What is Pam's HarvestCraft - Crops?

1 part

Pam's HarvestCraft - Crops is the crops part of the Pam's HarvestCraft family, and it is included in this pack as version 1.0.9, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1. It has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 2.25 or earlier, so it is a long-standing part of the mod list.[1]

Its registry namespace is pamhc2crops, so any item you see with that prefix comes from this mod.[1]

Where it fits in progression

The mod is not on the ATM Star quest path, and no quests in this pack involve it. You won't be pushed toward it by the questbook, so it's an optional extra for your farming setup.[1]

Unverified The sources do not describe the individual crops, their recipes, growth behavior, config options or any pack-specific changes, so this overview does not cover them. No in-jar guidebook or platform description was available for this mod either.

How do you get started with Pam's HarvestCraft - Crops?

2 parts

Welcome to the crops side of the pack! The first thing to know is how seeds work here: for every crop I can see in the recipe list, there is a crafting recipe that turns the harvested crop into its matching seed. So the first items you care about are the crops themselves and the seeds you make from them.[2]

Step one: turn a crop into its seed

The seed recipes are shapeless crafting recipes, so the arrangement in the grid doesn't matter. For example, Corn gives you Corn Seed, and Rice gives you Rice Seed. Here are those two recipes as they exist in this pack:[2]

The same pattern shows up for the rest of the list, from Agave and Barley through to Rutabaga. Each crop has its own seed item, such as Onion Seed or Cotton Seed. Berries, grains, vegetables and fibre plants all follow it.[2]

A sensible order to work in

  1. Get hold of a few crop items from the mod. The sources I have don't say where the first ones come from, so check JEI or your world.[2]
  2. Craft one seed from a crop, like Barley Seed from Barley, so you can confirm the recipe works in your game.[2]
  3. Pick the crops you actually want to use, such as Cabbage or Blueberry, and make their seeds so you have a starting stock.[2]
Tip: Every seed recipe I can see is a direct crop-to-seed conversion, so each crop you pick up is also a possible seed for next time. Look up the exact recipe in JEI for any crop you're unsure about.[2]

Unverified Where the first crops or seeds come from, what soil or light they need, how long they take to grow, and what the harvested crops are used for are not covered by the sources I have. No quests in this pack involve this mod, and there is no in-jar guidebook to check.

How does Pam's HarvestCraft - Crops work?

1 part

The recipes the sources show for this mod are all about one thing: turning a harvested crop into its seed. Nothing in them covers machines, multiblocks, power or fluids, so this section stays short and sticks to what is confirmed.[2]

Crafting seeds from crops

In this pack, the seed recipes shown for this mod are shapeless crafting recipes. Each crop has its own seed recipe that takes the harvested crop and gives you its seed. For example, Agave becomes Agave Seed, and Barley becomes Barley Seed. The same pattern shows up for crops like Corn and Cotton.[2]

Agave is a typical example: the crop goes in and the matching seed comes out, as a shapeless crafting recipe.

Corn follows the same shapeless pattern.

Tip: Because these are shapeless crafting recipes, the recipe blocks above show exactly what the pack uses for each seed. You don't need to remember a layout.[2]

How do you progress through Pam's HarvestCraft - Crops?

2 parts

The recipe data for Pam's HarvestCraft - Crops in this pack shows a simple loop for getting your crops going and keeping them going, rather than a ladder of tiers. Here is how that loop works.[2]

Step 1: Turn a crop into a seed

Every crop in the recipe data has a shapeless crafting recipe that turns the harvested crop item into its matching seed item. For example, Agave becomes Agave Seed. The same pattern runs across the whole list, from Alfalfa to Zucchini.[2]

Agave is the example here. The other crops follow the same crop-to-seed pattern.

Step 2: Automate with a cloche

The pack adds its own Immersive Engineering cloche recipe for Agave. It grows the crop from its seed and returns the seed along with the harvest, so one seed keeps the cycle running. This recipe is a pack addition, not something the mod does by default.[2]

Added by the pack, not by the mod itself.

Tip: Only the Agave cloche recipe is visible in the recipe data here, and 256 more recipes are not shown. Check the recipe viewer in-game before you assume another crop has no cloche recipe.[2]

How does Pam's HarvestCraft - Crops work with other mods?

3 parts

The crops in this mod are mostly raw material for other mods. In this pack, the links I can confirm come from recipes that take a crop-derived item from this mod and turn it into something from a sibling Pam's mod, or into a vanilla item.[2]

Canola, Cooking Oil and Torches

Canola becomes Cooking Oil in a shapeless recipe. The pack has changed this recipe, and it asks for any item from the common roller tool tag, so a roller from another mod can work.[2]

The pack also changed the recipe that turns Cattail and that Cooking Oil into a Torch. That makes this mod's crops a way to make vanilla light sources.[2]

Drinks in Pam's Food Extended

Hot Coffee is the base for Expresso. This is the mod's own recipe, not a pack change. It also needs a sugar and a pot tool, and both are matched by common tags, so any item in those tags is accepted.[2]

Hot Tea works the same way for Sweet Tea. The recipe is unchanged from the mod, and it also uses common-tag ingredients for lemon, ice, sugar and the pot tool.[2]

Gourmet Mutton Burger

Roasted Mushroom is one input of the Gourmet Mutton Burger, alongside Brioche Bun and Gourmet Mutton Patty. The rest of the recipe is filled by common-tag ingredients, including a skillet tool. This is the mod's own recipe, unchanged by the pack.[2]

Tip: Many of these recipes use common tags such as sugar, pot tool, roller tool and skillet tool instead of one fixed item. If a recipe won't accept your item, check whether it belongs to the right tag.[2]

Unverified No quests in this pack were found that involve this mod, so there are no quest-based integrations to list.

What changed in Pam's HarvestCraft - Crops between versions?

Here's how Pam's HarvestCraft - Crops has moved through the All the Mods 10 releases. The pack changelogs only record version bumps, so they don't say what changed inside each update.[3][4][5][6]

  • All the Mods 10 4.13: updated from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1.[6]
  • All the Mods 10 4.15: updated from 1.0.1 to 1.0.2.[5]
  • All the Mods 10 5.5: updated from 1.0.2 to 1.0.7.[4]
  • All the Mods 10 7.0: updated from 1.0.7 to 1.0.9.[3]

All the Mods 10 8.1 ships version 1.0.9 (the NeoForge 1.21.1 build), so you're on the same version that arrived in 7.0. The mod was first included in All the Mods 10 2.25 or earlier.[1][3]

Unverified No changelogs for the shipped jars are stored, so the sources here do not show what changed in each update (new crops, recipe changes, fixes).
