What is Camol?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 5.2 guide

Camol is part of this pack's mod list, running version 1.21.1-0.3.0 (the file camol-1.21.1-0.3.0.jar). If you've spotted it in your mods folder and wondered what it's doing there, that's the version you've got.[1]

Unverified There isn't reliable information yet on what Camol actually adds, who it's aimed at, or how it ties into the pack's progression. There's no in-game guidebook for it, and no quests in the pack involve it, so this section will be expanded once we can confirm its features.

How do you get started with Camol?

3 parts

Camol is a small mod, and getting started with it is quick. In this pack its recipes revolve around the Camo Block and the Shape Retaining Camo Block, so those are the items to learn first.[2]

First: craft the Camo Block

Start with the Camo Block. It is made with a normal shaped crafting recipe, so you can make it at a regular crafting table. The recipe below is shown exactly as it appears in this pack.[2]

Next: convert it to the Shape Retaining version

Camol has its own conversion crafting recipe type. One of its recipes produces the Shape Retaining Camo Block, and the recipe id shows that it converts the normal camo block.[2]

Changed your mind? Convert it back

The conversion also goes the other way. If you want a plain Camo Block again, this recipe converts the Shape Retaining Camo Block back.[2]

      How does Camol work?

      2 parts

Camol is a small mod in this pack, and the sources only cover its crafting. I can't confirm any machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item-automation systems for it, so this section stays short.[2]

      The camo blocks

Camol adds the Camo Block and the Shape Retaining Camo Block, which is the Shape Retaining Camo Block.[2]

The Camo Block is made with a normal shaped crafting recipe. This is the recipe as it exists in the pack:[2]

      4× Camo BlockMod recipe

      Crafting Shaped

      Crafting Shaped
any red dyeEmpty slotany green dye
      Empty slotany blue dyeEmpty slot
any black dyeEmpty slotany white dye

      Recipe id: camol:camo_item

This is a standard shaped crafting recipe.

      Converting between the types

The pack also has conversion recipes that use a Camol-specific crafting type. Each of them produces a camo block: the Shape Retaining Camo Block comes out of the first recipe below, and the regular Camo Block comes out of the second.[2]

      Convert Camo Crafting (camol)

        Recipe id: camol:convert_normal_camo_item

This conversion recipe produces the Shape Retaining Camo Block.

        Camo BlockMod recipe

        Convert Camo Crafting (camol)

          Recipe id: camol:convert_solid_camo_item

This conversion recipe produces the regular Camo Block.

Unverified How the camo blocks behave in the world is not shown by the sources here. That includes what Shape Retaining changes and how a conversion treats the block you put in. No guidebook, tooltip text, config file or documentation for Camol was available.

How do you progress through Camol?

          2 parts

Camol has no tier ladder in this pack. The recipe data shows only a Camo Block and a Shape Retaining Camo Block, so there is nothing to climb through.[2]

          The camo blocks

You start with the Camo Block. It uses a normal shaped crafting recipe, shown below.[2]

          4× Camo BlockMod recipe

          Crafting Shaped

          Crafting Shaped
any red dyeEmpty slotany green dye
          Empty slotany blue dyeEmpty slot
any black dyeEmpty slotany white dye

          Recipe id: camol:camo_item

The Shape Retaining Camo Block is not crafted from scratch. The pack has a Camol conversion recipe that turns a Camo Block into a Shape Retaining Camo Block.[2]

          Convert Camo Crafting (camol)

            Recipe id: camol:convert_normal_camo_item

The conversion also runs backwards. A separate conversion recipe turns the Shape Retaining Camo Block back into a regular Camo Block.[2]

            Convert Camo Crafting (camol)

              Recipe id: camol:convert_solid_camo_item

What this means for your progression

Craft the Camo Block, then convert it if you want the Shape Retaining version. Both conversion recipes use Camol's own crafting type.[2]

Unverified The sources here do not show any quests for this mod, so where Camol fits in the pack's quest book is not covered in this section.
