the pirn chain, so you can set them up whenever you need them.[3][5]
The in-game guide lists a default draw of 80 IF/t for the Power Loom, the Thresher and the Grist Mill. That figure is the mod's default as stated in the guide.[3][4][5]
How does Advanced TFC Tech Unofficial work with other mods?
2 parts
In this pack, the mod's clearest links to other mods are its Power Loom textile recipes. They use items from TFC and Firmalife: you wind a Pirn with fiber or yarn, then feed it into the loom to get cloth or leather.[7]
Winding pirns with TFC and Firmalife materials
Each wound pirn is crafted from an empty Pirn plus a fiber or yarn from another mod. The in-pack recipes use Jute Fiber and Wool Yarn from TFC, and Pineapple Yarn from Firmalife.[7]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: advancedtfctech:crafting/fiber_winded_pirn
Gives the Fiber-Winded Pirn, made with TFC jute fiber.

Weaving in the Power Loom
The Power Loom pairs a wound pirn with matching loose fiber or yarn. It returns the empty Pirn along with the finished product, so you can wind it again.[4][7]
- Fiber-Winded Pirn plus Jute Fiber makes Burlap Cloth.[7]
- Wool-Winded Pirn plus Wool Yarn makes Wool Cloth.[7]
- Pineapple-Winded Pirn plus Pineapple Yarn makes Pineapple Leather.[7]
- Silk-Winded Pirn plus String makes Silk Cloth.[7]

Which Advanced TFC Tech Unofficial config options matter?
1 part
Good news: there isn't much you need to tweak here. The only config the pack gives us for Advanced TFC Tech Unofficial is the client file config/advancedtfctech-client.toml, and it has just two options. Both are in the compatibility group and only matter for custom Power Loom recipes.[8]
Power Loom texture options
- compatibility.additionalPowerLoomClothTextures is set to an empty list in this pack. You only need to fill it in if a Power Loom recipe uses a custom "in_progress_texture", because those textures have to be registered here.[8]
- compatibility.additionalPowerLoomPirnTextures is also an empty list in this pack. You only need it if a Power Loom recipe uses a custom "pirn" (the second item in the recipe's input list). In that case you add the pirn's registry name together with its texture location.[8]
The format for the cloth list is a list of texture locations like ["domain:texture_location1", "domain:texture_location2"]. The pirn list takes pairs of registry name and texture location, like [["domain:registry_name1", "domain:texture_location1"]].[8]
Unverified The sources don't show the mod's default values for these options, so it's unverified whether the pack changed anything from the default. They also don't show any gameplay or server-side config for this mod, so nothing about machine speeds or energy use is confirmed here.
