What is Reliquified Artifacts?

1 part

Reliquified Artifacts is a compatibility addon that connects two mods: Relics and Artifacts. It takes the items from Artifacts and reworks them to fit Relics' deeper, layered systems, so they aren't just simple gear anymore.[1]

The biggest change is leveling. Converted Artifacts items use Relics' leveling system, and the addon adds new mechanics and details to them along the way. If you like your trinkets to grow with you instead of staying the same all game, this is the mod doing that work.[1]

The mod needs both Relics and Artifacts to work. The project page calls it a work in progress: it says only 35% of artifacts have been converted into relics so far, with more planned. Expect some Artifacts items to use the new system while others still behave the way they do in plain Artifacts.[1]

Tip: That 35% figure comes from the mod's project page, not from this pack. The exact share of converted items in the version shipped here may be different.[1]

In this pack

All the Mods 10 6.1 includes Reliquified Artifacts version 0.9.7. It has been in the pack since version 2.25 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the modlist and not a recent addition.[2]

Unverified The available sources don't cover where this mod fits in the pack's progression. It isn't part of the ATM Star path, and none of the pack's quests use it, so you'll likely find and use these items through normal play rather than a quest line. How you get the items and which ones are converted in this version couldn't be confirmed.

How do you get started with Reliquified Artifacts?

3 parts

Reliquified Artifacts, also called Relics: Artifacts Compat, is an addon that bridges Relics and Artifacts. It takes items from Artifacts and reworks them to fit the Relics leveling system, so the gear you find grows with you instead of staying fixed. You need both Relics and Artifacts installed for it to work.[1]

The mod is still in development and currently converts only about 35% of artifacts into relics, so not every artifact you find will have the new relic treatment yet.[1]

Tip: Artifacts that this addon has reworked show a "Modified by [Relics: Artifacts Compat]" line in their tooltip. Hover over an item to check whether it uses the new relic mechanics.[3]

Step 1: Craft Mimi-Dust

Your first craft is rarcompat:mimi_dust. It's the way this mod gives you to turn ordinary chests into sources of relics. All the Mods 10 has changed this recipe from the mod's default, so use the in-pack recipe below rather than one from an outside guide.[3][4]

Step 2: Turn a chest into a mimic

Use the rarcompat:mimi_dust on a chest. The chest turns into a mimic. When you beat that mimic, it drops as many random relics as the chest held before the transformation. The more the chest contained, the bigger your relic haul.[3]

Unverified The sources don't say whether "as many as it contained" counts individual items or item stacks. They also don't say how tough the mimic is. Be ready for a fight, and test with a small chest first.

Step 3: Equip your relics and level them up

Relics from this mod have abilities that gain experience as you use them. For example, Cloud in a Bottle gains experience for each extra air jump you make with it. Digging Claws gain experience from mining blocks, with tougher blocks more likely to grant it. Keep using a relic for what it does best and it will level up.[1][3]

Read each relic's tooltip to learn its abilities and what earns it experience. Some reward fishing, some reward taking damage or health regeneration, and some reward riding mounts. Pick relics that match how you already play, and they'll level up on their own.[3]

How does Reliquified Artifacts work?

4 parts

Reliquified Artifacts is a compatibility addon between Relics and Artifacts. It doesn't just add more random gear. It takes Artifacts items and reworks them to fit the deeper leveling system from Relics, so the accessories you find play by Relics rules and pick up some new mechanics along the way.[1]

You need both Relics and Artifacts installed for this addon to work. The project page says the mod is still in development and currently converts only 35% of artifacts into relics, so don't expect every Artifacts item to be reworked.[1]

Tip: Not sure whether an item has been reworked? Check its tooltip. Items changed by this addon carry a line saying they were modified by Relics: Artifacts Compat.[3]

Abilities and leveling

Each converted item works like a relic. It has one or more named abilities, and each ability comes with its own leveling source that tells you which action earns the item experience points. You level the item by actually using it the way it's meant to be used.[3]

  • Some leveling sources reward you for every activation of an ability, for example each time a defensive ability triggers or each time you use an active ability.[3]
  • Others reward you per unit of activity, such as each second spent swimming, each high jump or each mined block.[3]
  • Some sources are probabilistic. Mining experience depends on how tough the block is and doesn't work on blocks that break instantly. Health-based experience is more likely the lower your current health is compared to your maximum.[3]
  • Riding-based experience on the mount relic only has a 25% chance to be granted for each second of riding.[3]

Chained chance rolls

Several abilities use a repeating chance roll. If the roll succeeds, the ability triggers and then rolls again, and it keeps going until a roll fails. The fishing relic uses this to add extra catch, the mining luck relic to stack extra Luck levels on mined blocks, and the fire gauntlet to release extra homing sparks. Stacking up successes like this can give you big payoffs when you get lucky.[3]

Stacking and cooldown mechanics

  • The attack-speed claws build up charges for each consecutive attack made within 3 seconds of the last one. Otherwise they lose 1 charge per second, and attacking with an unfilled attack speed bar resets all your charges, so time your swings.[3]
  • The digging claws have a passive that reduces the required tool level for all blocks by 1.[3]
  • The cowboy hat's active ability lets you ride and control any mob for a limited time. When the time runs out or you dismount, it goes on a 1-minute cooldown.[3]
  • The fatal-damage save on the kitty slippers leaves you with 1 health point when it triggers.[3]

Mimi-Dust and mimics

The addon also adds a way to farm relics. When you use rarcompat:mimi_dust on a chest, the chest transforms into a mimic. That mimic drops as many random relics as the chest originally contained before the transformation.[3]

All the Mods 10 changes the crafting recipe for Mimi-Dust, so use the in-pack recipe shown below instead of any recipe you might find for the standalone mod.[4]

Unverified The available sources don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item handling, or automation for this mod. The exact numbers behind each ability, such as chances, durations and percentages, aren't given in the sources and aren't confirmed here.

How do you progress through Reliquified Artifacts?

Right now the only in-pack crafting recipe for this mod is for rarcompat:mimi_dust, so that's the one progression step you can plan around. It's a regular shaped crafting table recipe, which means you don't need any special machines to make it.[4]

Watch out: This pack has changed the rarcompat:mimi_dust recipe, so recipes from other sources or older videos may not match what you see in game. Use the recipe shown below instead.[4]

The pack's own version of this recipe.

If you want to get it early, check the recipe for anything you might want to stock up on ahead of time. It accepts any redstone dust, so modded redstone dusts will work too.[4]

Unverified The available material doesn't include a full tier breakdown or a set progression order for this mod's artifacts, and it doesn't say what Mimi-Dust is used for. Check JEI in game for anything beyond the recipe above. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

What changed in Reliquified Artifacts between versions?

1 part

All the Mods 10 6.1 ships Reliquified Artifacts version 0.9.7, in the file rarcompat-1.21-0.9.7.jar. It has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 2.2 or earlier, so it has been along for most of the pack's life.[2]

The pack changelogs list this mod as RAR-Compat. If you're scrolling through the All the Mods 10 changelogs looking for it, that's the name to search for.[2][5]

  11. All the Mods 10 5.5 updated it from 0.9.6 to 0.9.7 again.[5]
Tip: Watch out for the back-and-forth around 0.9.7. It arrived in pack 4.6, was rolled back to 0.9.6 in 4.7, and returned in 5.5. It is still the version in 6.1. If you're comparing worlds or bug reports from releases after 4.7 but before 5.5, check which version was installed, because it may not be 0.9.7.[2][5][14][15]

Unverified The mod's own changelogs aren't available here. That means the specific features, fixes or balance changes in each of these versions can't be confirmed, and neither can the reason for the 4.7 rollback.
