What is PKGBadges / CobbleBadges?

2 parts

PKGBadges, also called CobbleBadges, is a Cobblemon add-on that brings Pokémon Gym Badges into your world. The idea is to make earning badges more fun when you play alongside Cobblemon, and to let you reward your friends after battles.[1]

It covers badges from every region of the Pokémon series: Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar and Paldea.[1]

Who it is for

This mod is for you if you like the gym-challenge side of Pokémon. It suits a server or a group of friends where one person acts as a gym leader and hands out badges after a battle. It is a fun extra rather than something you need to progress.[1]

In this pack

The pack ships PKGBadges / CobbleBadges version 7.0.[2]

Unverified No quests in this pack involve this mod, and it is not on the ATM Star quest path. No in-jar guidebook was found either, so details such as how badges are crafted or awarded are not confirmed here.

How do you get started with PKGBadges / CobbleBadges?

4 parts

PKGBadges (CobbleBadges) adds Pokémon gym badges from every region, Kanto through Paldea, so you can reward your friends after Cobblemon battles. In this pack the crafting side is all custom recipes, so here is what you can make first and in what order.[1][3]

One honest note before we start: the sources I have don't explain what each item does in play. I can show you the real in-pack recipes and a sensible order, but not the mechanics behind them.[1][3]

First, the workshop

Start with the PokéFashion Workshop. It is the mod's own station, and the pack adds a custom recipe for it, so it is the natural first craft.[3]

Next, fabrics

Next come the fabrics. The pack adds one recipe per color, and you can make Black, Blue, Brown, Cyan, Dark Blue, Gray, Green, Lime Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, White and Yellow. Start with a color you like, for example White Fabric.[3]

Shapeless (kubejs)

Dark Blue Fabric has a slightly different recipe from the other colors, so check it before you craft.[3]

Then, hat templates

The Hat Template is the base item for the hat line. It is crafted from simple materials with a shaped recipe.[3]

Once you have a Hat Template, you can upgrade it into the Trilby Hat Template with a shapeless recipe.[3]

Tip: All of these recipes are added by the pack, so follow the recipe blocks above rather than any recipe you remember from the standalone mod.[3]

A badge conversion

The pack also adds a recipe that turns The Rising Badge into The Rising Badge. Both items show the same name, The Rising Badge, so don't be surprised if they look identical in your inventory.[3]

Unverified No quests in this pack involve the mod, and no in-jar guide or tooltips were available, so how you obtain the gym badges themselves is not confirmed here.

How does PKGBadges / CobbleBadges work?

3 parts

Good news and bad news, viewer. PKGBadges (CobbleBadges) is a Cobblemon add-on built around Pokémon Gym Badges from Kanto through Paldea, which you can use to reward your friends after battles. The sources I have don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or automation for it, so I won't invent any.[1]

Unverified Whether the mod has any power, fluid or item-automation mechanics, or any multiblock structures, could not be confirmed. No in-jar guidebook, official documentation, lang-file descriptions or config files were available for this mod in the pack.

The PokéFashion Workshop

The one station-style item in the sources is the PokéFashion Workshop. In this pack its recipe is added by a KubeJS script, so it's the pack's own recipe and not necessarily the mod's default.[3]

Fabrics and hat templates

The mod's fabrics come in many colors, such as Red Fabric, Blue Fabric and Lime Green Fabric. In this pack each one is a shapeless recipe added by the pack. The red one below shows the pattern the other single-color fabrics follow.[3]

Dark Blue Fabric is the exception. Its recipe also needs a dye on top of the wool and string.[3]

The Hat Template is a shaped recipe added by the pack. The Trilby Hat Template is a shapeless recipe that takes a Hat Template as one of its inputs.[3]

Badge conversion

The pack adds a shapeless recipe that turns The Rising Badge into The Rising Badge. The recipe id mentions Indigo, and both items show the same name, The Rising Badge. So keep an eye on the item ids if you're checking which one you're holding.[3]

Tip: Since the mod's systems aren't documented in the sources, the safest way to learn the PokéFashion Workshop is to craft it and try it in-game. The recipes above are the pack's confirmed values.[3]

How do you progress through PKGBadges / CobbleBadges?

4 parts

This section is short, and here's why. In this pack the mod's progression is a crafting chain rather than a set of tiers. The recipes below are what the sources confirm, and the pack added every one of them.[3]

Unverified The sources here show no quests involving this mod, so a quest-driven path is unverified. Check the pack's quest book if you want to know whether anything points you to it.

Build the workshop

The starting point is the PokéFashion Workshop. The pack adds a shaped recipe for it, so you can craft it yourself.[3]

Make fabrics

The pack adds a crafting recipe for each fabric color. These are all the fabrics with a recipe.[3]

Most fabrics are a simple shapeless craft built around a single wool color. Dark Blue Fabric is the exception and needs an extra input, so check its recipe before you batch-craft.[3]

Hat templates

Hat templates chain together. You craft the Hat Template first, and then a shapeless recipe uses it to make the Trilby Hat Template.[3]
