What is XTones Reworked?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.2 guide
The pack ships XTones Reworked in version 1.1.1-1.21.1 (file xtonesreworked-1.1.1-1.21.1.jar). It has been part of the pack since version 0.62 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
Unverified What XTones Reworked adds in detail is not confirmed by the sources available for this guide, so this section doesn't describe its features, items or recipes.
How do you get started with XTones Reworked?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
XTones Reworked is a big set of building blocks, and almost all of it grows out of one starter item. The pack has 300 shaped recipes that turn Xtone items into other Xtone items, plus 256 stonecutting recipes, so the trick is knowing the order. Here it is.[2]
Step 1: make Xtone Tile
Xtone Tile is the base for the vanilla-material recipes in the mod. One craft gives you 8 tiles, so you do not need to craft it many times.[2]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: xtonesreworked:xtone_tile
One craft makes 8 Xtone Tile.
Step 2: turn tiles into a block family
Each block family pairs the tile with one other material and gives you 8 blocks per craft. Agon is a good first one, and it is the base for a whole range of colours.[2]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:agon_block_0
Makes 8 Agon from Xtone Tile.
Once you have Agon, you can recolour it. Agon Variants 1 to 15 each have their own dye recipe that uses an Agon block, and each craft makes 8. Here is Variant 1 as an example.[2]
Crafting Shaped
| any agon | any agon | any agon |
| any agon | any yellow dye | any agon |
| any agon | any agon | any agon |
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:agon_block_1
Each Agon variant has its own recipe like this one, and makes 8.
Other families follow the same pattern with a different partner for the tile, for example Cray, Fort, Glaxx and Roen. Each one makes 8 blocks per craft.[2]
Step 3: use the stonecutter for Azur
Azur is crafted straight from the tile and makes 8 blocks. After that, you do not need to craft the other Azur looks. Variants 1 to 15 all have stonecutting recipes that take any Azur block.[2]

Stonecutting

Recipes the pack changed
Two recipes in this pack are different from the mod's own versions, so go by the recipe blocks below and not by older guides. Bitt is one. It still makes 8 per craft from the tile.[2]

The other is the Flat Lamp, a light source from the mod. One craft makes 2 lamps.[2]

How does XTones Reworked work?
5 parts
Here's the honest picture for this pack: the sources I have for XTones Reworked cover crafting, stonecutting and what blocks drop. They don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item automation, so this section sticks to how the blocks are actually made and handled.[3]
Everything starts with the Xtone Tile
The Xtone Tile is the base material for the mod's block families. One craft gives you 8 tiles.[3]

Recipe id: xtonesreworked:xtone_tile

Block families
Each family is crafted from the tile plus one base material, and each craft makes 8 blocks. The base blocks are Agon, Cray, Fort, Glaxx, ISZM, Korp and Kryp. The recipes are below.[3]

Korp: 8 blocks per craft.

Recipe id: xtonesreworked:kryp_block_0
Kryp: 8 blocks per craft.
The families come in numbered variants. The language file lists variants 0 to 15 for Agon, Azur, Cray, Fort, Glaxx, ISZM, Korp and Kryp, for example Agon Variant 1 up to Agon Variant 15.[4]
Getting the variants
Agon variants are made with dye. Each variant has its own crafting recipe that takes any Agon block and gives 8 of the variant. There is also an alternate recipe that makes the plain Agon block from the same Agon tag.[3]
Crafting Shaped
| any agon | any agon | any agon |

| any agon | any agon | any agon |
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:agon_block_0_alternate
The alternate Agon recipe also makes 8.
Azur variants use the stonecutter instead. Each variant, such as Azur Variant 1, has a stonecutting recipe that turns any Azur block into that variant, so you can cycle between looks without dye.[3]
Stonecutting
- any azur
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:azur_block_1_from_stonecutting
Stonecutting: any Azur block becomes this variant.
Stonecutting is used widely across the mod. The dump counts 256 stonecutting recipes with 256 different results, taking 16 of the mod's block groups as inputs. It also counts 300 shaped crafting recipes that take a dye or other tag and make blocks of this mod, plus 22 more that combine vanilla items with the mod's own items.[3]
Flat Lamp
The Flat Lamp is the light source in this list. The pack changed its recipe from the mod's own, and one craft makes 2 lamps.[3]
Crafting Shaped

What the blocks drop
The loot tables I can see for Agon, Azur and the first Bitt variants all work the same way: a single pool with one roll that drops the block itself. Breaking one gives you the block back.[5][6][7]
Unverified Loot tables for some other blocks, such as bitt_block_5 to bitt_block_9 and several Cray variants, are too long to include in the sources here. They live in the mod's data folder under loot_table/blocks, and I can't confirm what they contain.
How do you progress through XTones Reworked?
5 parts
XTones Reworked is a decorative block mod, and the recipes in this pack don't form a tier ladder. What you get is a short crafting chain: make one base material, turn it into a block family, then branch into colour and pattern variants. Every recipe in the sources fits that chain.[3]
Step 1: Xtone Tile
Everything starts with Xtone Tile. One craft makes 8 tiles, and the family base-block recipes below all take a tile as an ingredient.[3]
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | ||
| Empty slot |
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:xtone_tile
Crafting makes 8 Xtone Tiles at once.
Step 2: pick a block family
Each family has a base block that you craft from a tile plus one other material. Each craft makes 8 blocks. The sources show families such as Agon, Cray, Fort, Glaxx, Korp, Lair and Vena.[3]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:agon_block_0
Agon is the base block of its family and makes 8 per craft.
The Agon base block and the Azur base block are shown with loot tables that drop the block itself, so mining them gives you the block back.[5][6]
Step 3: recolour with dyes
The Agon family has 16 entries, from the base block to Variant 15. You make each coloured variant by combining a dye with any Agon block. Agon Variant 1 uses yellow dye as an example, and each craft makes 8.[3]
Crafting Shaped
| any agon | any agon | any agon |
| any agon | any yellow dye | any agon |
| any agon | any agon | any agon |
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:agon_block_1
Yellow dye plus any Agon block gives 8 Agon Variant 1.
Bitt is made with a tile and coal, and the pack changed this recipe. The other Bitt variants then use dyes on any Bitt block, the same way Agon does.[3]
Crafting Shaped
| any coal | ||
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:bitt_block_0
The pack changed this recipe from the mod's version.
Azur is crafted from a tile and blue dye. The remaining Azur variants are not dye crafts, so move on to the stonecutter.[3]
Crafting Shaped
| any blue dye | ||
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:azur_block_0
A tile and blue dye give 8 Azur.
Step 4: the stonecutter
Some families change pattern in the stonecutter. Put any Azur block in and you can pick any other Azur variant, for example Azur Variant 1. Jelt works the same way, and the stonecutting recipes for Jelt through Jelt Variant 15 take any Jelt block as input.[3]
Stonecutting
- any azur
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:azur_block_1_from_stonecutting
Any Azur block can be stonecut into another variant.
Across the mod, the recipe dump counts 300 shaped crafting recipes and 256 stonecutting recipes, so most of your variety comes from these two steps.[3]
Lighting
Flat Lamp is the one item in the sources that the pack changed besides Bitt. It makes 2 lamps per craft.[3]
