What is Sophisticated Core?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide
Sophisticated Core is included in this pack at version 1.0.5, shipped as the Minecraft 1.21.1 build sophisticatedcore-1.21.1-1.0.5.813.jar. It has been in the pack since version 0.32 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the mod list rather than a recent addition.[1]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe what Sophisticated Core does in gameplay, who it is aimed at, or where it fits in the pack's progression. They also don't show it on the ATM Star path or tied to any quests, so I'm not making claims about those. Check back once more detail is available.
How do you get started with Sophisticated Core?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 11 0.6.0-beta guide
Here's the honest picture for this one: the sources I have for Sophisticated Core only cover its screen text, not any recipes, quests or configs. So I can't give you a crafting order or point you to a recipe for this mod. What I can do is show you the tools its inventory screens give you, so you know what to look for once you have a backpack or storage block open.[2]
Sorting and moving items
The storage screen has a Sort Inventory button. You can sort by count, by mod, by name or by tags, which helps a lot once your storage fills up with modded items.[2]
There are also transfer buttons: Transfer to Inventory and Transfer to Storage. Each has a filtered version that moves only matching items, and the tooltip says to hold Shift to transfer all.[2]
The screen also has a search box. If nothing matches, it tells you "No items match the search".[2]
Settings worth checking early
- Keep Search Phrase: when it is OFF, the screen clears your search when you close it and shows everything the next time you open it. When it is ON, it keeps the phrase and filters by it again on reopening.[2]
- Keep Tab Open: when it is ON, the storage remembers which upgrade tab was last open and reopens it next time. When it is OFF, all tabs start closed.[2]
- Player-level settings apply to all backpacks and storages unless a specific one overrides them.[2]
- Settings templates: you can save your settings to a slot, load them from a slot, and export them to a data pack as an snbt file.[2]
Upgrade slot rules
The error messages hint at how upgrades behave. You can't have a second Battery Upgrade in another upgrade slot. The game also warns that there are already two Tank Upgrades when you try to add more. If a backpack can't support a battery or tank upgrade, the message tells you to upgrade the backpack or add a stack multiplier. Only admins can remove an Infinity Upgrade.[2]
Unverified The first items to craft for this mod, and their recipes in this pack, could not be confirmed from the available sources.
How does Sophisticated Core work?
6 parts
Sophisticated Core supplies the interface text for backpack and storage screens, and that text tells us a lot about how those screens behave. The only source here is the mod's own English language file, so this section covers what you can do in the interface: sorting, transferring, searching, per-slot settings, upgrade rules and status messages.[3]
Sorting and moving items
The Sort Inventory button sorts a storage. You can pick the sort order: By Count, By Mod, By Name or By Tags.[3]
There are also transfer buttons: Transfer to Inventory and Transfer to Storage, plus filtered versions called Transfer Matching to Inventory and Transfer Matching to Storage. The filtered buttons carry a Shift To Transfer All hint in their tooltips.[3]
Shift clicking has its own setting. With Shift Click Into Inventory First, a shift click from storage or inventory tries the other side first, and only then an open upgrade tab. Switch it to Shift Click Into Open Tab First and the order flips: the open tab is tried first, then the inventory or storage.[3]
Searching
Click the search box to filter what you see. Start your text with @ to search by mod name. If nothing matches, you get a "No items match the search" message.[3]
Keep Search Phrase decides what happens when you reopen a screen. When it is OFF, the search phrase is cleared on close and everything shows again on the next open. When it is ON, the phrase is kept and used to prefill and filter when you reopen it.[3]
Per-slot settings
The settings screen has slot-based tools for Memory, No Sort and Item Display. In each one you select slots with left click or drag and unselect them with right click or drag. There are also Select All Slots and Unselect All Slots buttons.[3]
- Memory: selected slots remember their contents and only allow matching stacks in them.[3]
- No Sort: the selected slots are ignored when you sort.[3]
- Item Display: you pick a slot whose item is shown on top of the storage.[3]
Other options let you choose which side the display shows on (front, left or right), rotate with left click for clockwise and right click for counter-clockwise, and cycle colors with left click for next and right click for previous. A No Color option is also available.[3]
Player-level settings and templates
The Player context holds player-level settings. Its tooltip says they apply to all backpacks and storages unless overridden.[3]
You can save your settings to a slot and load them back later. Scroll to change slot, and you can enter a name for the slot. If the settings don't fit in the storage you are loading into, you are told so, and if there is nothing saved you are told that too.[3]
You can also export settings. This creates a data pack with an snbt file. The file name can't be empty or contain invalid characters.[3]
Upgrade tabs
Each upgrade shows an ON, OFF or INACTIVE state. The Keep Tab Open setting controls whether the last open upgrade tab is recorded and reopened next time. When it is OFF, all tabs start closed.[3]
The mod also enforces rules on which upgrades can go where. These are the error messages you may run into:[3]
- Some upgrades need all upgrade slots to be empty before they can be added.[3]
- Some upgrades can only be used once, or only a set number of times, in a given storage.[3]
- Only one Battery Upgrade is allowed. If the battery needs more energy than the backpack supports, you need to upgrade the backpack or add a stack multiplier.[3]
- You can't add a Tank Upgrade when two are already present in other upgrade slots. A tank upgrade that needs more capacity than the backpack supports also needs a better backpack or a stack multiplier.[3]
- Some upgrades need certain inventory slots to be free, and you are told when an item is blocking one of them.[3]
- Removing an upgrade can be blocked by a banned item that must come out first, or by a slot or upgrade that needs a higher stack multiplier. Only admins can remove the Infinity Upgrade.[3]
Deposit and restock messages
The mod also has messages for depositing items into storage, restocking stacks from storage, and finding items. They report things like "Deposited %s items into storage", "All stacks are already full" and "No storage was found in range". When you look for an item, you are told whether the exact item or just the item type was found, and in how many locations.[3]
Unverified The sources here do not show any capacities, multiplier values, ranges or config options for Sophisticated Core. The pack has no config files for this mod that the sources cover, and no recipes in the pack produce its items.
How does Sophisticated Core work with other mods?
1 part
The only cross-mod links I can confirm for Sophisticated Core in this pack are two recipes that the pack adds itself. Both combine an item from Sophisticated Core with an item from Create, and both are processed in Integrated Dynamics machines.[4]
Drying basin recipes
The pack adds one recipe for the Integrated Dynamics drying basin and another for the mechanical drying basin. Both take Create's Block of Experience together with Sophisticated Core's Xp Still. Here are the exact in-pack recipes:[4]
Drying Basin (integrateddynamics)
Recipe id: integrateddynamics:kjs/7hu9cebnovsawy8n3ffmgjxhi
This is the drying basin version, added by the pack.
Mechanical Drying Basin (integrateddynamics)
Recipe id: integrateddynamics:kjs/8nhz2ocpfun8acejn69klgi83
This is the mechanical drying basin version, also added by the pack.
