What is More Red?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide

More Red is included in this pack at version 6.0.0.3, built for Minecraft 1.21.1 (the jar is morered-1.21.1-6.0.0.3.jar). It has been part of the pack since version 0.32 or earlier, so it's a long-standing member of the mod list.[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't describe what More Red adds, who it suits, or its recipes, configs and mechanics in this pack. I'm not guessing at those. The pack's mod list is the only confirmed information so far.

Unverified I found no quests in this pack that involve More Red, and the mod doesn't appear on the ATM Star path. No platform page or in-jar guidebook was available to confirm either point or to say where the mod fits in progression.

How do you get started with More Red?

6 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide

More Red is a redstone mod, and almost everything in it starts from one new material: red alloy. Here is the order I'd go in, with the real in-pack recipes shown below each step.[2]

Step 1: Red Alloy Ingot

Your first craft is the Red Alloy Ingot. This recipe is marked as changed by the pack, so don't trust a recipe you remember from the mod's defaults. Use the one below.[2]

Step 2: Red Alloy Wire

Next, turn the ingot into Red Alloy Wire. One craft gives you 12 wires, so a single ingot goes a long way. The wire is also what the network cables are built on later.[2]

Step 3: Stone Plates

The Stone Plate is the base piece of the mod. Crafting from a smooth stone slab gives you 12 plates. The stonecutter is the cheaper way to get fewer: a slab gives 4 plates, and a full smooth stone block gives 8.[2]

Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: morered:stone_plate

Most of the gate recipes below ask for a smooth stone quarter slab, so keep smooth stone on hand.[2]

Step 4: Your first logic parts

Once you have plates and redstone, start with the simple gates. The Diode and the NOT Gate are good first builds.[2]

The same family also includes the AND Gate, NAND Gate, NOR Gate and Latch. They all share the same kind of crafting recipe.[2]

Soldering

The mod also has a Soldering Table and a Soldering category in its screen. The pack has a separate soldering version of many gate recipes, including the diode. For example, the soldered diode needs only redstone dust and a smooth stone quarter slab.[2][3]

Unverified How to craft the Soldering Table itself is not confirmed in the sources for this guide, so check its recipe in-game. This site does hold All the Mods 10: To the Sky's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

Step 5: Cables and posts

When you're ready to wire things together, make some Redwire Post and Redwire Spool from your red alloy.[2]

For colored cables, a network cable craft such as Blue Network Cable gives you 8 cables. Craft network cables into Bundled Network Cable and you get 3 bundled cables per craft. The bitwise gates and the bundled cable parts all need those bundled cables.[2]

How does More Red work?

5 parts

More Red is all about redstone logic and wiring. The sources I have for this pack don't include a guidebook or config files for it, so this section sticks to what the mod's block list, tags and the pack's recipes show.[3][4]

Logic gates

The mod adds a full set of single-block gates. The list below covers everything the language file names.[3]

  • Basic gates: AND, Two Input AND, NAND, Two Input NAND, NOR, NOT, OR, XOR and XNOR.[3]
  • Signal helpers: Diode, Latch, Pulse Gate and Multiplexer, plus a block called the Hexidecrubrometer.[3]
  • Bitwise versions: Bitwise AND, NOT, OR, XOR, XNOR and a Bitwise Diode.[3]

Some gates have two recipes in this pack: normal crafting and soldering. The AND Gate is a good example, and the Diode and Two Input AND Gate work the same way. The Pulse Gate and Multiplexer both show up with ordinary crafting recipes.[4]

Soldering

The mod has a Soldering Table block and a recipe category called Soldering. The pack's recipe dump counts 17 soldering recipes in one group and 8 more in another, so it's a big part of how this mod's parts are made.[3][4]

Cables and bundling

Network cables come in a long list of dye colours, from Black and Blue through to Yellow. The mod also has a Red Alloy Wire block. Each colour is crafted from the matching dye, and one craft makes 8 cables.[3][4]

Crafting Shaped

Bundled Network Cable is made from regular network cables, and one craft gives you 3. Bundled cable is the input that the bitwise gates, the bundled posts and the spool all rely on in their recipes.[4]

Posts, relay plates and spools

For longer runs there are posts. The mod has a Redwire Post, a Redwire Post Plate and a Redwire Post Relay Plate. The bundled equivalents are the Bundled Cable Post and the Bundled Cable Relay Plate, and both sit in the same block tag, bundled_cable_posts.[3][5]

Materials

Red Alloy Ingot is a shapeless recipe that the pack has changed from the mod's own version. The sources don't show what the original looked like, so use the recipe below as the pack's truth.[4]

How do you progress through More Red?

5 parts

More Red has no tier system as such. What you get is a chain of recipes, and each step builds on the one before. This page follows that chain from the first alloy to bundled cables. The order comes from the in-pack recipes, so read it as a sensible build order and not an official ladder.[4]

First steps: red alloy and stone plates

Everything starts with Red Alloy Ingot. The pack changed this recipe, so don't assume the mod's default applies here. Craft it as shown below.[4]

One red alloy ingot crafts into 12 Red Alloy Wire. Those wires feed the cables and spools further down the chain.[4]

Stone Plate is the base for many of the gates. You can craft 12 from a smooth stone slab. The stonecutter gives 4 per smooth stone slab or 8 per smooth stone block.[4]

The soldering table and basic gates

Build a Soldering Table early. The basic gates have a normal crafting recipe, a soldering recipe, or both. The sources show only soldering recipes for the bitwise gates and the Hexidecrubrometer.[4]

The basic logic parts all have a soldering version: Diode, Latch, NOT Gate, OR Gate, NOR Gate, AND Gate, NAND Gate, XOR Gate and XNOR Gate. The two input AND and NAND gates (Two Input AND Gate, Two Input NAND Gate) follow the same pattern.[4]

Recipe id: morered:xor_gate_from_soldering

An example of a soldering recipe. The other basic gates have soldering versions too.

The Pulse Gate and Multiplexer step up a little. Both have crafting and soldering recipes in the pack.[4]

Network cables

Network cables come in one colour per dye. Each craft makes 8 cables from a dye, wool and red alloy wire. Pick a colour per signal line, for example Red Network Cable or Blue Network Cable.[4]

Crafting Shaped

Bitwise gates

The bitwise gates are the top of the logic chain. The sources show only soldering recipes for them, and each one needs a bundled network cable. They are Bitwise Diode, Bitwise NOT Gate, Bitwise AND Gate, Bitwise OR Gate, Bitwise XOR Gate and Bitwise XNOR Gate.[4]

Soldering (morered)

  • any redstone dust
  • any quartz gem
  • 2× any smooth stone quarter slab
  • any bundled network cable

Recipe id: morered:bitwise_and_gate_from_soldering

A bitwise gate recipe. The other bitwise gates use the same ingredients.

The Hexidecrubrometer also shows only a soldering recipe, and it is the most expensive recipe in the set: 9 redstone dust, 4 quartz and 8 smooth stone quarter slabs.[4]

Posts, plates and spools

For long runs, use the redwire line: Redwire Post, Redwire Post Plate, Redwire Post Relay Plate and Redwire Spool. Each has a recipe in the pack, and the posts and plates also have soldering versions.[4]

The bundled line mirrors it: Bundled Cable Post, Bundled Cable Relay Plate and Bundled Cable Spool. They use bundled network cables in place of red alloy.[4]

Soldering (morered)

  • any bundled network cable
