What is Mama's Herbs and Harvest?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 7.0 guide
Mama's Herbs and Harvest is part of this pack, shipped as version 1.21.1-12 (the file herbsandharvest-1.21.1-12.jar). It isn't a new addition. It has been in the modlist since pack version 2.25 or earlier, so it's a settled part of the lineup.[1]
Unverified What the mod adds, who it's aimed at and where it fits in the pack's progression can't be confirmed yet, so those details are left out. Look the mod up in-game with a recipe viewer to see its items and recipes. This site does hold All the Mods 10: To the Sky's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with Mama's Herbs and Harvest?
3 parts
Welcome to Mama's Herbs and Harvest! In this pack the mod turns crops into ingredients for meals and baked goods. Here's the order I'd tackle things in, using the real in-pack recipes.[2]
Turn crops into seeds
Start with a farm. Seeds come from the crops themselves in this pack: the recipe dump has seed recipes for Blueberry, Blackberry, Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Celery and Asparagus. The item tooltips for several of these crops also name the seed they give.[2][3]
The other crops listed above follow the same one-item pattern.
Asparagus works the same way.
Barley and your first bread
Barley is a handy early crop because it does more than one job: you can craft it into seeds, or into a loaf and then into slices.[2]

Plain bread works too. Crafting bread gives you a Bread Slice, which is an ingredient in the Beef and Cheddar Sandwich.[2]
Craft the basic stations
Next, make the utility items. They are all built from plain wood parts. The Wood Board is also an ingredient in the Charcuterie Board.[2]

Why bother? Butter and the Aged Cheddar Wedge are used in later recipes, such as the Blueberry Pie and the Beef and Cheddar Sandwich.[2]
A good first baking goal once your berries are growing.
Unverified The sources here include no in-mod guidebook and no quests for this mod, so how the Butter Churn and Cheese Aging Shelf are used is not shown here.
How does Mama's Herbs and Harvest work?
5 parts
Here's the honest picture first: the sources I have for this mod don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or pipe-style automation. There's nothing to set up or wire together. What they do show is a farming-and-cooking mod where everything I can confirm runs through crops, seeds, dairy and ordinary crafting recipes.[2][3]
Crops and seeds
Crops carry a tooltip that names the seed they give. Asparagus, Blackberry and Blueberry each point to their own seeds, and so do other crops such as broccoli, cucumber, pineapple, raspberry, strawberry and zucchini.[3]
In this pack you can also make seeds yourself. Asparagus, barley, blackberry and blueberry each have a one-ingredient crafting recipe that turns the harvested crop into its seeds, so you can replant from your own harvest.[2]
In this pack, barley turns straight into seeds with a single-ingredient shapeless recipe.
Herbs
Herbs work as their own crop blocks. The tooltips list bay leaf, cilantro, lemongrass, peppercorn and rosemary crops, each giving a fresh herb. Bay leaf, lemongrass, peppercorn and rosemary also have a placeable herb block that shows its seed type.[3]
Herb-style ingredients then turn up in the cooking recipes. For example, Chopped Thyme, Chopped Sage, Ground Peppercorn and Fresh Dill all appear as ingredients in the pack's recipes.[2]
Dairy types
Cheeses show a Dairy Type line in their tooltip. Feta Wedge lists Camel and Goat. Aged Parmesan lists Cow and Goat, aged Swiss lists Goat and Sheep, and ricotta lists Camel and Sheep. The raw Parmesan and raw Swiss items carry the same lines as their finished versions.[3]
The sources don't say how the cheese is made or how the animal type is chosen, so I won't guess at the process.[3]
Cooking is crafting-table based
Every recipe I can see for this mod is a standard crafting recipe, mostly shapeless. No special cooking station shows up in the sources. You combine the ingredients in the crafting grid, and the site shows the exact in-pack recipe for each dish.[2]
Several baked goods and desserts accept any item from the mod's milk tag instead of one specific milk, so you have some flexibility there. Apple Cinnamon Muffin, Blueberry Muffin and Black Forest Cake are examples.[2]
Some recipes use a container item as an ingredient. The Pot of Beef Stew starts from an herbsandharvest:cook_pot, and the Blackberry Jam uses a Spice Jar Item.[2]
Dishes can also chain. Barley Bread comes from barley in a shaped recipe, and a second recipe turns the loaf into Barley Slices. The Bagel recipe feeds into the Bagel with Cream Cheese recipe in the same way.[2]

Full meals
The tooltips also name pan meals, such as Garlic Chicken with Lemon, Lamb Chops with Mint, Lasagna with Caesar Salad, Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes and Beef Wellington with Mashed Potatoes and Vegetable Medley. The sources don't include their recipes, so I can't tell you how they're made here.[3]
Unverified No config files, in-jar guidebook or official documentation were available for this mod, so crop growth settings, yields, cheese-making steps and any machines or multiblocks are unverified here.
How do you progress through Mama's Herbs and Harvest?
5 parts
Mama's Herbs and Harvest doesn't have formal tiers like a tech mod does. Your progression is a chain of ingredients, and each step builds on the one before it. Below is the order I'd work through it, based on the in-pack recipes. The recipe list I had was cut off, so this covers the main chains rather than every item.[2]
Seeds and chopped herbs
Everything starts with crops and herbs. Harvested crops such as Asparagus, Barley, Blackberry, Blueberry, Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower and Celery each have a seed recipe in the pack, so once you have a crop you can replant it.[2]
The other crop-to-seed recipes in the pack follow the same pattern.
Fresh herbs (basil, bay leaf, chive, cilantro, dill, lemongrass, mint, mustard, oregano, parsley, rosemary, sage and thyme) each have a crafting recipe that turns them into their chopped version. The chopped herbs show up in the savory recipes later, so it pays to get a few herbs growing early.[2]
Kitchen equipment
Next you build the stations and containers. The herbsandharvest:cook_pot matters most, because the soup and stew recipes in the pack use it as an ingredient. The pack changed this recipe, so don't rely on what you remember from other modpacks.[2]

The Butter Churn, Cake Stand and Cheese Aging Shelf are the other stations to build. The Wood Board is needed for the charcuterie board later.[2]

Simple bakes
Once you have grain, butter and spices, you can start on baked goods. Begin with Barley Bread and its Barley Slice, then try Blueberry Pie and Cinnamon Roll.[2]

Dairy and layered dishes
Dishes built from other mod foods are the next step. Cream Cheese and Cream Bucket feed into Cheesecake and Blueberry Cheesecake. The bagel line is a neat ladder: Bagel, then Bagel with Cream Cheese, then Bagel with Salmon. Aged cheeses such as Aged Cheddar Wedge also go into sandwiches like Beef and Cheddar Sandwich.[2]
Pots, pies and boards
The biggest recipes are the pot dishes, such as Pot of Beef Stew, Pot of Chicken Noodle Soup and Pot of Broccoli and Cheddar Soup, plus the pot pies Chicken Pot Pie and Beef Pot Pie. The Charcuterie Board is the other big recipe here. The recipes below show exactly what they need in this pack.[2]
