What is Reliquified Artifacts?

2 parts

Reliquified Artifacts, also called RAR-Compat, is a compatibility addon that sits between the Relics and Artifacts mods. It reworks the mechanics of Artifacts items so they fit into the deeper, layered leveling system that Relics uses.[1]

Instead of Artifacts just handing you randomly generated gear, the addon converts those items to match how Relics works. That brings new subtleties and mechanics to them.[1]

Who it's for

If you enjoy trinket-style gear and like the leveling progression from Relics, this addon is the bridge that brings Artifacts items into that system. It needs both Relics and Artifacts to work.[1]

What to expect in the pack

The pack ships version 1.0.8 of the mod, built for Minecraft 1.21.1. It has been included since version 2.25 of the pack or earlier.[2]

Watch out: The mod is still in development and currently converts only 35% of Artifacts items into relics. Expect many Artifacts items to behave the way they normally do. More conversions are planned for later versions.[1]

Unverified Where this mod fits in the pack's progression is unconfirmed. It is not on the ATM Star quest path, no quests in the pack involve it, and no in-jar guidebook was found. There is nothing here to tell you when to engage with it.

How do you get started with Reliquified Artifacts?

2 parts

Reliquified Artifacts is a compatibility addon that needs both Relics and Artifacts installed. It takes items from Artifacts and rebuilds them around the layered leveling system of Relics. The project page says it is still in development and converts only 35% of the artifacts so far, so only part of the Artifacts roster gets the Relics treatment.[1]

Step 1: Craft Mimi-Dust

The one recipe from this mod in the pack's recipe dump is Mimi-Dust. The pack changed this recipe, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. The block below shows the exact in-pack version.[3]

This is the pack's changed version of the recipe, not the mod default.

Step 2: Learn how the converted items level

The converted items work like Relics, not like plain Artifacts gear. Their tooltips describe abilities that gain experience from specific actions. The Angler's Hat, for example, earns +1 experience for each catch, each fish eaten and each treasure caught. Items also have rank modifiers that add extra effects, such as the hat's chance to catch a treasure instead of fish.[4]

Tip: Read an item's tooltip and description before you commit to a build. Each ability lists how it earns experience, so you can play in the way that levels it fastest.[4]

Unverified The sources here show no quests in the pack's quest book that involve this mod, so there is no quest chapter to tell you how to get the converted relics. Treat any early-game route for them as unconfirmed until you have tested it yourself.

How does Reliquified Artifacts work?

3 parts

Reliquified Artifacts has no machines, multiblocks, power or fluid systems. It's a compatibility addon between Relics and Artifacts. It takes items from the Artifacts mod and rebuilds them to fit the deeper leveling system of Relics, so the mechanics here are about gear and progression rather than automation.[1]

The addon is still in development. It currently converts only 35% of the Artifacts items into relics, with more promised later. It also requires both Relics and Artifacts to be installed.[1]

How a converted relic works

Each relic has one or more abilities. In the mod's text, every ability is described with three parts: what it does, how it earns experience, and extra effects called rank modifiers. Each relic also tracks statistics for what it has done for you, such as health restored or damage reduced.[4]

Experience comes from using the relic's ability. These are some of the sources listed for the relics I could see:[4]

  • Angler's Hat: +1 experience for each catch, each fish eaten and each treasure caught.[4]
  • Antidote Vessel: +1 experience for each negative effect you receive.[4]
  • Aqua Dashers: +1 experience for every 5 seconds of movement on the water's surface, +1 for each boosted jump on the water's surface, and +1 for each ignored projectile while moving on the water's surface.[4]
  • Bunny Hoppers: +0.1 experience for each unit of jump height, and +1 for each hit on a target while falling after a high jump.[4]
  • Charm of Sinking: +1 experience for each air bubble restored.[4]

Rank modifiers

Rank modifiers add extra behavior on top of a relic's main ability. For example, the Angler's Hat can make fish be consumed 2 times faster or give a chance of catching a treasure instead of fish. The Bunny Hoppers can remove fall damage after a high jump, and the Aqua Dashers can let you move on the water's surface without running.[4]

The Antidote Vessel's main ability shortens the duration of negative effects on you. Its modifiers cap the strength of negative effects at level 1, and grant temporary protection against the same effect being reapplied. They can also reduce incoming damage for each active negative effect.[4]

The exact percentages and durations appear in the item tooltips as placeholders, so I can't give you the pack's actual values here.[4]

Crafting Mimi-Dust

Mimi-Dust is crafted with a shaped recipe, and the pack has changed that recipe from the mod's default. This is the in-pack version:[3]

Unverified What Mimi-Dust is used for, the Relics leveling thresholds, and any machine, power, fluid or automation behavior are not covered by the available sources. The pack also has no config files for this mod to check.

How do you progress through Reliquified Artifacts?

There isn't a tier ladder to walk through for Reliquified Artifacts in this pack, because the recipe dump only confirms one item. That item is Mimi-Dust, made with a shaped crafting recipe that the pack has changed from the mod's own version.[3]

This is the pack's changed version of the Mimi-Dust recipe, so don't rely on the mod's default.

If you've played the mod outside this pack, don't assume your recipe knowledge carries over to Mimi-Dust. Use the recipe above when you plan around it.[3]

Unverified The sources here do not show any quest-guided progression for this mod, and they do not show where it sits on the ATM Star quest path. Tier breakdowns and the order for obtaining other Reliquified Artifacts items are also not shown, so they are left out.

What changed in Reliquified Artifacts between versions?

2 parts

The pack changelogs only record which version of the mod shipped in each release. They don't say what changed inside each update, so this section is a version timeline and nothing more. The current release, All the Mods 10 8.1, ships Reliquified Artifacts 1.0.8.[2][5]

Reliquified Artifacts

  • 6.2: Reliquified Artifacts 1.0 was added to the pack.[6]
  • 6.3: updated from 1.0 to 1.0.1.[7]
  • 6.4: updated from 1.0.1 to 1.0.3.[8]
  • 6.5: updated from 1.0.3 to 1.0.4.[9]
  • 7.0: updated from 1.0.4 to 1.0.6.[10]
  • 7.1: updated from 1.0.6 to 1.0.7.[11]
  • 8.1: updated from 1.0.7 to 1.0.8.[5]

RAR-Compat

Before 6.2, the pack carried RAR-Compat, which is the older mod in this lineage. It was removed in the same release that added Reliquified Artifacts 1.0.[6]

  • 2.26: updated from 0.8.4.1 to 0.8.5.[12]
  • 2.28: updated from 0.8.5 to 0.8.5.1.[13]
  • 2.29: updated from 0.8.5.1 to 0.8.5.2.[14]
  • 2.31: updated from 0.8.5.2 to 0.9.[15]
  • 2.32: updated from 0.9 to 0.9.1.[16]
  • 2.37: updated from 0.9.1 to 0.9.4.[17]
  • 2.40: updated from 0.9.4 to 0.9.5.[18]
  • 2.47: updated from 0.9.5 to 0.9.6.[19]
  • 4.6: updated from 0.9.6 to 0.9.7.[20]
  • 4.7: rolled back from 0.9.7 to 0.9.6.[21]
  • 5.5: updated from 0.9.6 to 0.9.7 again.[22]

Unverified The changelogs don't say whether Reliquified Artifacts replaced RAR-Compat directly. The 8.1 mod list says the mod was first included in 2.25 or earlier, which doesn't match the 6.2 addition. We also have no stored changelogs for the shipped jars, so what changed inside each version is unconfirmed.
