What is Utility vest?
Utility Vest is included in this pack as version 1.1.0, shipped as the file utilityvest-1.1.0.jar. If you're checking whether your install matches the pack, that's the version to look for.[1]
Unverified The available sources don't describe what Utility Vest adds, what its vest does, or who it's aimed at. There's no in-game guidebook for it here and no mod page info to go on, so launch the game and look through its items in JEI or EMI to see what it offers. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Unverified No sources cover where Utility Vest fits in the pack's progression. It isn't on the ATM Star path and no quests use it, which suggests it's an optional quality-of-life pick rather than a required step, but that can't be confirmed.
How do you get started with Utility vest?
3 parts
The Utility Vest is a wearable extra inventory with its own filter system. This pack has five tiers: Leather Utility Vest, Iron Utility Vest, Gold Utility Vest, Diamond Utility Vest and Netherite Utility Vest. They form one straight upgrade line, so you always start at the bottom and work your way up.[2]
Step 1: Craft the Leather Utility Vest
Your first vest is the Leather Utility Vest. It's the only tier made with a normal shaped crafting recipe, and every other vest is built from it. Make this one first.[2]

Step 2: Learn the controls
Once you have a vest, check its tooltip in game. It shows the keys bound on your setup, because the controls depend on your keybinds.[3]
- Press the inventory key shown in the tooltip to open the vest's inventory menu.[3]
- Sneak and press the filter key to open the filter menu.[3]
- Press the restock key to insert items that match your filters into the vest's inventory.[3]
- Hold the hotbar key and press a number key to save filters. Hold the load key and press a number key to load them again.[3]
Step 3: Upgrade through the tiers
The higher tiers don't use a normal crafting table recipe. They use the mod's own upgrade recipe type, and each one takes the previous vest as its base. The order is Leather, then Iron, then Gold, then Diamond, then Netherite, so you can't skip a tier.[2]
- Upgrade your Leather Utility Vest into an Iron Utility Vest.[2]
- Upgrade the Iron Utility Vest into a Gold Utility Vest.[2]
- Upgrade the Gold Utility Vest into a Diamond Utility Vest.[2]
- Upgrade the Diamond Utility Vest into a Netherite Utility Vest.[2]

Unverified The sources don't say what each tier improves, such as extra storage or more filter slots, or which slot the vest is worn in. They also don't say exactly where the upgrade recipes are performed. Check the recipe viewer in game for the upgrade method. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How does Utility vest work?
5 parts
The Utility Vest has no machines, multiblocks, power or fluids. It is a wearable storage item, and its core systems are a vest inventory, a filter menu, saved hotbar filters and a restock key. Each of these is used through a keybind.[3]
The vest inventory
The vest has its own inventory, separate from your normal player inventory. You open it with a dedicated key, which the vest's tooltip shows in-game.[3]
Filters
Filters decide which items the vest handles. You open the filter menu by pressing Sneak together with the vest's key, again shown on the tooltip.[3]
Hotbar filters
You can save and reload filter setups using your number keys. You set filters by holding a keybind and pressing a number key, and you load them the same way with a second keybind. This lets you store different filter setups and switch between them quickly.[3]
Restocking
The restock key is the vest's main automation feature. When you press it, items matching your filters are moved into the vest's inventory. Set your filters once and you can pull the matching items into the vest with a single key press.[3]
- Open the filter menu with Sneak plus the vest's key and set up what the vest should collect.[3]
- Optionally save that setup with the set-filter keybind plus a number key, so you can load it again later.[3]
- Press the restock key to move items matching your filters into the vest's inventory.[3]
- Open the vest's inventory menu with its key whenever you want to see or manage what is stored.[3]
Vest tiers and upgrading
The vest comes in five tiers: Leather Utility Vest, Iron Utility Vest, Gold Utility Vest, Diamond Utility Vest and Netherite Utility Vest. Only the leather vest is crafted from scratch with a normal shaped recipe. Every higher tier is made with the mod's own upgrade recipe, which takes the vest one tier below, so you move up the chain one step at a time.[2]

Unverified The available sources do not say what changes between tiers, such as how many slots each vest has. They also do not confirm whether a vest keeps its stored items and filters when you upgrade it, or what the default keybinds are.
How do you progress through Utility vest?
2 parts
Utility vests in this pack come in five tiers, and they form one straight upgrade ladder. You start with the Leather Utility Vest, then move up to the Iron Utility Vest, the Gold Utility Vest, the Diamond Utility Vest, and finally the Netherite Utility Vest.[2]
Starting out: the Leather Utility Vest
The leather vest is your entry point and the only tier you craft from scratch. It uses a regular shaped crafting recipe, so you can make it at a crafting table.[2]

| any leather | any chest | any leather |

Upgrading through the tiers
Every tier after leather is made with the mod's own upgrade recipe instead of a normal crafting recipe. Each upgrade takes the vest from the tier directly below, so you can't skip a step. For example, you need a Gold Utility Vest to make the Diamond one.[2]
- Upgrade your Leather Utility Vest into the Iron Utility Vest.[2]
- Upgrade the Iron Utility Vest into the Gold Utility Vest.[2]
- Upgrade the Gold Utility Vest into the Diamond Utility Vest.[2]
- Upgrade the Diamond Utility Vest into the Netherite Utility Vest, the top tier.[2]

Unverified What each tier actually improves, such as storage space or other bonuses, and whether your stored items carry over when you upgrade, could not be confirmed for this pack.
What changed in Utility vest between versions?
Utility vest has a short history in All the Mods 10. It arrived with version 1.0.2 and has been updated once since then.[4][5]
- All the Mods 10 4.0: Utility vest 1.0.2 was added to the pack.[5]
- All the Mods 10 4.15: Utility vest was updated from 1.0.2 to 1.1.0.[4]
In All the Mods 10 4.15 you're running Utility vest 1.1.0, shipped as the file utilityvest-1.1.0.jar.[1]
Unverified The mod's own changelogs aren't available here, so what actually changed between 1.0.2 and 1.1.0 (new features, fixes or balance tweaks) can't be confirmed. The pack's mod list also only says the mod was first included in 4.0 or earlier, so it's possible it showed up before 4.0.
