What is Utility vest?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 5.5 guide
Utility vest is included in this pack as version 1.1.1, so that's the build you'll be playing with.[1]
Unverified The available sources don't describe what Utility vest adds, how it works, who it's aimed at, or where it fits in the pack's progression. This overview will be expanded once that can be confirmed.
How do you get started with Utility vest?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mons 1.3.0 guide
The Utility Vest line is a ladder of vests, and you climb it one rung at a time. In this pack every vest comes from the mod's own recipes, so your first job is simple: make the bottom vest, then upgrade it as you go.[2]
Step 1: Make the Leather Utility Vest
Everything starts with the Leather Utility Vest. It is the only vest in the line made in a normal crafting grid, and every other vest is an upgrade of the one below it. Here is the exact in-pack recipe:[2]
Crafting Shaped
| any leather | Empty slot | any leather |
| any leather | any chest | any leather |
| any leather | any leather | any leather |
Recipe id: utilityvest:leather_utility_vest
The starting point for the whole line.
Step 2: Upgrade up the tiers
After the leather vest, each tier uses an upgrade recipe instead of a fresh craft: you combine the vest you already have with the next material. The order is iron, then gold, then diamond, then netherite.[2]

Learning the controls
Once you have a vest, read its tooltip. The mod's own text describes these features, and the keys live in the Utility Vest category of your controls screen:[3]
- The tooltip says to press the Open Gui key to open the inventory menu.[3]
- Press Sneak plus the same key to open the filter menu.[3]
- Restock inserts items that match your filters into the vest's inventory.[3]
- You set filters with a key plus a number key, and load them the same way. There are also Save and Load keys, and the chat shows messages like "Saved Hotbar" and "Loaded Hotbar".[3]
- Hold the Open Radial Menu key plus a number key to open the quick-select menu.[3]
How does Utility vest work?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mons 1.3.0 guide
Utility vests are vest items with their own inventory, item filters and a restock action. The sources only describe the vests, their controls and their crafting. There are no machines, multiblocks, power or fluid systems to cover here.[2][3]
The tiers
The tiers are the Leather Utility Vest, Iron Utility Vest, Gold Utility Vest, Diamond Utility Vest and Netherite Utility Vest. You craft the leather vest from scratch, and every higher tier is an upgrade of the vest one step below it, so you can't skip a tier.[2][3]

Using the vest
The mod adds its own group of controls called Utility Vest. It has these bindings: Open Gui, Open Radial Menu, Save, Load and Restock. The vest tooltips tell you which key is currently bound to each action.[3]
- Inventory menu: press the Open Gui key to open the vest's inventory. The screens are titled Utility Vest and Tool Vest.[3]
- Filters: press Sneak plus the Open Gui key to open the filter menu. It is titled Filters.[3]
- Restock: the tooltip says this inserts items matching your filters into the vest's inventory. You get the chat message "Restocked vest inventory" when it happens.[3]
- Hotbar presets: you set filters with the Save key plus a number key, and load them with the Load key plus a number key. The chat messages "Saved Hotbar" and "Loaded Hotbar" confirm each action.[3]
- Quick-select: hold the radial menu key plus a number key to open the quick-select menu.[3]
Inside the vest menu, the tooltips mention a key to cycle between hotbars. There is also a key to insert an item into the vest inventory.[3]
How do you progress through Utility vest?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.2 guide
Utility vests in this pack follow a straight line: you craft the lowest tier, then upgrade the same vest one step at a time. From lowest to highest, the tiers are Leather Utility Vest, Iron Utility Vest, Gold Utility Vest, Diamond Utility Vest and Netherite Utility Vest.[4][5]
Leather
The Leather Utility Vest is the only one made from scratch. It uses a normal shaped crafting recipe, and every tier after it is an upgrade of a vest you already own.[4]
Crafting Shaped
| any leather | Empty slot | any leather |
| any leather | any chest | any leather |
| any leather | any leather | any leather |
Recipe id: utilityvest:leather_utility_vest
Iron
The Iron Utility Vest is the first upgrade. It uses the mod's own upgrade recipe type and builds on the Leather Utility Vest.[4]
Upgrade (utilityvest)
| Empty slot | any iron ingot | Empty slot |
| any iron ingot | any iron ingot | |
| Empty slot | any iron ingot | Empty slot |
Recipe id: utilityvest:iron_utility_vest
Gold
The Gold Utility Vest upgrades the Iron Utility Vest, so you can't skip a tier.[4]
Upgrade (utilityvest)
| Empty slot | any gold ingot | Empty slot |
| any gold ingot | any gold ingot | |
| Empty slot | any gold ingot | Empty slot |
Recipe id: utilityvest:gold_utility_vest
Diamond
The Diamond Utility Vest upgrades the Gold Utility Vest in the same way.[4]
Upgrade (utilityvest)
| Empty slot | any diamond gem | Empty slot |
| any diamond gem | any diamond gem | |
| Empty slot | any diamond gem | Empty slot |
Recipe id: utilityvest:diamond_utility_vest
Netherite
The Netherite Utility Vest is the top of the line, and it upgrades the Diamond Utility Vest.[4]
Upgrade (utilityvest)
| Empty slot | any netherite ingot | Empty slot |
| any netherite ingot | any netherite ingot | |
| Empty slot | any netherite ingot | Empty slot |
Recipe id: utilityvest:netherite_utility_vest
All of these vests share one item tag from the mod, so anything that checks for that tag treats the whole line as utility vests.[5]
