What is Reliquified Artifacts?

2 parts

Reliquified Artifacts is a compatibility addon that bridges two mods you already have in this pack: Relics and Artifacts. Instead of Artifacts gear being simple drops you either use or throw away, this addon reworks those items so they plug into the deeper, layered systems Relics is built around.[1]

The headline change is leveling. Converted Artifacts items are transformed to match Relics' leveling system, which brings extra subtleties and mechanics along with it. So the trinket you pull out of a dungeon chest is no longer a fixed bonus, it becomes a piece of gear that grows with you.[1]

The pack ships version 0.6.3 of the mod, and it has been part of the pack since at least the 0.66 builds, so it is not a recent addition you need to go out of your way to enable.[2]

Who it's for

This one is for you if you like exploration loot and gear progression. If you already enjoy hunting Artifacts drops, this addon gives those items a long-term purpose. If you are deep into Relics, it widens the pool of relics you can find and level without adding a separate system to learn.[1]

Where it sits in progression

Treat it as a passive quality-of-life layer rather than a gated chapter. There are no quests in this pack that involve the mod, and it is not on the ATM Star path, so nothing here blocks your main progression. It simply improves what you find while you are out doing everything else.[2]

Watch out: The mod is still in development and currently converts only 35% of Artifacts items into relics. Plenty of Artifacts gear will still behave as plain Artifacts gear, so do not assume every drop you find is a levelable relic.[1]
Tip: Because this is a compatibility addon, it needs both Relics and Artifacts to work. Both are present in the pack, so you do not need to install anything yourself.[1][2]

How do you get started with Reliquified Artifacts?

2 parts

Reliquified Artifacts is a compatibility addon that sits between Relics and Artifacts, so you need both of those mods installed for it to do anything. Instead of leaving Artifacts items as simple randomly generated gear, it rebuilds them to fit the deeper, layered systems of Relics, complete with Relics' leveling system and the extra mechanics that come with it.[1]

One thing to know before you start hunting: the addon is still in development and currently converts only 35% of artifacts into relics. The rest of the Artifacts items you find will behave the way they normally do, so don't be surprised when a piece of gear shows up without the Relics treatment.[1]

Unverified No crafting recipes for this mod's items could be confirmed from the pack data available here, and no quests in this pack cover the mod. Treat these as gear you obtain through Artifacts' own acquisition methods rather than something you sit down at a crafting table to make.

Which converted artifacts to prioritise

Because you can't craft your way to a specific piece, the practical "first steps" are knowing which converted artifacts are worth slotting first when one drops into your hands. These are the standouts for an early-game character.[1][3]

  • Crystal Heart increases your maximum health, which starts from a base of 20 units. More effective HP is the single best thing you can carry into early exploration.[3]
  • Cross Necklace extends the invulnerability window after you take damage, on top of the 1 second base duration, so packs of mobs hit you far less often.[3]
  • Kitty Slippers raise your safe fall height and give a chance to prevent fatal damage, leaving you on 1 health point instead of dying.[3]
  • Antidote Vessel shortens the duration of negative effects, which is a quiet lifesaver in caves and any poison-heavy biome.[3]
  • Digging Claws boost block mining speed, and Onion Ring adds mining speed scaled by how full your hunger bar is.[3]
  • Cloud in a Bottle grants additional jumps in mid-air, and Bunny Hoppers let you jump higher by holding the jump button, both great for getting around before you have elytra-tier movement.[3]
  • Night Vision Goggles brighten poorly lit areas, so you can stop burning torches just to see the next corner.[3]

Next steps once you're geared

  • For combat, Feral Claws ramp up your attack speed with each strike landed within 3 seconds of the last, losing one charge per second when you stop, and resetting entirely if you swing with an unfilled attack speed bar. Flame Pendant adds a chance to ignite whatever attacked you.[3]
  • For progression, Golden Hook increases the experience you get from killing mobs, and Lucky Scarf has a repeating chance to stack extra levels of luck onto mined blocks.[3]
  • For utility runs, Angler's Hat has a repeating chance to increase your fishing catch, and Charm of Shrinking halves your size temporarily to reach places you otherwise can't, with a 10-second cooldown once it expires or you turn it off.[3]
Tip: Since these items feed into Relics' leveling system rather than staying static, it's worth committing to a couple of relics you actually use instead of constantly swapping whatever drops in last.[1]

How does Reliquified Artifacts work?

7 parts

This mod is a compatibility addon that sits between Relics and Artifacts. Instead of Artifacts simply handing you randomly generated gear, it rebuilds those items inside the more complex, layered systems of Relics, matching them to Relics' deep leveling system and adding extra subtleties and mechanics on top.[1]

It is still in development, and right now it converts only 35% of the artifacts into relics. The rest of the Artifacts items you find behave as they normally would, and more conversions are planned. Both Relics and Artifacts are required for it to work.[1]

How a converted relic works

Every converted item carries a short flavour description plus one or more named abilities, and each ability is what actually does the work. Abilities that scale show their value on the tooltip under a labelled stat line, so you can read what a specific relic is doing for you at a glance.[3]

  • Digging Claws and the Onion Ring both list a Mining Speed Modifier, and Feral Claws lists an Attack Speed Modifier.[3]
  • The Cross Necklace lists Bonus Invulnerability Time on top of the base 1 second of post-hit invulnerability, and the Crystal Heart adds to your maximum health on top of the base 20 units.[3]
  • Other stat lines you will see include the Golden Hook's Experience Modifier, the Night Vision Goggles' Brightness Modifier, Steadfast Spikes' Resistance Strength, Rooted Boots' Activation Frequency, the Umbrella's Fall Speed Reduction, and Additional Drinking Speed on the drinking hats.[3]
Tip: Because the numbers are printed on the item itself, the tooltip is your reference for what a relic is currently worth. Hover it before you decide whether it deserves a slot.[3]

Ability patterns to recognise

Once you have a few relics you will notice the abilities fall into a handful of repeating designs. Knowing which pattern a relic uses tells you how to play around it.[3]

Cascading chance rolls

The Angler's Hat, Lucky Scarf and Superstitious Hat all share the same escalating roll. The ability rolls once, and if it succeeds it immediately rolls again, stacking another bonus on top. That loop keeps going until a roll finally fails, and everything accumulated is summed. For the Angler's Hat that is extra catch when fishing, for the Lucky Scarf it is extra levels of luck applied to mined blocks, and for the Superstitious Hat it is extra levels of looting applied to killed mobs.[3]

Charges, cooldowns and timers

Some abilities are gated by time rather than chance. The Power Glove increases your damage but goes on a 5-second cooldown after each attack, so it rewards slow, heavy hits. Feral Claws work the opposite way: each attack made within 3 seconds of the last builds attack speed, and if you stop attacking you lose one charge per second. Swinging before your attack speed bar has refilled wipes the accumulated charges entirely, so clean, fully charged strikes are what keep the stack alive. The Charm of Shrinking halves your size on use and then takes a 10-second cooldown once it expires or you switch it off.[3]

Retaliation effects

The pendants are all reactive and all chance-based: the Flame Pendant can ignite whoever attacks you, the Shock Pendant can call down lightning on them, and the Thorn Pendant can reflect part of the damage back while poisoning the attacker. They only fire when something hits you first, so they pair naturally with tanky play.[3]

Conditional and held abilities

A few relics only pay out when you meet a condition. The Onion Ring scales mining speed with your hunger, adding a percentage per hunger point, so keeping fed is a mining upgrade. The Scarf of Invisibility turns you invisible once your movement speed drops below a threshold measured in blocks per second, but interacting with things in the world creates an area where the invisibility stops applying until you leave it. The Snorkel grants water breathing while you are fully submerged, Snowshoes speed you up on snow and let you move easily through loose snow, and the Cowboy Hat speeds up the animals you ride rather than you.[3]

Others need you to act. The Umbrella only glides while you hold it in hand, gradually slowing your fall and reducing fall damage based on how fast you are dropping, with a slow enough descent negating the damage completely, and using it instead turns it into a shield that knocks targets back. The Universal Attractor is a toggle with two modes, pulling nearby items towards you in attraction mode and pushing them away in repulsion mode. Bunny Hoppers jump higher when you hold the jump button, while the Cloud in a Bottle simply grants a listed number of extra mid-air jumps.[3]

Survivability and upkeep

Several relics quietly handle chip damage and resources for you. Kitty Slippers raise your safe fall height and have a chance to cancel fatal damage, leaving you on 1 health. The Antidote Vessel shortens the duration of negative effects. Rooted Boots periodically eat the grass block under your feet, turning it to dirt and restoring 1 unit of hunger, and both drinking hats speed up any item with a drinking animation while also restoring hunger when you drink.[3]

Watch out: These are all worn or held items, not machines. The sources describe abilities on the relics themselves, so there is no power, fluid or item automation to build for this mod: your automation effort goes into finding and leveling the gear.[1][3]

Unverified Exactly which artifacts are in the converted 35%, and how relic leveling upgrades these stat values step by step, are not covered by the available sources for this pack. Check the tooltips in game.

What changed in Reliquified Artifacts between versions?

All the Mods 10 2.3 ships Reliquified Artifacts 0.6.3, and the mod has been in the pack since 0.66 or earlier. Here are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs, newest first.[2]

  • 0.6.3: Corrected the discount percentage formula for the Villager Hat. This is the version you get in this pack.[2][4]
  • 0.6.1: Fixed Bunny Hoppers on the server side.[5]
  • 0.5.1: Updated the Digging Claws ability card and potentially fixed the Onion Ring mining speed issue.[6]
  • 0.5: Added ability icons and matching research for Digging Claws, Shock Pendant, Flame Pendant, Thorn Pendant and Universal Attractor. Also added abilities for Night Vision Goggles and fixed bugs with the Onion Ring and Digging Claws.[7]
  • 0.4: Added new logic for eight items: Cloud in a bottle, Vampiric glove, Golden hook, Onion ring, digging claws, antidote vessel, power glove and withered bracelet.[8]

If you play on a server, the 0.6.1 Bunny Hoppers fix is already included in the 0.6.3 version the pack uses.[2][5]
