What is All the Wizard Gear?

All the Wizard Gear is part of the pack, and this guide covers the version that ships in it: 1.21-1.1.5. The pack ships it as the file allthewizardgear-1.21-1.1.5.jar.[1]

It isn't new here either. The pack has included it since version 0.32 or earlier, so it has been around for a while.[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't describe what the mod's items do, how they are crafted, or who they suit best. They also don't say where the mod fits in the pack's progression, or whether it is on the ATM Star path. Check the item pages in this guide for anything more specific.

How do you get started with All the Wizard Gear?

4 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.57 guide

All the Wizard Gear is a tier ladder. Every piece is made at a smithing table, and each metal tier upgrades the previous one: Allthemodium first, then Vibranium, then Unobtainium. So your first steps are about getting onto the bottom rung and climbing in order.[2]

Step 1: Make the Allthemodium Spell Book

Start with the Allthemodium Spell Book. It is a smithing upgrade of a spell book from another mod, not a normal crafting recipe, and it is the entry point for the book line. The pack's questbook also follows this order, so it is the one to chase first.[2][3]

The starting point for the spell book line.

The quest chain in the spells chapter asks for the books in the same order: Allthemodium first a quest in "?", then Vibranium a quest in "?", then Unobtainium a quest in "?". Each one unlocks the next, so it is a handy checklist.[3]

Step 2: Build the Allthemodium mage armor

Next, gear up. The Allthemodium armor pieces are smithing upgrades of base wizard armor, and the recipe accepts anything in the matching base wizard armor tag for each slot. Which exact items are in those tags is not confirmed in the sources I have, so check the recipe viewer in game.[2]

Smithing Transform

  • any allthemodium ingot

The other three pieces follow the same pattern.

Tip: Don't throw away your Allthemodium pieces. The next tier is an upgrade of the finished Allthemodium item, so each tier consumes the one below it.[2]

Step 3: Climb to Vibranium

Once you have Allthemodium gear, you can upgrade it. The Vibranium Spell Book is made from the Allthemodium Spell Book, and the Vibranium armor pieces work the same way: Vibranium Mage Hat, Vibranium Mage Robes, Vibranium Mage Leggings and Vibranium Mage Boots.[2]

The helmet, leggings and boots use matching recipes.

Step 4: Finish with Unobtainium

The top tier upgrades Vibranium gear. The Unobtainium Spell Book comes from the Vibranium Spell Book, and Unobtainium Mage Hat, Unobtainium Mage Robes, Unobtainium Mage Leggings and Unobtainium Mage Boots each come from their Vibranium counterpart.[2]

Unverified The sources don't say what stats, spell bonuses or abilities each tier gives, or which items fill the smithing tags. Check the in-game tooltips and recipe viewer for those. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How does All the Wizard Gear work?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.50 guide

This mod has no machines, multiblocks, power or fluid systems. In this pack, All the Wizard Gear is a set of mage armor and spell books, and the only crafting the sources show is smithing table upgrades. Everything below is how that upgrade chain works.[4]

The upgrade chain

Every piece is made with a smithing transform recipe, so you do it at a smithing table and not in a crafting grid. Each recipe takes three inputs: a smithing template item for that metal, the piece you are upgrading, and an ingot of the target metal. The result is the next tier of the same slot.[4]

  1. Allthemodium tier: start from a base wizard piece (helmet, chestplate, leggings or boots), add the Allthemodium smithing template and an Allthemodium ingot.[4]
  2. Vibranium tier: upgrade the matching Allthemodium piece with the Vibranium smithing template and a Vibranium ingot.[4]
  3. Unobtainium tier: upgrade the matching Vibranium piece with the Unobtainium smithing template and an Unobtainium ingot.[4]

The pieces are the Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium versions of the Mage Hat, Mage Robes, Mage Leggings and Mage Boots. For example, Allthemodium Mage Hat upgrades into Vibranium Mage Hat, which upgrades into Unobtainium Mage Hat.[4]

Smithing Transform

The entry point for armor: a base wizard helmet becomes the Allthemodium version.

Smithing Transform

Second step: the Allthemodium piece becomes Vibranium.

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: minecraft:unobtainium_mage_helmet_smithing

Final step: the Vibranium piece becomes Unobtainium.

Watch out: Each tier upgrades the previous tier's item, so the Vibranium and Unobtainium pieces cannot be skipped to. If you want Unobtainium gear, you have to make the Allthemodium and Vibranium versions first.[4]

Armor slots

The Allthemodium armor recipes use a base wizard piece for the matching slot (helmet, chestplate, leggings or boots). The same tier-by-tier chain then applies to all four slots. The sources don't show where those base wizard pieces come from, so check how you get them in your own world.[4]

Spell books

The spell books follow the same pattern but start from a different item. The Allthemodium version takes an Ancient Codex (Ancient Codex) plus the Allthemodium smithing template and an Allthemodium ingot, giving you Allthemodium Spell Book.[4]

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: minecraft:allthemodium_spell_book_smithing

From there you upgrade it into Vibranium Spell Book, and then into Unobtainium Spell Book, using the same template and ingot pairing as the armor.[4]

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: minecraft:vibranium_spell_book_smithing

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: minecraft:unobtainium_spell_book_smithing

Tip: The recipes accept any item from the template tag and any ingot from the matching ingot tag. If you have another mod's ingot that counts as Allthemodium, Vibranium or Unobtainium, it should work as the ingot input.[4]

Unverified The sources don't cover armor stats, set bonuses, spell book spell slots or power, how spells are cast, or any config options. This mod has no config files in the pack, so treat any numbers you may have seen elsewhere as unconfirmed for this pack.

How do you progress through All the Wizard Gear?

4 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.57 guide

Wizard gear in this pack follows a three-step ladder: Allthemodium, then Vibranium, then Unobtainium. Every step is a smithing upgrade, so you never craft a higher tier from scratch. You always build on the piece you already have.[2][3]

Tier 1: Allthemodium

This is where you enter the ladder. The Allthemodium Spell Book is a smithing upgrade of the Ancient Codex from Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks, so this tier ties into that mod.[2]

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: minecraft:allthemodium_spell_book_smithing

The armor set starts from the mod's base wizard armor pieces. You get Allthemodium Mage Hat, Allthemodium Mage Robes, Allthemodium Mage Leggings and Allthemodium Mage Boots, each with its own smithing recipe.[2]

Smithing Transform

  • any allthemodium smithing
  • any base wizard chestplate
  • any allthemodium ingot

Recipe id: minecraft:allthemodium_mage_chestplate_smithing

The helmet, leggings and boots follow the same pattern with their own base pieces.

Tier 2: Vibranium

The Vibranium tier upgrades your finished Allthemodium pieces. That applies to the Vibranium Spell Book and to the Vibranium Mage Hat, Vibranium Mage Robes, Vibranium Mage Leggings and Vibranium Mage Boots. Keep your Allthemodium gear, because you need it for this step.[2]

Tier 3: Unobtainium

The top tier upgrades the Vibranium versions. You end up with the Unobtainium Spell Book plus Unobtainium Mage Hat, Unobtainium Mage Robes, Unobtainium Mage Leggings and Unobtainium Mage Boots.[2]

Quests

The pack's quest book tracks the spell books in its Iron's Spells and Spellbooks chapter, and the quests follow the same tier order. Each quest after the first is unlocked by the one before it, and each asks you to have the matching spell book.[3]

  1. a quest in "?" asks for the Allthemodium Spell Book. It unlocks after another quest in the quest book.[3]
  2. a quest in "?" unlocks after the first quest and asks for the Vibranium Spell Book.[3]
  3. a quest in "?" unlocks after the second quest and asks for the Unobtainium Spell Book.[3]
Tip: The quests only ask for the spell books, not the armor. You can upgrade your armor alongside the books, since both follow the same three tiers.[2][3]

Unverified This section does not cover how stats, spell power or other bonuses differ between tiers, because the available pack data doesn't confirm those values.

How does All the Wizard Gear work with other mods?

This is a short section. The only in-pack link I can confirm between All the Wizard Gear and another mod is a single recipe: the Allthemodium Spell Book is made by upgrading the Ancient Codex at a smithing table.[5]

It uses a smithing transform recipe, so you upgrade the book instead of crafting it from scratch. The recipe below shows exactly what the pack asks for.[5]

Unverified No quests in this pack involve this mod, and I found no other recipes linking it to other mods. Any further integrations are unconfirmed.
