What is XTones Reworked?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.2 guide
The pack ships XTones Reworked in version 1.1.1-1.21.1 (file xtonesreworked-1.1.1-1.21.1.jar). It has been part of the pack since version 0.62 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
Unverified What XTones Reworked adds in detail is not confirmed by the sources available for this guide, so this section doesn't describe its features, items or recipes.
How do you get started with XTones Reworked?
4 parts
XTones Reworked is a big set of building blocks, and almost all of it grows out of one starter item. The pack has 300 shaped recipes that turn Xtone items into other Xtone items, plus 256 stonecutting recipes, so the trick is knowing the order. Here it is.[2]
Step 1: make Xtone Tile
Xtone Tile is the base for the vanilla-material recipes in the mod. One craft gives you 8 tiles, so you do not need to craft it many times.[2]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: xtonesreworked:xtone_tile
One craft makes 8 Xtone Tile.
Step 2: turn tiles into a block family
Each block family pairs the tile with one other material and gives you 8 blocks per craft. Agon is a good first one, and it is the base for a whole range of colours.[2]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:agon_block_0
Makes 8 Agon from Xtone Tile.
Once you have Agon, you can recolour it. Agon Variants 1 to 15 each have their own dye recipe that uses an Agon block, and each craft makes 8. Here is Variant 1 as an example.[2]
Crafting Shaped
| any agon | any agon | any agon |
| any agon | any yellow dye | any agon |
| any agon | any agon | any agon |
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:agon_block_1
Each Agon variant has its own recipe like this one, and makes 8.
Other families follow the same pattern with a different partner for the tile, for example Cray, Fort, Glaxx and Roen. Each one makes 8 blocks per craft.[2]
Step 3: use the stonecutter for Azur
Azur is crafted straight from the tile and makes 8 blocks. After that, you do not need to craft the other Azur looks. Variants 1 to 15 all have stonecutting recipes that take any Azur block.[2]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: xtonesreworked:azur_block_0
Makes 8 Azur from Xtone Tile.
Stonecutting
- any azur
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:azur_block_1_from_stonecutting
Stonecutting gives one Azur Variant 1 from any Azur block.
Recipes the pack changed
Two recipes in this pack are different from the mod's own versions, so go by the recipe blocks below and not by older guides. Bitt is one. It still makes 8 per craft from the tile.[2]
Crafting Shaped
| any coal | ||
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:bitt_block_0
Changed by the pack. Makes 8 Bitt.
The other is the Flat Lamp, a light source from the mod. One craft makes 2 lamps.[2]

How does XTones Reworked work?
5 parts
XTones Reworked is a block-crafting mod. The sources for this pack describe it through its recipes and block names, so this section covers how those blocks are made and recolored, not machines or power.[2][3]
Start with Xtone Tile
Everything begins with Xtone Tile. One craft gives you eight tiles, and it is the only item from this mod that other crafts in the pack's recipe list take as an ingredient.[2]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: xtonesreworked:xtone_tile
One craft makes 8 Xtone Tiles.
Base blocks
Each base block is Xtone Tile combined with one vanilla material. Every craft makes 8 blocks. The sources show Agon, Cray, Fort, Glaxx, ISZM, Korp and Kryp made this way.[2]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:agon_block_0
Agon is the family the dye variants below are built on.
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:cray_block_0
The other base blocks follow the same pattern, with a different vanilla material.
Dye variants
Families like Agon come in numbered variants, for example Agon Variant 1 and Agon Variant 10. You make each one by crafting a dye with a block from the Agon family, and each craft gives 8. The recipe accepts any block tagged as Agon, so you can recolor from whichever variant you already have. There is also an alternate recipe for the base Agon block that uses white dye.[2][3]
Crafting Shaped
| any agon | any agon | any agon |
| any agon | any red dye | any agon |
| any agon | any agon | any agon |
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:agon_block_10
Variant 10 uses red dye. Each color has its own variant number.
The pack has 300 crafting recipes in this dye style, which make 298 different results. They cover 19 mod ingredient tags, such as the Agon, Bitt, Cray, Fort, Glaxx and ISZM families.[2]
Stonecutter variants
Some families skip dyes and use the stonecutter. For Azur, put in any Azur block and pick the variant you want, such as Azur Variant 1 or Azur Variant 15. This also works for the base Azur.[2]
Stonecutting
- any azur
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:azur_block_1_from_stonecutting
Any Azur block can be turned into any other Azur variant.
In total the pack has 256 stonecutting recipes for this mod, each with a different result. They draw on 16 mod ingredient tags, including Azur, Jelt, Korp, Kryp, Lair and Lave.[2]
Flat Lamp
Flat Lamp is the one recipe in the sources that the pack changed. Use the recipe below for the pack's version, which makes 2 lamps per craft.[2]

How do you progress through XTones Reworked?
3 parts
XTones Reworked has no power tiers in this pack. What the recipes show is a crafting chain: you make a base material, turn it into base blocks, then branch out into colour variants. Here is the order I would follow.[2]
Step 1: Xtone Tile
Everything starts with Xtone Tile. One craft gives you 8 tiles, so you can stock up cheaply.[2]
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | ||
| Empty slot |
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:xtone_tile
Craft this first, because the base block recipes all use it.
Step 2: Base blocks
Each base block is the tile plus one extra material, and each craft makes 8 blocks. The base blocks include Agon, Cray, Glaxx, Fort and Azur. Here are two examples.[2]

Pack-changed recipe, makes 2 lamps per craft.
Step 3: Colour variants
Agon and Bitt variants are crafted from a dye plus any block of the same family, and each craft gives 8 blocks. Agon Variant 1 is one example. Because any block of the family works as the input, you can recolour blocks you already have.[2]
Crafting Shaped
| any agon | any agon | any agon |
| any agon | any yellow dye | any agon |
| any agon | any agon | any agon |
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:agon_block_1
Each dye gives a different Agon variant.
Azur and Jelt variants work differently: you use the stonecutter. Any block of the family turns into any other variant, one for one. Azur Variant 1 is one example.[2]
Stonecutting
- any azur
Recipe id: xtonesreworked:azur_block_1_from_stonecutting
The Azur and Jelt variants all follow this stonecutting pattern.
In total the pack has 300 shaped crafting recipes and 256 stonecutting recipes making items from this mod, so most of the work is choosing which variant you want.[2]
Unverified The pack's quest book is not shown in the sources here as having any quest for this mod, so there is no quest order to follow. Check the quest chapters in game if you want to see whether anything unlocks these blocks.
