What is Macaw's Lights and Lamps?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.38 guide
Macaw's Lights and Lamps is a decoration mod that gives you vanilla-styled light sources beyond the ones in the base game. Think of it as a lighting upgrade for your builds: it is all about making your world brighter and better looking.[1]
What it adds
- Tiki torches, street lamp posts, ceiling lights, lamps and paper lamps.[1]
- Wall lanterns, new torches, light slabs and lanterns.[1]
- Ceiling fan lights, candle holders and chandeliers.[1]
Lamps, street lights, tiki torches and ceiling lights can be made as tall as you want, from a 1 block tall lamp up to a 54 block tall one. You can also turn any of these lights on and off with a right click.[1]
Who it is for
If you like to build, this mod is for you. It is a simple decoration mod, so it suits anyone who wants lighting that looks better than torches and lanterns alone, whether that is a lit street, a tiki-style patio or a chandelier over your dining room.[1]
In this pack
The pack ships Macaw's Lights and Lamps 1.1.1, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod has been in the pack since version 0.32 or earlier, so it is a long-standing part of the mod list.[2]
Unverified No quests in this pack involve the mod, it is not on the ATM Star quest path, and no in-jar guidebook was found. Treat it as an optional building and decoration mod rather than a progression step. The sources do not confirm how its items are crafted in this pack, so check the recipe viewer in-game. This site does hold All the Mods 11's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with Macaw's Lights and Lamps?
3 parts
Macaw's Lights and Lamps is a simple mod that adds vanilla-styled light sources: tiki torches, street lamp posts, ceiling lights, lamps, paper lamps, wall lanterns, new torches, light slabs, lanterns, ceiling fan lights, candle holders and chandeliers. Everything is crafted at the crafting table, so you can start decorating as soon as you have materials.[1][3]
Step 1: a new torch
Start with the Framed Torch. The mod lists new torches as one of its light sources, and this one is a good way to see how the lights look next to vanilla blocks. The pack uses the mod's own recipe for it, and the block below shows it exactly.[1][3]

If you want a metal look, there is also the Iron Framed Torch.[1][3]

Step 2: light slabs and lamps
Next, try the Glowstone Slab. Light slabs are another category the mod adds.[1][3]

After that, make a lamp. There is a lamp for each colour, for example the Blue Lamp.[1][3]

Then go tall with street lamps and tiki torches
Once you are comfortable, build outdoor lighting. The Street Lamp Post (shown in game as Street Lamp Post) and the Bamboo Tiki Torch both have in-pack recipes.[1][3]

Some lights also show a tooltip saying you can right-click them with any dye to recolor them.[4]
How does Macaw's Lights and Lamps work?
4 parts
Good news: there's very little to learn here. Macaw's Lights and Lamps describes itself as a very simple mod that adds light sources such as tiki torches, street lamp posts, ceiling lights, lamps, paper lamps, wall lanterns, light slabs, lanterns, ceiling fan lights, candle holders and chandeliers. The sources I have describe no machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation for it, so this section covers the few interactions the mod does have.[1]
Switching lights on and off
Everything in the mod can be turned off and on with a right click. You control the lights by hand, no wiring needed.[1]
Building taller
Some blocks can be built taller by placing another one on top of the first. The in-game tooltip says this for stackable lights and also for tiki torches, such as the Bamboo Tiki Torch and Birch Tiki Torch.[3][4]
The project page says lamps, street lights, tiki torches and ceiling lights can be made as tall as you want, from a 1 block tall lamp up to a 54 block tall one. I can't confirm any height limit in this pack, so treat that 54 block example as the mod's own.[1]
Recoloring
Dyeable blocks show a tooltip that says to right-click with any dye to recolor them. The sources don't list which items are dyeable, so check each item's tooltip in game.[4]
Crafting
In this pack, the mod's items are made with ordinary crafting recipes, some shaped and some shapeless. For example, the wall lanterns such as the Bell Wall Lantern are shapeless, while the tiki torches are shaped. Here is a tiki torch as an example:[3]
Crafting Shaped
| Torch |

This tiki torch is a shaped crafting recipe in this pack.
Unverified No config files for this mod are available for this pack, so the sources here do not show whether any light levels, stack heights or other values were changed from the mod's defaults.
How do you progress through Macaw's Lights and Lamps?
2 parts
Macaw's Lights and Lamps does not have a real progression ladder in this pack. The recipes listed for it are all marked as the mod's own recipes, and they are shaped or shapeless crafting recipes. Nothing in the recipe data shows the pack changing them. The closest thing to a tier list is sorting the items by material.[3]
Metal tiers: copper, iron and gold
The clearest material ladder is the candle holder and chandelier set, which comes in copper, iron and gold. Copper has the Copper Candle Holder, Copper Small Chandelier and Copper Chandelier. Iron has the Iron Candle Holder, Iron Small Chandelier and Iron Chandelier. Gold has the Golden Candle Holder, Golden Small Chandelier and Golden Chandelier. Each metal also has double, triple, low and wall candle holder variants.[3]

Other families
- Wood-type sets: many wood types get a tiki torch and a ceiling fan light, for example the Oak Tiki Torch and Oak Ceiling Fan Light. Bamboo has a tiki torch too, and the Soul Acacia Tiki Torch is a soul variant.[3]
- Dye-colour sets: lamps, paper lamps and ceiling lights come in the standard colours, such as the Blue Lamp, Blue Paper Lamp and Blue Ceiling Light. The paper lamps are shapeless recipes.[3]
- Lanterns: the bell, chain, covered, cross and festive styles each have a standing version and a wall version, like the Bell Lantern and Bell Wall Lantern. The wall versions are shapeless recipes.[3]
- Torches and outdoor lights: the Framed Torch, Iron Framed Torch, Reinforced Torch and Rustic Torch, plus the Garden Light, Round Garden Light and street lamps such as the Street Lamp Post.[3]
- Light-block slabs: the Glowstone Slab, Sea Lantern Slab, Shroomlight Slab and Redstone Lamp Slab.[3]
Unverified The sources here show no quest involving this mod and no place for it on a set progression path. Check the pack's quest book to see whether it says anything about these lights.
