What is Macaw's Lights and Lamps?
3 parts
Macaw's Lights and Lamps is a decoration mod that gives you vanilla-styled light sources beyond the ones in the base game. Think of it as a lighting upgrade for your builds: it is all about making your world brighter and better looking.[1]
What it adds
- Tiki torches, street lamp posts, ceiling lights, lamps and paper lamps.[1]
- Wall lanterns, new torches, light slabs and lanterns.[1]
- Ceiling fan lights, candle holders and chandeliers.[1]
Lamps, street lights, tiki torches and ceiling lights can be made as tall as you want, from a 1 block tall lamp up to a 54 block tall one. You can also turn any of these lights on and off with a right click.[1]
Who it is for
If you like to build, this mod is for you. It is a simple decoration mod, so it suits anyone who wants lighting that looks better than torches and lanterns alone, whether that is a lit street, a tiki-style patio or a chandelier over your dining room.[1]
In this pack
The pack ships Macaw's Lights and Lamps 1.1.1, built for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod has been in the pack since version 0.32 or earlier, so it is a long-standing part of the mod list.[2]
Unverified No quests in this pack involve the mod, it is not on the ATM Star quest path, and no in-jar guidebook was found. Treat it as an optional building and decoration mod rather than a progression step. The sources do not confirm how its items are crafted in this pack, so check the recipe viewer in-game. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with Macaw's Lights and Lamps?
5 parts
Macaw's Lights and Lamps adds vanilla-styled light sources: tiki torches, street lamp posts, ceiling lights, lamps, paper lamps, wall lanterns, new torches, light slabs, lanterns, ceiling fan lights, candle holders and chandeliers. The items covered here are made in the crafting grid, and the recipe blocks below show the exact in-pack recipes. No pack quests involve this mod, so you can start whenever you like.[1][3]
Start with a Framed Torch
The Framed Torch is one of the mod's new torches, and it makes a good first craft to get a feel for the mod's style in your base.[1][3]

Make a lantern, then a wall version
The Chain Lantern is a good next step. The Bell Lantern, Covered Lantern, Cross Lantern and Festive Lantern are other looks, so pick whichever you like. Each lantern has a wall version, like the Chain Wall Lantern, which is handy for lighting a wall.[3]

Tiki torches and garden lights for outdoors
For paths and the area around your base, try the Bamboo Tiki Torch. There are also tiki torches for several wood types, such as Acacia Tiki Torch and Cherry Tiki Torch. The Garden Light is another outdoor option.[3]

Lamps and street lamp posts
Once you have the basics, move on to the bigger pieces. Colored lamps and ceiling lights, like the Black Lamp and Black Ceiling Light, come in many colors. The Street Lamp Post is the one to build for streets and big builds.[3]

Fancier pieces for later
Paper lamps start from the White Paper Lamp and come in colors, like the Blue Paper Lamp; the recipe below shows how it is made. When you want to decorate, look at the ceiling fan lights, candle holders and chandeliers in copper, gold and iron, such as the Copper Chandelier.[3]

How does Macaw's Lights and Lamps work?
3 parts
This one is simple, so the section is short. Macaw's Lights and Lamps is a decorative lighting mod. The sources describe lamps, torches, street lamps, paper lamps, wall lanterns, light slabs, ceiling fan lights, candle holders and chandeliers. They don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation, so I'm not going to invent any.[1]
Turning lights on and off
Everything in the mod can be switched off and on with a right click. That is the only interaction the sources describe, and it's all you need for everyday use.[1]
Tall builds
Lamps, street lights, tiki torches and ceiling lights can be made as tall as you like, from a 1 block tall lamp up to a 54 block tall one.[1]
Unverified The sources don't explain how to extend these lights to a taller size (for example which item or action adds a segment), so check that in-game before building a big one.
Crafting links between items
Some items in the pack are crafted from other items in the mod. The wall lanterns are shapeless recipes that start from the matching lantern, like the Covered Wall Lantern, which comes from the Covered Lantern.[3]

Wall lanterns are shapeless recipes made from the matching lantern.
Colored paper lamps work the same way, since they are shapeless recipes built from the White Paper Lamp. The Blue Paper Lamp is one example.[3]
The recipe dump labels all the recipes shown here as mod recipes, and it doesn't point to any pack-specific changes for them.[3]
Unverified Whether this mod has any configurable options in this pack couldn't be confirmed from the available sources.
How do you progress through Macaw's Lights and Lamps?
4 parts
Unverified No quests in this pack involve Macaw's Lights and Lamps, and the mod is not on the main quest path. There is no quest-driven progression to follow, so you can unlock these lights as soon as you can craft the materials. The tiers below are based only on the in-pack crafting recipes.
Everything I can confirm for this mod in the pack is a crafting-table recipe, and nothing in the recipe dump shows the pack changing any of them. Because the tiers come from the materials, you move up simply by getting access to better materials: torches first, then metals, then glowstone, lava and redstone lamps.[3]
Tier 1: torch-based lights
The cheapest lights are the Framed Torch and the Iron Framed Torch. Next come the tiki torches, with one for each wood type, such as the Acacia Tiki Torch, Birch Tiki Torch and Crimson Tiki Torch, plus a Bamboo Tiki Torch.[3]

The lantern family also belongs here: Bell Lantern, Chain Lantern, Covered Lantern, Cross Lantern and Festive Lantern. Each has a wall version, like the Chain Wall Lantern, made as a shapeless recipe from the matching lantern and a wooden fence.[3]

Tier 2: metal candle holders and chandeliers
Candle holders and chandeliers come in three metal sets: iron, copper and golden. Each set has a single, double, triple, low and wall candle holder, plus a chandelier and a small chandelier. The recipes follow the same pattern, so you just use whichever metal you have. Copper and gold also have their own chain items, Copper Chain and Golden Chain.[3]

Tier 3: glowstone, lava and lamps
The Garden Light and the wood-specific ceiling fan lights, like the Cherry Ceiling Fan Light and Dark Oak Ceiling Fan Light, use glowstone dust. You can also craft a Glowstone Slab and the Lava Lamp, which needs a lava bucket.[3]

The colored lamps and ceiling lights are the main redstone-lamp tier. Each one, such as the Blue Lamp and Blue Ceiling Light, is built from a matching wool color, a redstone lamp and a wooden fence.[3]

The paper lamps work differently. Every colored one, like the Blue Paper Lamp, is a shapeless recipe that recolors a White Paper Lamp with dye, so you only craft the white one from scratch.[3]
Street lamps
For outdoor builds, the Street Lamp Post and the Double Street Lamp Post are made from a vanilla lantern, a stone brick wall and a wooden fence.[3]

Unverified The recipe for the White Paper Lamp itself was not in the visible part of the recipe dump, so how to craft it is unconfirmed here.
What changed in Macaw's Lights and Lamps between versions?
1 part
All the Mods 10 0.38 includes Macaw's Lights and Lamps 1.1.1. The mod was first included in the pack in 0.32 or earlier, so it is not a recent addition.[2]
Mod version 1.1.1
The 1.1.1 changelog has a single entry. Many of the lights could not be crafted, because their recipes referenced an item from the tag forge:fences/wooden, and the changelog says that item doesn't exist. That is the issue this version fixes.[4]
Since 0.38 ships 1.1.1, the pack includes this fix.[2][4]
Unverified The pack changelogs have no entries for this mod, so the sources here do not show any pack-specific changes to its recipes or values across releases.
