What is Chisel Reborn?
1 part
Chisel Reborn adds lots of blocks that are variations of vanilla blocks. This pack ships version 2.0.1+mc1.21.1, and the mod has been in the pack since 1.0 or earlier.[1][2]
The star of the mod is the Chisel. The pack's quest book says you right click with it to open its GUI, put up to a stack of blocks inside, pick the design you want, and take the blocks back out. You can also left click a block with the Chisel to change its design without opening the GUI. The quest also says this Chisel has no durability, so you can use it as much as you like.[3]
Where it sits in the quest book
The quest "Chisel Reborn" quest is in the Building Tips chapter, which has 67 quests. The chapter opens with "Building Tips!" quest, and "Tools!" quest comes right after it. After that comes "Changing Blocks" quest, which introduces mods that turn the blocks you already have into different shapes and designs. Chisel Reborn follows Changing Blocks, and its task is to get the Chisel.[3]
"Chipped" quest also follows Changing Blocks. It covers a different way of changing block designs, using stations instead of a handheld tool. The quest text for 34 of the chapter's quests is not shown in the sources I have, so for anything after Chisel Reborn, check the quest book itself.[3]
This mod is not on the ATM Star quest path, so you can treat it as an optional building tool.[3]
How do you get started with Chisel Reborn?
4 parts
Chisel Reborn adds lots of blocks that are variations of vanilla blocks, and the whole mod runs through one tool: the Chisel. Getting started is mostly about making that one item and learning its two ways of working.[1][3]
Step 1: Find the quest
In the quest book, open the Building Tips chapter. The path goes from "Building Tips!" quest to "Tools!" quest, then to "Changing Blocks" quest, and finally to "Chisel Reborn" quest. That last quest is the one that asks you for the Chisel.[3]
Step 2: Craft the Chisel
The pack changes this recipe from the mod's default, so use the one below and not what you remember from other packs.[4]
Step 3: Use it
- Right Click with the Chisel to open its GUI. Put up to a stack of blocks into it, choose the design you want, and take the blocks out. You can also leave them in the Chisel, though the quest says it doesn't see why you would.[3]
- Or skip the GUI: Left Click a block with the Chisel to change its design straight away.[3]
What else is in that group
The Chisel Reborn quest sits next to several other block-changing quests that follow Changing Blocks: "Rechiseled" quest, "Chipped" quest, "Framed Blocks" quest and "Camol" quest. The Rechiseled quest asks for its own chisel, Chisel, so don't mix the two up. For the details of those mods, read their own quests.[3]
How does Chisel Reborn work?
1 part
Chisel Reborn is a block-variation mod, not a tech mod. It adds lots of blocks that are variations of vanilla blocks, so there are no machines, multiblocks, power or fluid systems to set up.[1]
The language file shows how those variations are organised. Each style comes in versions for many base materials: Array, Braid and the Chaotic styles (Chaotic Bricks, Medium Chaotic and Small Chaotic) are all offered for stone, concrete colours, sandstone and more. Braid also covers the wooden planks. Other styles have fewer versions, such as Bubble Glass and Bubble Stone, or Bismuth Diamond Block and Bismuth Emerald Block.[5]
Getting the tool
Everything starts with the Chisel. The pack changes its recipe from the mod's default, so use the in-pack recipe below rather than anything you remember from other modpacks.[4]
Unverified How the chisel's screen lets you pick a variant, and any further mechanics such as durability or automation, are not explained in the sources available for this guide.
How do you progress through Chisel Reborn?
3 parts
Progression for this mod is short: the pack's recipe dump shows one recipe that makes a Chisel Reborn item, the Chisel. So the job is getting that one tool and learning how to use it.[4]
Where it sits in the quest book
The Chisel Reborn quest lives in the Building Tips chapter. The path goes "Building Tips!" quest, then "Tools!" quest (which starts you off with a stick), then "Changing Blocks" quest, and finally "Chisel Reborn" quest, which asks you to get the chisel.[3]
Changing Blocks is about turning blocks you already have into ones with different shapes and designs. Other quests hang off it too: "Chipped" quest, "Framed Blocks" quest, "Camol" quest and "Rechiseled" quest.[3]
Crafting the chisel
The pack changed this recipe, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults. Here is the exact in-pack version:[4]
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | any iron ingot |
| Empty slot |
Recipe id: chisel:chisel
This recipe is marked as changed by the pack.
Using it
- Right click with the chisel to open its GUI. You can put up to a stack of blocks into it, pick a design, and take the blocks back out. You can also just leave them in the chisel.[3]
- Left click a block with the chisel to change its design directly, without opening the GUI.[3]
Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Chisel Reborn?
3 parts
Chisel Reborn has one quest in the pack, and it sits in the Building Tips chapter, which has 67 quests. The chapter is a tour of building mods, so this one is a short stop rather than a long questline.[3]
The path to the Chisel quest
- Start with "Building Tips!" quest, the opening quest of the chapter.[3]
- Next is "Tools!" quest, which follows the opening quest. It asks you for a Stick.[3]
- After the Tools quest comes "Changing Blocks" quest. It is about mods that turn blocks you already have into different shapes, designs or entirely new blocks.[3]
- Finally, "Chisel Reborn" quest follows Changing Blocks. It asks you to get the Chisel.[3]
What the quest tells you
The quest describes the mod as based on Chiseled. Right click with the Chisel to open its GUI. There you can put in up to a stack of blocks, pick the design you want and take them back out, or leave them in the Chisel.[3]
You can also left click a block with the Chisel to change its design without opening the GUI. The quest points out that this Chisel has no durability, so you won't wear it out.[3]
Neighbouring quests
The Chisel Reborn quest is one of several that unlock after Changing Blocks. The others are "Chipped" quest, "Rechiseled" quest, "Camol" quest and "Framed Blocks" quest. They cover other ways of changing or disguising blocks, so you can do them in any order after Changing Blocks.[3]
What changed in Chisel Reborn between versions?
1 part
Chisel Reborn has been in the pack since All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.0 or earlier. Version 2.0.4 of the pack ships Chisel Reborn 2.0.1+mc1.21.1.[2]

Unverified No pack changelog entries for Chisel Reborn were available, so changes the pack itself made to the mod between releases are unconfirmed.
