What is AE2 Import Export Card?

3 parts

This mod adds three cards for Applied Energistics 2: an Import card, an Export card and a Block Picker card. They work through your wireless terminal, so you can move items between your inventory and your ME system without walking back to a terminal block.[1]

The pack ships version 1.21-1.4.0 of the mod, and it has been in the pack since version 0.32 or earlier.[2]

What each card does

  • Import card: takes items from specific slots of your inventory and dumps them into your ME system. You set a filter, and a fuzzy card is supported. Switching the filter to a blacklist needs an inverter card.[1]
  • Export card: works the same way, but pulls items from your ME system into your inventory. You drag an item into a slot at the top and set the amount you want. An acceleration card raises the transfer speed from 1 item to an entire stack, and a crafting card automatically requests and crafts items that aren't currently available.[1]
  • Block Picker card: aim at a block and press the Pick Block keybind. If the matching block is in your network, it gets extracted into your inventory.[1]

Who it's for

It's for you if you already run an ME network and want to restock or clear your inventory on the go, or grab building blocks straight from storage while you build.[1]

Setting it up

Open your wireless terminal and put the Import or Export card in the slot on the right. To configure it, click one of the buttons on the left side. Clicking slots toggles a checkmark, and right clicking a slot clears it back to X.[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't show where this mod fits in the pack's progression, and they don't show any quests or an ATM Star path involving it. The pack's exact card recipes and any pack-specific changes to them are also unconfirmed here.

How do you get started with AE2 Import Export Card?

4 parts

This mod adds cards for your AE2 wireless terminal, so you can move items between your inventory and your ME system without walking back to a terminal. In this pack the first things to make are the Import Card and the Export Card.[1][3]

Step 1: Make the Import Card

Start here. The Import Card takes items from specific slots of your inventory and dumps them into your ME system.[1]

Step 2: Make the Export Card

The Export Card works the opposite way. It pulls items from your ME system into your inventory, so you can keep your favorite tools and building blocks stocked.[1]

Install and configure

  1. Open your wireless terminal and add the Import or Export card in the slot on the right.[1]
  2. Click one of the buttons on the left side to configure the card.[1]
  3. For the Import Card, click slots to make a checkmark on the inventory slots you want it to take from. Drag items to the top to change the filter.[1]
  4. For the Export Card, drag an item from your inventory into one of the slots at the top. Then click a slot in your inventory to change it to the number you want. Right-clicking clears it back to X.[1]

Optional upgrades

  • A fuzzy card is supported by the Import Card and the Export Card.[1]
  • Changing the Import Card's filter to a blacklist requires an inverter card.[1]
  • On the Export Card, an acceleration card improves the transfer speed from 1 to an entire stack of items.[1]
  • On the Export Card, a crafting card is used to automatically request and craft items that are currently not available.[1]

Unverified The mod's project page also describes a Block Picker card, which extracts the block you're looking at from your network when you press the Pick Block keybind. The pack's recipe data only lists the Import and Export cards, so it's unverified whether or how you can get the Block Picker card in this pack.

How does AE2 Import Export Card work?

4 parts

The mod adds cards that live inside your Applied Energistics 2 wireless terminal. There are no machines or multiblocks to build. Everything happens between your own inventory and your ME system. Here is how each card works.[1]

Installing a card

Open your wireless terminal and put the Import Card or the Export Card in the slot on the right. To configure a card, click one of the buttons on the left side of that screen.[1]

Import Card

The Import Card takes items from specific slots of your inventory and dumps them into your ME system. Clicking a slot puts a checkmark on it. Drag items from your inventory to the top of the screen to change the filter.[1]

  • A fuzzy card is supported for the filter.[1]
  • To turn the filter into a blacklist, you need an inverter card.[1]

This is the exact in-pack recipe.

Export Card

The Export Card works the same way, but in reverse: it pulls items from your ME system into your inventory. Drag an item from your inventory into one of the slots at the top to say what you want. Then click a slot in your inventory to set the amount. Right-clicking clears it back to X.[1]

  • A fuzzy card is supported here too.[1]
  • An acceleration card improves the transfer speed from 1 item to an entire stack of items.[1]
  • A crafting card automatically requests and crafts items that are currently not available in your network.[1]

This is the exact in-pack recipe.

Tip: Put an acceleration card in your Export Card if you want whole stacks to move at once. Add a crafting card if you want missing items to be requested from your autocrafting automatically.[1]

Block Picker Card

The project page also describes a Block Picker card. Aim at a block and press the "Pick Block" keybind. If the matching block is available in your network, it is extracted straight into your inventory.[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't show a crafting recipe for the Block Picker card in this pack, so I can't say how to get it here. They also don't cover power use, range limits or which other terminals work with the cards, and the pack has no config files for this mod, so there are no options to tweak.

How do you progress through AE2 Import Export Card?

2 parts

This mod doesn't have a tier ladder in the pack. The recipe dump shows just two items, the Import Card and the Export Card, and each has a single shaped crafting recipe. I found no upgraded or higher-tier versions of either card.[3]

The two cards

Both cards are made at a crafting table with a shaped recipe. You'll want to be well into your AE2 setup before you make either one, because both recipes use AE2 components and not basic materials. Here they are exactly as the pack defines them.[3]

The two recipes follow the same pattern, so you can craft both once you have the parts for one. They differ only in which of the two AE2 buses goes in.[3]

Quests and progression

Unverified I couldn't confirm any quest in this pack that involves this mod, and it doesn't appear to be on the main quest path. There is no quest-based unlock order to follow, so craft the cards whenever your AE2 progress allows.

How does AE2 Import Export Card work with other mods?

2 parts

This mod is an add-on for Applied Energistics 2, so its main connection in the pack is to AE2. Both cards are crafted from AE2 components, and you use them through AE2's wireless terminal.[1][3]

Crafting: AE2 parts

The Import Card and the Export Card each use an Advanced Card, a Calculation Processor and an Engineering Processor. Each card is built around the AE2 bus that matches it: the ME Import Bus for the import card and the ME Export Bus for the export card. A Redstone Block from vanilla Minecraft completes both recipes.[3]

The in-pack Import Card recipe.

The in-pack Export Card recipe.

Because the processors are AE2 items, you need to be set up with AE2 crafting before you can make either card.[3]

Using the cards with AE2

The project page says you open your wireless terminal and put the Import or Export card in the slot on the right. The import card moves items from chosen inventory slots into your ME system. The export card pulls items from your ME system into your inventory.[1]

The project page also lists other AE2 cards that work with these cards. A fuzzy card is supported for filtering, and an inverter card is needed to switch the filter to a blacklist. On the export card, an acceleration card raises the transfer speed from 1 item to a full stack, and a crafting card automatically requests and crafts items your network doesn't currently have.[1]

Unverified These upgrade-card behaviors come from the mod's own project page. I could not check whether this pack changes any of them, so the in-game behavior may differ.
