What is Mining Gadgets?
Same as in the All the Mods - Gravitas 4.0 guide
Mining Gadgets is included in this pack at version 1.11.1. That is the version you'll be playing with.[1]
I can only confirm that the mod is installed. The pack's sources don't say what it does in this pack, who it's meant for, or where it fits in progression, so I'm not going to guess at any of that.[1]
Unverified No quests, ATM Star path entries, recipe changes or config changes for Mining Gadgets could be confirmed from the available sources. Check in-game, for example in the recipe viewer, before relying on any specific behavior. This site does hold All the Mods 11's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with Mining Gadgets?
4 parts
Mining Gadgets adds a handheld mining tool that you improve with upgrade modules. In this pack there are three versions of the tool: Mining Gadget MK1 (MK1), Mining Gadget MK2 (MK2) and Mining Gadget MK3 (MK3). Each one has its own crafting recipe.[2]
Step 1: Craft a Mining Gadget
Start with the MK1 gadget. It is the first of the three versions and the one to build first. The recipe below is the exact one used in this pack.[2]
Crafting Shaped
| any diamond gem | any iron ingot | any gold ingot |
| any diamond gem | any redstone dust | |
| any diamond gem | any iron ingot | any iron ingot |
Recipe id: mininggadgets:mininggadget_simple
MK2 and MK3 have their own separate recipes, so you can look them up whenever you want to move up. The sources I have don't say how the three versions differ in stats, so I'm not going to guess.[2]
Step 2: Build the Modification Table
Next, make the Modification Table. This is where you fit upgrades to your gadget. The upgrade screen tells you to shift-click an upgrade from your inventory slots to insert it, or to drop it onto the screen. Click an installed upgrade to remove it.[2][3]

| any iron ingot | any iron ingot | any iron ingot |
| any redstone dust | any redstone dust | |
| any iron ingot | any iron ingot | any iron ingot |

Step 3: Make Blank Upgrade Modules
The Blank Upgrade Module (Blank Upgrade Module) has a recipe added by the pack's own scripts, so use the one below. The sources don't show how the blank module relates to the other upgrade recipes.[2]
Shaped (kubejs)
| any redstone storage block | any allthemodium nugget | any lapi storage blocks |
| any diamond gem | any glass panes | any diamond gem |
| any lapi storage blocks | any allthemodium nugget | any redstone storage block |
Recipe id: kubejs:kjs/mininggadgets_upgrade_empty
Step 4: Pick your first upgrades
The mod has many upgrades, and each has its own recipe. Examples are Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 1, Upgrade: Magnet, Upgrade: Silk touch, Upgrade: Fortune, Tier 1, Upgrade: Battery, Tier 1 and Upgrade: Light Placer. There are also the three size upgrades (Upgrade: 3x3, Upgrade: 5x5 and Upgrade: 7x7) and three range upgrades (Upgrade: Range, Tier 1 to Upgrade: Range, Tier 3).[2]
Unverified The sources don't list the ingredients for the gadgets, the table or the upgrades, and no quests in this pack involve this mod. I can't confirm the best upgrade order, the energy use of each gadget, or whether MK2 and MK3 need the earlier version. Check the recipe viewer in-game for the exact materials. This site does hold All the Mods 11's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How does Mining Gadgets work?
5 parts
Mining Gadgets doesn't have machines, multiblocks or pipes to hook up. It's a handheld tool you customise with upgrade items. The pack's sources only cover the basics of how that works, so this section is short on purpose.[2][3]
Gadget tiers
There are three versions of the tool: Mining Gadget MK1, Mining Gadget MK2 and Mining Gadget MK3. Each has its own crafting recipe in the pack. The sources don't say how the three differ in stats, so check that in-game.[2]
Installing upgrades
Upgrades go in through the Modification Table. Its screen tells you to shift-click an upgrade from your inventory slots to insert it, or to drop an upgrade onto the screen. To take one back out, click it.[2][3]
If a gadget has no upgrades available, the screen says so. Hold shift while looking at a gadget's tooltip to see the upgrades it has installed. The tooltip also shows a Per Block Cost line, which tells you what each broken block costs.[3]
Upgrade families
The pack has these upgrade items. Each has its own recipe, so you can look any of them up in-game.[2]
- Battery: Upgrade: Battery, Tier 1, Upgrade: Battery, Tier 2 and Upgrade: Battery, Tier 3.[2]
- Efficiency: five tiers, from Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 1 up to Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 5.[2]
- Fortune: Upgrade: Fortune, Tier 1, Upgrade: Fortune, Tier 2 and Upgrade: Fortune, Tier 3.[2]
- Range: Upgrade: Range, Tier 1, Upgrade: Range, Tier 2 and Upgrade: Range, Tier 3.[2]
- Size: Upgrade: 3x3, Upgrade: 5x5 and Upgrade: 7x7.[2]
- Single upgrades: Upgrade: Silk touch, Upgrade: Freezing, Upgrade: Light Placer, Upgrade: Magnet and Upgrade: Void Junk.[2]
Screen settings
The Freezing upgrade has a delay setting. By default it spawns one freeze particle every tick. If that's too many particles, add more delay to cut the amount down.[3]
The upgrade screen also shows a Precision Mode value. The sources don't explain what it does.[3]
Blank Upgrade Module
This pack adds its own recipe, through KubeJS, for the Blank Upgrade Module. Here it is:[2]
Shaped (kubejs)
| any redstone storage block | any allthemodium nugget | any lapi storage blocks |
| any diamond gem | any glass panes | any diamond gem |
| any lapi storage blocks | any allthemodium nugget | any redstone storage block |
Recipe id: kubejs:kjs/mininggadgets_upgrade_empty
Unverified Energy capacity and use, the exact effect of each upgrade, how the three gadget tiers differ, and how the gadget charges or works with other mods' automation aren't covered by the available sources, so they aren't described here.
How do you progress through Mining Gadgets?
3 parts
The Mining Gadget comes in three versions in this pack: Mining Gadget MK1 (MK1), Mining Gadget MK2 (MK2) and Mining Gadget MK3 (MK3). Each has its own crafting recipe, so you can see exactly what each one asks for before you commit.[2]

The Blank Upgrade Module is different from the rest: its recipe is added by the pack through KubeJS rather than coming from the mod itself.[2]

This Blank Upgrade Module recipe is added by the pack.
Upgrade tiers
Most upgrades come in numbered tiers, and every tier has its own recipe. Here is the full list from the pack's recipes.[2]
- Efficiency has five tiers, from Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 1 to Upgrade: Efficiency, Tier 5.[2]
- Battery has three tiers, from Upgrade: Battery, Tier 1 to Upgrade: Battery, Tier 3.[2]
- Fortune has three tiers, from Upgrade: Fortune, Tier 1 to Upgrade: Fortune, Tier 3.[2]
- Range has three tiers, from Upgrade: Range, Tier 1 to Upgrade: Range, Tier 3.[2]
- Size has three steps: Upgrade: 3x3 (3x3), Upgrade: 5x5 (5x5) and Upgrade: 7x7 (7x7).[2]
Single-tier upgrades
Five upgrades have just one recipe each and no numbered tiers: Upgrade: Freezing, Upgrade: Light Placer, Upgrade: Magnet, Upgrade: Silk touch and Upgrade: Void Junk.[2]
Unverified No quests in this pack involve Mining Gadgets, and the mod is not on the ATM Star quest path, so the sources here show no quest-guided progression for it. The tiers above come straight from the in-pack recipes.
