What is Mama's Herbs and Harvest?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 5.5 guide
Mama's Herbs and Harvest is part of this pack, which ships version 1.0.0 of the mod. It has been in the pack since version 2.25 or earlier, so it's been around for a good while.[1]
Unverified No details on what Mama's Herbs and Harvest adds, which crops or herbs it includes, or who it's aimed at could be confirmed for this pack. The name suggests a farming and food-focused mod, but check it out in-game before relying on that.
Unverified The mod doesn't appear to be part of the ATM Star path, and no quests in the pack seem to involve it. That means it's likely an optional side mod you can explore at your own pace rather than something your progression depends on.
How do you get started with Mama's Herbs and Harvest?
1 part
The first thing to make in this pack is the herbsandharvest:empty_basket, which shows up in game as Produce Basket. It is the only recipe in the pack's recipe dump that makes an item from this mod, so there is no long crafting chain to plan around.[2][3]
A shaped crafting recipe that comes from the mod itself, with a single ingredient.
What else the mod adds
The mod's language file lists plenty you will meet later. There are crop seed blocks such as Tomato Seeds, Strawberry Seeds, Radish Seeds and Cabbage Seeds. There are herb seeds such as Basil Seeds, Mint Seeds and Thyme Seeds. There are fruit tree saplings such as Lemon Sapling, Orange Sapling and Peach Sapling.[3]
Many crops also have a matching basket block, for example the Tomato Basket and the Corn Basket.[3]
How does Mama's Herbs and Harvest work?
2 parts
This mod is about growing food, so don't expect machines, multiblocks or power here. The names the mod ships with show a set of growable blocks: crop plants that you start from seeds, herbs, fruit trees and a basket block for each crop.[3]
What you place and grow
- Crop plants such as asparagus, barley, broccoli, cabbage, corn, tomato and zucchini. Their blocks are named after their seeds, grains or kernels.[3]
- Herbs such as basil, chives, cilantro, dill, mint, oregano, rosemary, sage and thyme. Each one has a seed block and a separate placeable herb block.[3]
- Fruit trees such as avocado, cherry, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear and plum. Each one has a sapling block and a leaves block, and there is also a general Fruit Tree Leaves block.[3]
- Basket blocks named after the produce, for example Tomato Basket or Orange Basket.[3]
The Produce Basket
The empty herbsandharvest:empty_basket is the one item in this mod that the pack's recipe list shows being crafted. It uses a shaped crafting recipe from the mod itself, and the pack has not changed it.[2][3]
Unverified The sources don't explain how growth, harvesting or the filled baskets work, so those details aren't covered here.
How do you progress through Mama's Herbs and Harvest?
The recipe data for this pack shows only one in-pack recipe that makes an item from Mama's Herbs and Harvest: the herbsandharvest:empty_basket. It is a plain crafting table recipe, so you can make it right away.[2]
The in-pack recipe for the Produce Basket.
The sources here do not show any tiers or a step-by-step progression path for this mod, so there is nothing more to break down for now.[2]
