What is Construction Sticks?
Construction Sticks is part of the pack, and this version ships Construction Sticks 3.2.1 (the file is ConstructionSticks-26.1.2-3.2.1.jar).[1]
It is not a recent addition. It was first included in version 0.0.1 or earlier, so it has been there for the whole life of the pack.[1]
Unverified Which quest chapter or group the pack's quest book places Construction Sticks in, what comes before and after it, and whether the ATM Star path uses it are not shown in the sources here. Check the pack's quest book for those details.
How do you get started with Construction Sticks?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide
Construction Sticks let you extend a building quickly by placing a row of blocks at once. In this pack the first goal is simple: craft a stick, learn the controls, then pick the upgrades you want. The mod even has an advancement for the first step, "Craft any Construction Stick".[2]
First, craft the Stickiest Stick
Start with the Stickiest Stick. In this pack it has a shaped crafting recipe, shown here:[2][3]

Once you have it, the stick places blocks at the side of a building that is facing you. Shulker boxes, bundles and many containers from other mods can supply building blocks for it. If you hold a block in your offhand, the stick places that block instead of the one you are looking at.[2]
Next, learn the controls before you build big
- Press the bound lock key to change the placement restriction: Horizontal, Vertical, North/South, East/West or No lock.[2]
- Open the option screen with its own bound key. It has settings such as replacing fluids, snow and tallgrass, and placing random blocks from your hotbar.[2]
- Hold the bound undo key while looking at blocks to see your last placements outlined in green. Press the undo key while looking at any of them to undo the operation and get the items back.[2]
Then make a Stick Template
The Stick Template is the base template item, and the recipe is shown below. The upgrade templates each have their own crafting recipes too. The higher stick tiers (Copper Stick, Iron Stick, Diamond Stick and Netherite Stick) are made through smithing transform recipes.[3]

Smithing Transform

The Copper Stick is made with a smithing transform recipe.
Finally, pick an upgrade
There is a template for each upgrade. The Angel Stick Template places a block on the opposite side of the block or row you are facing, so you can build in mid-air. The Battery Template lets the stick use energy instead of durability. The Destruction Stick Template destroys blocks on the side facing you.[2][3]
The Replacement Stick Template swaps blocks for the type you hold in your offhand, which is handy for replacing walls after placement. The Unbreakable Template lets you place blocks without using durability, so the stick never breaks.[2][3]
To apply an upgrade, put the template, your stick and the required item together in a Smithing Table. To switch between upgrades, press the bound switch key while holding the stick, or use the option screen. Here is the Angel upgrade on the Stickiest Stick:[2][3]

How does Construction Sticks work?
7 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.8.0-beta guide
Construction Sticks is a family of handheld building tools. This section covers how the sticks place blocks, what each upgrade changes, and how undo and inventory access work.[2][3]
Basic placement
A stick extends a building on the side facing you. It places several blocks at once, and how many, plus how long the stick lasts, depends on the stick you hold. The tooltip fills in those values in game, but the sources here don't show them, so check the tooltip on your own stick.[2]
You can change the placement restriction with a bound key, or open the option screen with another bound key. The lock modes are Horizontal, Vertical, North/South, East/West and No lock.[2]
- Horizontal builds a horizontal column in front of the original block, and Vertical builds a vertical column in front of it.[2]
- North/South and East/West build a row in that direction on top of the original block.[2]
- No lock extends from any side of the original block.[2]
Option screen settings
- Direction: blocks can be placed facing the player, or with the same direction as the target block.[2]
- Match: Exact only extends blocks that are exactly the same. Similar treats similar blocks, such as dirt and grass types, as equal.[2]
- Random: when on, the stick places random blocks from your hotbar. When off, it doesn't randomize.[2]
- Replace: when on, the stick replaces certain blocks like fluids, snow and tallgrass.[2]
Where the blocks come from
Shulker boxes, bundles and many containers from other mods can supply building blocks to the stick. Blocks in your offhand take priority: the stick places those instead of the block you're looking at.[2]
Undo
Hold the bound undo-preview key while looking at blocks and the last blocks you placed get a green border. Press the bound undo key while looking at any of them to undo the operation and get the items back. If you used the Destruction upgrade, undo restores the destroyed blocks.[2]
Upgrades
Upgrades are applied in a Smithing Table. You put the upgrade template, your stick and the required item together. The Smithing Table recipes show which item is required. To switch between installed upgrades, press the bound key while holding the stick, or use the option screen.[2]
The pack has a smithing upgrade recipe for every combination of the Copper, Iron, Diamond and Netherite sticks with each of the five upgrade templates. The Stick Template is its own crafting recipe.[3]

Smithing Upgrade (constructionstick)
Recipe id: constructionstick:smithing_upgrade/iron_stick_with_template_angel
One example of a smithing upgrade recipe, here for the Iron Stick with the Angel template.
- Angel Stick Template places a block on the opposite side of the block or row you are facing. Right-click empty space to place a block in midair, with the block you want to place in your offhand. The maximum distance depends on the stick tier.[2][3]
- The Angel upgrade also lets you place blocks below you while you fall more than 10 blocks. That can save you from drops or the void.[2]
- Battery Template lets the stick use energy instead of durability. The stick can store energy, but you can only charge it if another mod provides a way to do so.[2][3]
- Destruction Stick Template destroys blocks on the side facing you, but not block entities. The maximum number of blocks depends on the stick tier. Destroyed blocks disappear into the void, so use undo if you make a mistake.[2][3]
- Replacement Stick Template swaps blocks for the block type in your offhand, which is handy for replacing walls after placing them.[2][3]
- Unbreakable Template lets you place blocks without using durability, so the stick never breaks.[2][3]
The stick tiers
The sticks are Stickiest Stick, Copper Stick, Iron Stick, Diamond Stick and Netherite Stick. Their in-pack recipes are shown below.[3]

Configuration
The mod's config tooltips describe options for the maximum placement range, the number of undoable operations, a block entity whitelist or blacklist, a list of blocks treated as equal in Similar mode, and whether sticks can be upgraded at all. They also cover the Angel distance limit, the Destruction block limit and the battery's storage and usage per block. The maximum placement range option is described as a lag-prevention setting that affects all sticks.[2]
Unverified No config files for this mod are available for the pack, so the actual values for range, undo history, block limits, battery storage and battery usage can't be confirmed here. Per-tier block counts and durability are also unconfirmed.
How do you progress through Construction Sticks?
5 parts
The stick tiers in this pack run from the Stickiest Stick (shown in game as Stickiest Stick) through the Copper Stick, Iron Stick and Diamond Stick up to the Netherite Stick. The mod's own tag groups all of these together as construction sticks.[4]
Unverified Whether the pack's quest book guides you through this mod is not shown in the sources here. Quest progression for Construction Sticks would be told in the pack's quest chapters. The tiers below come straight from the in-pack recipes instead.
Starting out: the Stickiest Stick
The Stickiest Stick is the entry point, and it can be made with a regular shaped crafting recipe. There is also a smithing recipe that produces it.[5]

Applying templates to a stick
Every stick tier, from wooden to netherite, has a smithing upgrade recipe for each of the specialised templates above. Each recipe outputs a stick of the same tier. Here is the copper stick with the Angel template as an example; the other combinations follow the same naming pattern.[5]

Compatibility notes
The mod's data tags mark the Powah! reactor blocks, from the starter reactor up to the nitro reactor, as non-placable, and the non-replaceable tag includes that group. The Sophisticated Backpacks backpacks, from the plain backpack up to the netherite one, are listed in the mod's blacklisted inventories tag for Sophisticated Backpacks.[6][7][8]
