What is Pipez?
3 parts
Pipez is the pack's simple logistics mod. It adds highly configurable pipes that are designed to cause as little lag as possible. You get Item Pipe, Fluid Pipe and Energy Pipe. Gas Pipe is there for Mekanism gases, and Universal Pipe combines all four types in one pipe.[1]
The pack ships Pipez 1.2.31 for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge.[2]
Who it's for
If you want to move items, fluids, energy or gas without building a big automation setup, this is for you. The pack's own quest calls it the simplest logistics mod, and says it can still get laggy in mass but is not as laggy as Mekanism pipes. It also has a filter system if you want to get fancier later.[1][3]
Where it fits in the pack
Pipez is introduced in the Basic Logistics quest chapter, starting with "Pipez" quest and the Pipe Wrench. From there it branches into "Item Pipez" quest, "Fluid Pipez" quest, "Energy Pipez" quest and "Gas Pipez" quest. "Universal Pipez" quest unlocks after the fluid, item and energy quests.[3]
Energy pipes also show up in the Basic Power chapter, in "Pipez: Energy Pipes" quest, which follows Transferring Power. An early quest in the New Beginning chapter lists the energy pipe as one of several ways to move energy between machines, alongside cables and conduits from other mods.[4][5]
The basics
- Place a pipe so it connects to the inventory or machine you want to pull from.[1][3]
- Sneak-click the end of the connected pipe with a wrench to set it to extract.[1][4]
- Click the extracting part of the pipe to change modes, add filters or add upgrades.[1]
- Sneak-click with a wrench to disconnect or reconnect a pipe side.[1]
Pipes are slow by default, and upgrades are how you speed them up. The pack's upgrade quests cover Basic Pipe Upgrade, Improved Pipe Upgrade, Advanced Pipe Upgrade and Ultimate Pipe Upgrade. The quests say they increase how much the pipes move and unlock more options. For filters tied to a specific destination you'll also want the Filter Destination Tool.[1][3][4]
Unverified The mod's project page says redstone modes need a Basic upgrade, distribution modes an Improved upgrade, and filters an Advanced upgrade. The pack's upgrade quests say a Basic upgrade already unlocks all of these, while the filter quest says you need at least an Advanced upgrade. Which tier unlocks what in this pack is unconfirmed.
How do you get started with Pipez?
6 parts
Pipez is the pack's simple logistics mod for moving items, fluids, energy and gas between machines and inventories. The quest book calls it the simplest logistics mod, and the whole mod fits on one quest page. Start with the "Pipez" quest quest in the Basic Logistics chapter and work through the steps below in order.[3]
Make the Pipe Wrench first
Craft the Pipe Wrench first, because you use it to set which side of a pipe pulls, pushes or doesn't connect. Other wrenches also work with Pipez, so you can use one you already have.[3][6]

Make an Item Pipe
The Item Pipe is the easiest pipe to start with. It moves items from one inventory to another, for example from a chest to a chest, from a farm into your system, or from a quarry to a smelter.[3]

Connect the pipes to the blocks you want to link, then use the wrench to choose which side pulls from the inventory.[3]
Add a Basic Upgrade for speed
Pipes are fairly slow by default, and upgrades are the only way to speed them up. A higher upgrade tier means a higher transfer rate. Make a Basic Pipe Upgrade first. The tiers above it are Improved Pipe Upgrade, Advanced Pipe Upgrade and Ultimate Pipe Upgrade.[1][3]

The quest book says every upgrade increases the amount the pipe moves and gives more options. The Basic Upgrade allows redstone activation and lets you change the distribution between Closest First, Farthest First, Round-Robin and Random. Improved, Advanced and Ultimate don't add anything new, they just move more.[3][4]
Pick the pipe for what you're moving
- Fluid Pipe moves fluids such as water and lava. The quest says it can be connected to sinks to move infinite water.[3]
- Energy Pipe moves energy and doesn't care what kind. Some machines have strict energy IO ports, so check those. Place the pipe next to the block, then shift-right-click the connected side with the wrench to set it to extract.[3][4]
- Gas Pipe is for gases such as Hydrogen. The quest says the other pipes can't move gas, and that this pipe exists mostly because of Mekanism.[3]

The pack changed this recipe from the mod's default.
If you're not sure whether a Mekanism resource is a gas or a fluid, the quest suggests checking the machine it's in, or looking it up in JEI.[3]
For energy, the energy pipe also appears in the New Beginning chapter as one of several ways to move power. Not every mod shares energy automatically like Mekanism does, and for Pipez you need a wrench on each end to set which side pushes and which pulls.[5]
Combine them into a Universal Pipe
The Universal Pipe moves items, fluids or energy through one pipe, so you don't have to worry about what is passing through. In the quest book, "Universal Pipez" quest comes after the Fluid, Item and Energy Pipez quests. The project page adds that its GUI has tabs on the left to choose which pipe type you're configuring.[1][3]

Filter with the destination tool
Pipez has its own filtering. The filter quest says you need at least an Advanced Upgrade for it, and then you click the Add button to add filters by item, tag or NBT. Each filter can be set to whitelist or blacklist.[3]
When you want a filter to apply to one specific destination, craft the Filter Destination Tool. Shift-right-click an inventory with it to store the destination, then put the tool in the destination slot of the filter GUI.[1][3]

How does Pipez work?
7 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Pipez is all about moving things from A to B without lag. In this pack you get Item Pipe, Fluid Pipe, Energy Pipe and Gas Pipe. The gas pipe works with Mekanism. The Universal Pipe combines all four in one block. Everything is set up through a wrench and upgrades, so let's go through how it works.[1]

Pipes only move things when they extract
This catches a lot of people out: a pipe doesn't transfer anything unless it is set to extract. The mod also keeps lag low on purpose. Only extracting pipes have block entities, and pipes don't load unnecessary chunks.[1]
- Craft a Pipe Wrench and connect your pipes between the source and the destination.[1][8]
- Sneak-click the end of a connected pipe with the wrench to set it to extract.[1]
- Click the extracting part of the pipe to change modes, add filters or add upgrades.[1]
- To disconnect or reconnect a pipe side, sneak-click it with the wrench.[1]

Speed and upgrades
Pipes are relatively slow by default, and you raise the speed by adding an upgrade. A higher upgrade tier means a higher transfer rate. The pipe's tooltip shows its current rate: FE per tick for energy, mB per tick for fluids and gas, and a number of items per a number of ticks for item pipes.[1][9]
The mod has five upgrade tiers: Basic Pipe Upgrade, Improved Pipe Upgrade, Advanced Pipe Upgrade, Ultimate Pipe Upgrade and Infinity. The mod describes Infinity as not craftable by default. The recipes for the other four are shown below.[1][8]

Upgrades also unlock features, so a bare pipe can't do everything:[1]
- Basic Pipe Upgrade: redstone modes (ignore, on when powered, off when powered).[1][8]
- Improved Pipe Upgrade: distribution modes (round robin, nearest first, furthest first, random).[1][8]
- Advanced Pipe Upgrade: filter modes and filters.[1][8]
Every setting you change and every filter you add is stored in the upgrade itself. To copy that data onto other upgrades, craft them together.[1]
Filters
Filters work with item pipes, fluid pipes and gas pipes. You can combine several filters on one pipe, and each filter can be a blacklist or whitelist. Filters can also be inverted with the paper button, which makes the filter apply to the exact opposite of what you entered (the destination stays the same). Filters can be copied, and the filter GUI offers tag filtering.[1]
- To add a specific object, click it onto the slot in the filter GUI, or type its ID in the text field next to the slot.[1]
- Tag entries are written with a # prefix, or you can use plain item IDs.[9]
- If the object has NBT data, the NBT string appears in a second text area. Delete that text if you don't want to match NBT.[1]
- The NBT button switches between matching the exact NBT data and matching only the tags you provided.[1][9]
- Some entry types can't have NBT tags at all, and the GUI tells you so.[9]
Per-filter destinations
A filter can apply to only one destination. For this you need the Filter Destination Tool. Click the block your pipe inserts into to store its location and face. Then put the tool in the destination slot of the filter GUI, and the destination block shows up in the filter list.[1][8][9]

Why Pipez is so light
The mod claims efficient rendering and a server-friendly design. Its project page compares Pipez item pipes against Mekanism's logistical transporters at about 4200 and about 7200 pipes. It says Mekanism's recursive connection algorithm crashes with a stack overflow at the larger size. That is the mod author's own claim, so I haven't tested it in this pack.[1]
How do you progress through Pipez?
5 parts
Pipez progression in this pack has two parts: unlock the pipe type you need, then upgrade it so it does more. The quest path starts in the Basic Logistics chapter with "Pipez" quest, which asks for the Pipe Wrench. The Item, Fluid, Gas and Energy pipe quests, the upgrade quest and the filtering quest all branch from it.[3]
Start with the wrench

Attach a pipe where you want to move things, then use the wrench to set each side to pull, push or not connect. Other wrenches also work with Pipez. To extract from a block, place the pipe next to it and shift+right-click the connected side with the wrench.[3][4]
The pipe types
- Item Pipe ("Item Pipez" quest): the simplest pipe. It moves items from one inventory to another, and you use the wrench to choose which side it pulls from.[3]
- Fluid Pipe ("Fluid Pipez" quest): moves fluids such as water and lava. The quest notes it can connect to sinks to move infinite water.[3]
- Gas Pipe ("Gas Pipez" quest): exists mostly because of Mekanism. The quest says gas can't be moved by any of the other Pipez, so you need this one for things like Hydrogen.[3]
- Energy Pipe ("Energy Pipez" quest): moves energy without caring about the type. Some machines have strict IO ports for energy, so check those.[3]
- Universal Pipe ("Universal Pipez" quest): the all-in-one pipe, which moves items, fluids or energy. Its quest unlocks after the Fluid, Item and Energy pipe quests.[3]
Energy pipes show up in two other chapters too. In Basic Power, "Pipez: Energy Pipes" quest leads into "Pipez: Upgrades" quest. In New Beginning, a quest in "New Beginning" accepts the Energy Pipe or cables and conduits from other mods. It says you need some sort of wrench on each end to set which side pushes and which pulls.[4][5]

Upgrade tiers
Upgrades are the real progression. Every upgrade increases how much the pipe moves and gives you more options. The Basic Upgrade unlocks redstone activation, the distribution modes (Closest First, Farthest First, Round-Robin or Random) and filters. Improved, Advanced and Ultimate add nothing new and just move more. The quest accepts any of the four upgrades.[3][4]
The tiers go Basic Pipe Upgrade, Improved Pipe Upgrade, Advanced Pipe Upgrade, then Ultimate Pipe Upgrade. In the recipes, the Improved, Advanced and Ultimate upgrades are each crafted from the tier before them.[7]

How does Pipez work with other mods?
4 parts
Pipez links up with other mods in two main ways in this pack: gas transport through Mekanism, and energy transport next to other mods' cables and conduits. The quest book covers both.[3][5]
Mekanism and Gas Pipes
The Gas Pipe exists mostly because of Mekanism. The quest explains that Mekanism adds gas as another state of matter, and that none of the other Pipez can move it. If you need to move something like Hydrogen or Lithium, this is the pipe you want. In the Basic Logistics chapter, the Gas Pipez quest comes right after the main Pipez quest.[3]
The pack changed the Gas Pipe recipe, and the new version uses a Mekanism material. Here is the exact in-pack recipe:[7]

| any iron ingot | any iron ingot | any iron ingot |
Recipe id: pipez:gas_pipe
This recipe is changed by the pack.
The mod itself also supports filtering by item, fluid and gas, so gas can be filtered like the other contents.[1]
Moving energy between mods
In the New Beginning chapter, a quest after "Power" accepts the Energy Pipe alongside cables and conduits from other mods. Any one of these items completes it: Basic Universal Cable, Energy Cable (Starter), Conduit Bundle or Energy Pipe. The quest points out that not every mod is like Mekanism, where machines simply share energy. Some mods need you to move it yourself, and Pipez, cables and conduits can all do that.[5]
Each machine and each pipe has its own configuration for where energy goes in and out. For Energy Pipes, you need a wrench on each end to set which side pushes and which pulls.[5]
The Energy Pipez quest says these pipes don't discriminate, whether the energy is FE, RF or something else. It also warns that some machines have strict IO ports for energy, so check those if nothing is moving.[3]
Wrenches from other mods
The Pipe Wrench is the wrench the quests point you to, but they also say that other wrenches work with Pipez. To make a pipe extract from a block, place it next to the block and shift+right-click the connected side with a wrench.[3][4]
Fluids and items from other mods
The quest for the Fluid Pipe notes that lots of mods have their own fluids, on top of Minecraft's water and lava, and that Fluid Pipes are a good way to move them. It also says you can connect them to sinks to move infinite water.[3]
The Item Pipe moves items from one inventory to another. The quest gives examples such as a chest to another chest, a farm to a system, or a quarry to a smelter.[3]
The Universal Pipe quest unlocks after the Fluid, Item and Energy Pipez quests. It says the Universal Pipe can move items, fluids or energy.[3]
Which All the Mons quests use Pipez?
3 parts
Pipez shows up in three quest chapters: Basic Logistics, Basic Power and New Beginning. Basic Logistics covers the whole mod, while the other two only touch the energy side.[3][4][5]
Basic Logistics
This chapter is the main Pipez page. Everything starts at "Pipez" quest, which asks you to get the Pipe Wrench. The quest explains that you attach a pipe where you want to move things, then use the wrench to set each side to pull, push or not connect. It also says other wrenches work with Pipez.[3]
Once that's done, six quests open up, all following the first one:[3]
- "Item Pipez" quest asks for the Item Pipe, which moves items from one inventory to another.[3]
- "Fluid Pipez" quest asks for the Fluid Pipe for moving fluids.[3]
- "Energy Pipez" quest asks for the Energy Pipe.[3]
- "Gas Pipez" quest asks for the Gas Pipe. The quest says gas can't be moved by any of the other pipes, and that these pipes exist mostly because of Mekanism.[3]
- a quest in "Basic Logistics" asks for the Filter Destination Tool. It covers Pipez filtering: you can filter by item, tag or NBT, set a destination with Shift Right Click on an inventory, and choose whitelist or blacklist.[3]
- a quest in "Basic Logistics" accepts any one of the Basic Pipe Upgrade, Improved Pipe Upgrade, Advanced Pipe Upgrade or Ultimate Pipe Upgrade.[3]
The last quest in the chapter is "Universal Pipez" quest, which asks for the Universal Pipe. It unlocks only after the Fluid, Item and Energy Pipez quests. The quest says it can move items, fluids or energy.[3]
The upgrades quest says the Basic Upgrade unlocks redstone activation, the distribution modes (Closest First, Farthest First, Round-Robin or Random) and filters. It says the Improved, Advanced and Ultimate upgrades don't add anything new and just move more.[3]
Unverified The filter quest says you need at least an Advanced Upgrade to use filters, but the upgrades quest says the Basic Upgrade already allows adding filters. The quest texts disagree, so check in-game which upgrade you need.
Basic Power
"Pipez: Energy Pipes" quest comes after the Transferring Power quest and asks for an Energy Pipe and a Pipe Wrench. To extract power from a block, place the pipe next to it and Shift+Right-Click the connected side with the wrench to set it to extract. The quest also mentions the Universal Pipe as an all-in-one option.[4]
It leads straight into "Pipez: Upgrades" quest, which takes any one of the four upgrade tiers and repeats the same upgrade explanation as the Basic Logistics chapter.[4]
New Beginning
This chapter has one relevant quest, a quest in "New Beginning". It comes after the Power quest and is about moving energy between machines that don't share it automatically. The Energy Pipe is one of several accepted items, and the task also takes cables or conduits from other mods. The quest says you'll need a wrench on each end of an Energy Pipe to choose which side pushes and which pulls.[5]
