What is Mama's Herbs and Harvest?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 7.0 guide
Mama's Herbs and Harvest is part of this pack, shipped as version 1.21.1-12 (the file herbsandharvest-1.21.1-12.jar). It isn't a new addition. It has been in the modlist since pack version 2.25 or earlier, so it's a settled part of the lineup.[1]
Unverified What the mod adds, who it's aimed at and where it fits in the pack's progression can't be confirmed yet, so those details are left out. Look the mod up in-game with a recipe viewer to see its items and recipes. This site does hold All the Mods 10: To the Sky's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with Mama's Herbs and Harvest?
6 parts
This mod is about farming and cooking. It adds crops, herbs, fruit trees, cookware and a long list of cooked dishes. Here is the order I'd start in, and why.[2]
Craft the handbook first
Start with The Homesteader's Handbook. It is the mod's own guide item, and the mod's text includes guide entries that describe dishes, such as Bagel and Cream Cheese. It is a good thing to have on hand before you start cooking.[2][3]
Make your cookware
Next come the Empty Pot and the Empty Baking Pan. The pot goes into the Pot of Beef Stew, shown below, and the mod has pan dishes such as the Pan of Chicken. The pack changed both cookware recipes, so use the ones below and not what you remember from other packs.[2][3]

Start a crop
You can craft seeds straight from the crop. Barley is a good first pick because it also leads to the Barley Bread and the Bagel, with their recipes shown below the seed recipe. Turn it into seeds like this:[3]

Asparagus, Blackberry and Blueberry can be turned into seeds too.[3]
Slice your bread
Bread Slice shows up in sandwiches like the Beef and Cheddar Sandwich, which needs 2 slices. Crafting one bread gives you 8 slices. There is also a Farmer's Delight cutting recipe that turns bread into a slice with a knife.[3]

How does Mama's Herbs and Harvest work?
4 parts
Mama's Herbs and Harvest is all about preparing food. The sources show a handful of cooking blocks and a few recipe types, so this section covers what they actually confirm.[2][3]
Cheese and dairy
Dairy products are made in the Cheesemaking Cauldron. It has to be empty first: if it isn't, the mod tells you to empty it before making dairy products.[2]
The mod also has a Cheese Aging Shelf and aged cheeses such as Aged Cheddar and Aged Gouda. Its in-game handbook, The Homesteader's Handbook, has pages called "Using the Cheese Shelf" and "Aging on the Cheese Shelf".[2]
Once a cheese is aged, you slice it with a knife. These are cutting recipes, and any knife from the knife tool tag works. Aged Cheddar gives a Aged Cheddar Wedge and Aged Gouda gives a Aged Gouda Wedge.[3]

Cutting is used a lot in this mod. The recipe dump counts 48 cutting recipes that make this mod's items, and Bread Slice is one of them.[3]

Pans and pots
The mod has pan meals such as Pan of Chicken, Pan of Lasagna and Pan of Beef Wellington, which are placed as blocks, plus an Empty Baking Pan block. The handbook also has a "Discovering Soup Recipes" page for the soup pots.[2]
Some dishes are cooked by smelting rather than crafting. The Pan of Chicken is made that way, and so are Eggs.[3]

Plates and serving
The handbook has a "Served Plate of Food" page about serving meals on plates. This pack changed both plate recipes: the Dinner Plate recipe and the Delftware Dinner Plate recipe each make 4 plates per craft.[2][3]

Crafting-table recipes
Most of the food is made in the crafting table. The dump counts 51 shapeless recipes that mix this mod's items with Minecraft and common-tag ingredients, and another 50 that use only this mod's items. Many use item tags, so matching items from other mods work too.[3]
Baked goods can make a lot at once. One craft of the Apple Cinnamon Muffin recipe gives 8 Apple Cinnamon Muffin.[3]

How do you progress through Mama's Herbs and Harvest?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Unverified The sources here show no quests in this pack that involve this mod, and it is not on the ATM Star quest path. There is no quest-guided order shown, so the steps below follow how the in-pack recipes build on each other.
Think of Mama's Herbs and Harvest as a cooking ladder. You start with crops and herbs, craft a few stations, then work up from simple conversions to baked goods and finally to pots, pies and salads that combine many ingredients.[4]
First rung: seeds and chopped herbs
Your first step is turning harvested crops into seeds. In this pack, Asparagus, Barley, Blackberry, Blueberry, Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower and Celery each have a crafting recipe that gives their own seeds.[4]
The other crops listed above follow the same one-item pattern.
Fresh herbs are chopped in the crafting grid, one fresh herb per chopped herb. Chopped herbs matter later: Chopped Thyme, Chopped Parsley, Chopped Sage and Chopped Bay Leaves are used in the pies, soups and stuffing further up the ladder.[4]
Next rung: stations and tools
Next come the craftable pieces of kit: the Butter Churn, the Cake Stand, the Cheese Aging Shelf and the Wood Board. The recipes below show how to build them.[4]

The Wood Board is also used in the Charcuterie Board recipe.
Simple foods and building blocks
Several recipes are single-step conversions that feed bigger dishes. Bread Slice is made from bread, Barley Slice and Barley Bread are made from barley, and Cooked Sausages are made from Cooked Sausage. Chips and Blackberry Jam also have short recipes.[4]
The bagel line is a good example of stacking. You craft a Bagel, turn it into a Bagel with Cream Cheese, and then into a Bagel with Salmon.[4]
Crafting Shapeless
- any bagel food
Cream Cheese
- any raw salmon food
- any lemon food
Fresh Dill
- any pepper item
Recipe id: herbsandharvest:bagel_with_salmon
Baked goods
Pies, muffins, cakes and cheesecakes are the middle of the ladder. Many of them use Ground Cinnamon, such as Blueberry Pie, Blueberry Muffin, Cherry Pie and Carrot Cake. The cheesecakes use Graham Crackers.[4]
Crafting Shapeless
Wheat
- any butter food
Blueberry
- any sugar item
Ground Cinnamon
Recipe id: herbsandharvest:blueberry_pie
Top of the ladder: pots, pot pies and salads
The top rung is the multi-ingredient meals. These pull in chopped herbs plus several vegetables or meats, and the soups and stews are built around an Empty Pot. Examples are Pot of Beef Stew, Pot of Chicken Noodle Soup, Pot of Broccoli and Cheddar Soup, Chicken Pot Pie, Beef Pot Pie and Cornbread Stuffing.[4]

Platters like the Charcuterie Board also sit near the top, since the recipe builds on the Wood Board from the stations step.[4]
