What is PKGBadges / CobbleBadges?

2 parts

PKGBadges, also called CobbleBadges, is a Cobblemon add-on built around Pokémon gym badges. It gives you badges to earn and hand out, so gym battles in your world feel a lot more like the real games.[1]

The project page pitches it as a way to reward your friends after battles. That makes it a good fit if you run gym-style challenges, either as the gym leader or as the challenger chasing a full set.[1]

Which badges are included

The mod covers badges from across the Pokémon series, from Kanto all the way to Paldea. The regions listed are Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar and Paldea.[1]

In this pack

The pack ships PKGBadges / CobbleBadges version 7.0 (PKGBadges-7.0.jar). It has been in the pack since 0.3.0-beta or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the mod list rather than a recent addition.[2]

It's a fun extra for Cobblemon battles rather than something you need to progress. You can use it for friendly gym challenges or for rewarding other players whenever you like.[1]

Unverified No quests, ATM Star path steps, in-jar guidebook, recipes or config options for this mod were found in the available sources. How you actually obtain or award the badges in this pack is unverified.

How do you get started with PKGBadges / CobbleBadges?

1 part

PKGBadges (also called CobbleBadges) adds Pokémon gym badges to Cobblemon. The idea is that you can reward your friends after battles. Badges from every region are available: Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar and Paldea.[1]

Step 1: Craft the PokéFashion Workshop

The first thing to make is the PokéFashion Workshop. In this pack its recipe is a custom one added by the pack, so follow the in-pack recipe below rather than any recipe you remember from elsewhere.[3]

It is the only item from this mod with a recipe shown in the pack's recipe dump, which makes it the starting point for everything else in the mod.[3]

How does PKGBadges / CobbleBadges work?

3 parts

This is a short section on purpose. The sources for this mod don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item handling, or automation, so I'm not going to invent any. From what the mod's project page says, it's built around Pokémon gym badges for Cobblemon, not around technical machinery.[1]

What the mod is about

The project page describes the mod as a way to hand out Pokémon gym badges alongside Cobblemon, so you can reward your friends after battles. It covers badges from every region: Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar and Paldea.[1]

The one thing the pack documents: the PokéFashion Workshop

The pack has a crafting recipe for the PokéFashion Workshop. It's a shaped recipe added by the pack through KubeJS, so this is the pack's own recipe and not something you should assume comes from the mod by default. Here is the exact in-pack recipe:[3]

What I can't confirm

Unverified What the PokéFashion Workshop does once it's placed, and how badges are awarded or handed out in practice (commands, items, GUIs or permissions), is not explained in the available sources. The mod has no in-jar guidebook, no usable lang descriptions and no config files in the pack, so there are no documented settings to tune. Whether the mod involves any power, fluid or item-automation mechanics is also unverified.

How do you progress through PKGBadges / CobbleBadges?

1 part

The only thing the sources confirm for this mod in the pack is one crafted item, the PokéFashion Workshop, so this section stays short.[3]

Getting the PokéFashion Workshop

The pack adds its own shaped crafting recipe for the PokéFashion Workshop through KubeJS. Because it comes from the pack, don't assume it matches what the mod does by default. Here is the exact in-pack recipe:[3]

Unverified The sources here do not show any quests, tiers or unlock order for this mod, so none are described. Check the pack's quest book for anything beyond the recipe above.

What changed in PKGBadges / CobbleBadges between versions?

1 part

All the Mons 1.0.1 ships with PKGBadges / CobbleBadges version 7.0. The mod was first included in All the Mons 0.3.0-beta or earlier.[2]

Version 7.0

The mod's own changelog for 7.0 is short. Its headline additions are:[4]

  • New clothes[4]
  • New badge boxes[4]
  • New trophies and more[4]

The changelog also asks players to report any errors they find.[4]
