What is XyCraft Override?
XyCraft Override is included in this pack at version 0.7.45, shipped as the file xycraft_override-0.7.45.jar. Its registry namespace is xycraft_override.[1]
It has been part of the pack for a while. It first appeared in version 2.2 of the pack or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
Unverified The sources I have only confirm that the mod is in the pack and which version it is. They don't describe what the mod adds, who it's best suited for, or where it fits in the progression, so I'm not going to guess. I also can't confirm any quests involving this mod or a place for it on the ATM Star path.
How do you get started with XyCraft Override?
5 parts
XyCraft Override gives you colored versions of familiar vanilla building blocks, in Blue, Dark, Green, Light and Red. Every recipe the sources show for it combines a vanilla block (or planks) with a Xychorium Gem of the color you want. So your first steps are to pick a color and then pick a block to recolor.[2]
Pick your gem color
The gem color decides which variant you get. A Blue Xychorium Gem makes the blue version, a Red one makes the red version, and so on. The recipes for this mod use the Xychorium Gems from the xycraft_world namespace, so you need them in hand before you craft anything.[2]
Make a colored brick block
Start with the colored bricks. They are a simple test of how the recolor system works before you spend more gems. Here is Blue Bricks. The other colors, such as Red Bricks, follow the same pattern with their matching gem.[2]

Vanilla bricks plus a Blue Xychorium Gem give Blue Bricks; swap the gem color for the other variants.
Recolor chiseled blocks
Next, try the chiseled blocks. This mod has colored versions of chiseled stone bricks, sandstone, red sandstone, deepslate, nether bricks, polished blackstone, tuff and tuff bricks. Each is crafted from its vanilla chiseled block plus a gem. Here is Blue Chiseled Stone Bricks as an example.[2]

Vanilla chiseled stone bricks plus a Blue Xychorium Gem give the blue variant.
Try the wood pillar
The wood pillar is a little different. Blue Chiseled Wood Pillar is made from a Blue Xychorium Gem and any planks, so you can use whatever wood you have on hand.[2]

Good to know
Some blocks in this mod, such as smooth polished tuff and smooth smooth stone, have a tooltip that reads "Has connected texture". Look for that tooltip when you compare blocks.[3]
How does XyCraft Override work?
2 parts
Here's the honest picture for this mod: in this pack, the sources only show XyCraft Override as a set of decorative building blocks. Nothing I was given describes machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation for it, so I'm not going to invent any.[2][3]
What the sources do show
The recipes I can see are shaped crafting recipes that turn a vanilla block plus a Xychorium gem into a colored variant. The base blocks are bricks, chiseled deepslate, chiseled nether bricks, chiseled polished blackstone and chiseled red sandstone. The colors are blue, dark, green, light and red, and each one uses the gem of the same color, like Blue Xychorium Gem.[2]

Example: Blue Bricks is made from vanilla bricks and a blue Xychorium gem. The other colors follow the same pattern.
Blocks such as Dark Chiseled Deepslate and Red Chiseled Nether Bricks come out of these crafting recipes. The recipe data lists them as ordinary shaped crafting with no special machine involved.[2]
The mod's English tooltips also tell you that the smooth polished tuff and smooth smooth stone blocks have a connected texture.[3]
What I can't confirm
Unverified Whether XyCraft Override adds any machines, multiblock structures, power systems, fluid handling or automation features is unverified. The sources here show no in-jar guidebook, no config files and no reusable documentation for this mod in the pack.
How do you progress through XyCraft Override?
3 parts
The sources for this mod show no tier ladder, no stages and no machines. What they show is a set of crafting recipes that turn a base block and a colored gem into a colored version of that block. So "progression" here means collecting gems and deciding when to start decorating.[2]
What the recipes show
Every recipe in the sources is a shaped crafting recipe. The colors are blue, dark, green, light and red. Examples are Blue Bricks, Red Crying Obsidian and Green Chiseled Deepslate.[2]
The color comes from the matching Xychorium Gem, such as Blue Xychorium Gem. That gem has the xycraft_world namespace, so it is not an item of this mod. Getting the gem for your color is the real gate on these blocks.[2]
Example recipes
The stone-type recipes follow one pattern: a vanilla block plus a gem of the color you want. Here is the plain brick variant:[2]

Vanilla bricks plus a Blue Xychorium Gem give Blue Bricks.
The chiseled wood pillars start from planks instead of a stone-type block. Each color also has a second recipe entry that gives the same pillar.[2]

When to get to it
The recipes shown ask only for the base block and the gem, so you can craft these blocks as soon as you have both. That makes this a good mod to use once your base is running and you want it to look better.[2]
Unverified The sources here do not show any quest chapter that involves this mod, and they do not describe any tiers or unlock order for it. If the pack's quest book covers it, that is told in the quest book itself.
How does XyCraft Override work with other mods?
3 parts
The in-pack connections for this mod are all crafting recipes. Every block you make with XyCraft Override combines a vanilla block (or planks) with a colored Xychorium gem. Those gems come from a different XyCraft mod in the pack, so get your gems first.[2]
Xychorium gems are the key ingredient
The gems come in blue, dark, green, light and red: Blue Xychorium Gem, Dark Xychorium Gem, Green Xychorium Gem, Light Xychorium Gem and Red Xychorium Gem. The gem color decides the color of the block you get. A blue gem gives you the blue version, a red gem gives you the red version, and so on.[2]
Vanilla blocks you can tint
Each of these recipes pairs a vanilla block with a gem of the matching color. Here are the pairings the pack uses.[2]
- Bricks and a gem make Blue Bricks (and the other colors).[2]
- Chiseled Stone Bricks and a gem make Blue Chiseled Stone Bricks (and the other colors).[2]
- Chiseled Sandstone and Chiseled Red Sandstone each have their own tinted versions, such as Green Chiseled Sandstone and Green Chiseled Red Sandstone.[2]
- Chiseled Deepslate and Deepslate Tiles turn into tinted versions such as Dark Chiseled Deepslate and Dark Deepslate Tiles.[2]
- Polished Deepslate (not deepslate bricks) is the base for the tinted deepslate bricks, such as Red Deepslate Bricks.[2]
- Chiseled Nether Bricks, Chiseled Polished Blackstone and End Stone Bricks get the same treatment, for example Light Chiseled Nether Bricks and Light End Stone Bricks.[2]
- Chiseled Tuff and Chiseled Tuff Bricks have tinted versions too, such as Blue Chiseled Tuff and Blue Chiseled Tuff Bricks.[2]
- Crying Obsidian becomes blocks like Green Crying Obsidian.[2]
- Gilded Blackstone becomes blocks like Blue Gilded Blackstone. The recipes in the sources cover blue, dark, green and light for this block, with no red version.[2]

Wood pillars use any planks
The chiseled wood pillars are the family that does not start from a vanilla stone-type block. They use a gem plus any planks from the vanilla planks tag, so whatever wood you have on hand works. Each color also has an extra recipe entry (the ones ending in _r) with the same ingredients, so you will see duplicates in recipe viewers.[2]

Unverified No quests in this pack's quest book involve this mod, so the sources here show no quest-based connections. No other mod connections beyond these crafting recipes could be confirmed.
