What is Chisel Reborn?
3 parts
Chisel Reborn is a building and decoration mod. It adds lots of blocks that are variations of vanilla blocks, so you can give your base a lot more character without hunting for new materials. This pack includes version 2.0.1 for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge.[1][2]
Who it is for
If you like building and want more block designs for walls, floors and details, this one is for you. It does not add machines or resource chains, so it is purely about how your builds look.[1]
How you use it
Everything revolves around the Chisel. The pack's quest says you can right click with it to open its GUI, put up to a stack of blocks in, pick the design you want, and take them back out. You can also leave the blocks inside the tool.[3]
There is a faster way too. Left click a block with the chisel to change its design without opening the GUI. The quest also tells you this chisel has no durability, so you won't be replacing it.[3]
Where it fits in the pack
You meet it in the Building Tips quest chapter. The quest "Chisel Reborn" quest unlocks after the Changing Blocks quest, and its task is to obtain the Chisel. I couldn't confirm a crafting recipe for the chisel from the sources I had, so check the quest or the recipe viewer in game.[3]
Unverified The exact recipe for the Chisel and the full list of block variations in this pack were not confirmed from the available sources.
How do you get started with Chisel Reborn?
3 parts
Everything in Chisel Reborn begins with one tool: the Chisel. The mod adds lots of blocks that are variations of vanilla blocks, and the Chisel is how you switch a block between those designs. In the pack's quest book, "Chisel Reborn" quest sits in the Building Tips chapter and comes right after the Changing Blocks quest.[1][3]
Craft the Chisel
The pack changed the Chisel's recipe, so use the in-pack version below. It is a shaped crafting recipe.[4]
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | any iron ingot |
| Empty slot |
Recipe id: chisel:chisel
This is the pack's changed version of the Chisel recipe, not the mod default.
Learn the ways to use it
- Right Click with the Chisel to open its GUI. Put up to a stack of blocks into it, choose the design you want, and take the result out.[3]
- Or skip the GUI and Left Click a block with the Chisel to change its design on the spot.[3]
What to do next
Once you have the Chisel, try it on the blocks you already build with. The quest describes it as a way to change the designs of some blocks, so don't expect every block to offer variations.[3]
How does Chisel Reborn work?
2 parts
Chisel Reborn is a block-variation mod. The project page describes it as adding lots of blocks that are variations of vanilla blocks. The sources here don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation for it.[1]
The chisel
The tool at the center of the mod is the Chisel. The pack changes its crafting recipe, so don't assume the mod's default recipe applies here. This is the recipe the pack uses:[4]
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | any iron ingot |
| Empty slot |
Recipe id: chisel:chisel
This recipe is changed by the pack.
Block variants
The mod's language file lists Reinforced Cobble Dirt and Reinforced Cobble Stone as both blocks and items. These are examples of the variant blocks the mod adds.[5]
Unverified How the chisel's GUI works and which variants each block can be turned into are not shown in the sources here. The project page only has a GUI heading with no explanation under it, no in-jar guidebook was available for this mod, and the pack has no config files for it.
How do you progress through Chisel Reborn?
3 parts
Chisel Reborn doesn't have a tier ladder in this pack. The sources only show one progression step: getting the Chisel itself. Everything else is about using that tool on blocks you already have.[3][4]
The quest
The quest "Chisel Reborn" quest sits in the Building Tips chapter and unlocks after the Changing Blocks quest. Its task is to obtain the Chisel.[3]
Crafting the Chisel
The pack changed this recipe from the mod's default, so use the in-pack version shown below rather than recipes you remember from elsewhere.[4]
How to use it
- Right Click with the Chisel to open its GUI. Put up to a stack of blocks in, choose the design you want, then take them out.[3]
- You can also leave the blocks inside the Chisel, though the quest text says there's little reason to.[3]
- Left Click a block with the Chisel to change its design without opening the GUI.[3]
Unverified The sources don't confirm any further tiers, other chisel tools, or which blocks have which designs in this pack, so this guide doesn't cover them.
Which All the Mods 10 quests use Chisel Reborn?
1 part
In this pack, Chisel Reborn has one quest, and it sits in the Building Tips chapter. The quest is "Chisel Reborn" quest, and it comes right after the Changing Blocks quest in that chapter.[3]
Its task is the Chisel item. The quest text is a short intro to how the tool works.[3]
What the quest teaches you
- Right Click with the Chisel to open its GUI. You can put up to a stack of blocks into it, choose the design you want, and take the blocks back out. You can also leave them in the Chisel.[3]
- Left Click a block with the Chisel to change its design without opening the GUI.[3]
- The quest says this Chisel has no durability, so you don't need to worry about it wearing out.[3]
What changed in Chisel Reborn between versions?
Here's how Chisel Reborn has moved through the pack's releases. The pack changelogs only record version bumps, so I can't tell you what changed inside the mod itself.[2][6][7]
- All the Mods 10 2.25 or earlier: Chisel Reborn was already in the pack by this point. The mod list doesn't pin down the exact release that first added it.[2]
- All the Mods 10 2.39: updated from 1.8.2 to 2.0.0+mc1.21.1.[7]
- All the Mods 10 7.1: updated from 2.0.0+mc1.21.1 to 2.0.1+mc1.21.1.[6]
- All the Mods 10 8.1: still ships 2.0.1+mc1.21.1 (file chisel-neoforge-2.0.1+mc1.21.1.jar), so this release has no further Chisel Reborn change.[2]
Unverified There are no stored changelogs for the shipped jars, so what actually changed between 1.8.2, 2.0.0 and 2.0.1 (new blocks, fixes, recipe changes) is unverified here. The sources only show the version numbers.
