Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals is a mod in All the Mons 1.3.0, where it is version 19.5.1. Ae2wtlib is an addon for ae2 that adds wireless versions of several Terminals (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals?

2 parts

Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals (ae2wtlib) is an addon that gives you wireless versions of several AE2 terminals, so you can reach your ME network without walking back to base. This pack ships version 19.5.1 of the mod.[1][2]

The mod covers the Wireless Crafting Terminal, the Wireless Pattern Encoding Terminal and the Wireless Pattern Access Terminal. Most wireless terminals from other addons also work with it. You can open them with a keybind, just like AE2's own wireless terminal.[3]

The big pieces

The Wireless Universal Terminal combines several wireless terminals into one item. A button in its UI cycles between the installed terminals. Each installed terminal adds 2 upgrade slots, and their energy storage adds up. Note that AE2's own Wireless Terminal can't be combined into it.[4]

The Quantum Bridge Card removes the range limit. Put the card and a singularity in your terminal, and put the other singularity in a Quantum Bridge on your network. The terminal then works from anywhere, even across dimensions, and recharges from your network. The chunks holding your network still need to be loaded, so keep your network energy storage topped up.[5]

The Wireless Crafting Terminal also adds restocking from your ME network and lets Pick Block draw items from it. With a Magnet Card installed, it also works as a magnet, with a default pickup range of 16.[6][7][8]

Where it fits in this pack

This mod is on the ATM Star path. The quest "Universal Wireless Terminal" quest unlocks after Applied Energistics and asks you to make the Universal Wireless Terminal. The quest text says to craft any Wireless Terminals and then craft them together. It also says the terminal keeps what you had on it, such as Extended Patterns.[9]

If you want unlimited range, the Applied Energistics 2 questline has a quest in "Applied Energistics 2" for the Quantum Bridge Card. It follows the Quantum Network Bridge and Wireless Terminals quests. The quest describes the card as an alternate way to get wireless interdimensional access to your system.[10]

How do you get started with Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals?

4 parts

This mod adds wireless versions of several Applied Energistics 2 terminals. The plan below goes from the first terminal to the upgrades that make it worth carrying.[1]

Make your first wireless terminals

Start with the Wireless Crafting Terminal. It is a wireless crafting terminal that also restocks items from your ME network and lets Pick Block pull items from the network when they aren't in your inventory.[7]

If you want to encode patterns on the go, you can make the Wireless Pattern Encoding Terminal directly or upgrade a Wireless Crafting Terminal into one.[3][11]

Merge them into the Universal Terminal

Once you have a couple of terminals, combine them into the Wireless Universal Terminal. The quest "Universal Wireless Terminal" quest says to craft any wireless terminals, then craft them together, and that the result keeps whatever was on the terminals, such as extended patterns.[9]

A button in the UI cycles between the installed terminals. Each terminal you add gives 2 upgrade slots, and the energy storage of the terminals is combined.[4]

Get unlimited range with the Quantum Bridge Card

The Quantum Bridge Card is the big range upgrade. Put the card and one Quantum Entangled Singularity in your terminal, and put the other singularity in a Quantum Bridge connected to your network. Your terminal then works from anywhere, even across dimensions, and recharges from your network.[5][10]

Watch out: Quantum linking only works while the chunks holding your network are loaded, so keep them loaded. Also make sure your network has enough energy storage, because the terminal recharges from it.[5]

The quest a quest in "Applied Energistics 2" covers this card. It comes after the Quantum Network Bridge and Wireless Terminals quests.[10]

Add the Magnet Card

The Magnet Card makes your terminal pick up items from a larger range and can send them straight into your ME system instead of your inventory. You can toggle and filter each behavior separately, and there is a keybinding to turn it on or off. The default pickup range is 16 and is configurable.[8]

The pack changed this recipe from the mod's default, so use the one below.[11]

Tip: Turn on Restock in the terminal GUI or with its keybind. It keeps the stack you're holding topped up from your ME system and returns extras to it. It works while you're in range of an access point or quantum linked, but it won't restock a stack that holds a single item before use.[6]

How does Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals work?

6 parts

Wireless Terminals (AE2WTLib) takes Applied Energistics 2 terminals and makes them portable. The systems worth knowing are the upgrade cards, restocking, and the Wireless Universal Terminal that merges several terminals into one item.[1][3][4][6]

Wireless terminals and the Universal Terminal

The mod adds wireless versions of several AE2 terminals, including the crafting terminal, the pattern encoding terminal and the pattern access terminal. You open them with a keybind, and they can go in a curio slot if a mod implementing the curio API is installed. You can also link them like a normal wireless terminal.[1][3]

The Wireless Universal Terminal combines multiple AE2WTLib terminals into one item. It adds a button to the terminal UI: left-click cycles to the next terminal and right-click goes back to the previous one.[3][4]

  • Each terminal you install adds 2 upgrade slots, and the Universal Terminal accepts the same upgrades as the terminals inside it.[4]
  • Energy storage is combined, so a Universal Terminal with two terminals holds twice the energy of a single Wireless Terminal.[4]
  • Most wireless terminals from other addons also work in the Universal Terminal.[3]

Wireless Crafting Terminal extras

Besides acting as a wireless crafting terminal, it improves Minecraft's Pick Block. If the item isn't in your inventory, it is drawn from your ME network. If your current slot happens to be full, it will also try to store items in the network.[7]

Its upgrade slots accept a card that increases battery capacity, the Quantum Bridge Card for unlimited range, and the Magnet Card for magnet functionality.[7]

Restocking

With Restock enabled, the terminal tries to replace items you use with items from the ME system. You can toggle it in the GUI or with a keybind. It tries to keep the stack you are holding at its maximum size, which is 64 for most items. Missing items are taken from the network, and excess items go back into it if you pick up more.[6]

That also means if you place a few blocks and then break them again, the items won't spill into a different slot. The hotbar count changes to show the amount in the network plus what is actually in your hotbar.[6]

  • It only works while you are in range of an access point, or if the terminal is quantum linked.[6]
  • It will not restock a stack that holds a single item before it has been used.[6]
  • It is disabled automatically in creative mode.[6]
  • Placing blocks, eating food and shooting a bow are covered. Other actions, especially ones from other mods, might not be recognized, so those items won't be restocked.[6]

Magnet Card

The Magnet Card is an upgrade card for the Wireless Crafting Terminal. It adds a magnet that you can toggle or filter in the GUI, and there is also a keybinding to switch it on or off.[7][8][12]

  • It picks up items from a larger range.[8]
  • It places picked-up items into the ME system instead of your inventory.[8]

You can toggle both functions separately and filter them separately, with a pickup filter and an insert filter. Either filter can be set to blacklist or whitelist mode. One of the GUI states reads "Magnet Off, Pickup to ME".[8][12]

Unverified The in-game guide says the magnet's pickup range is configurable with a default of 16. No config file for this mod is available for this pack, so the range this pack actually uses is unverified.

Quantum Bridge Card

The Quantum Bridge Card links a wireless terminal to a Quantum Bridge. It is what gives your terminal unlimited range, even across dimensions.[5][12]

  1. Put a Quantum Bridge Card and a singularity into your wireless terminal.[5]
  2. Put the other singularity of the pair into a Quantum Bridge connected to your network.[5]

Your terminal is then Quantum Linked: it can reach your network from anywhere and automatically recharges from the network's energy. Make sure the network has enough energy storage.[5]

Watch out: Cross-dimension access only works if the chunks containing your network are loaded, for example with a chunk loader.[5]

How do you progress through Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals?

3 parts

Progression for Wireless Terminals in this pack starts with the individual wireless terminals. These can be combined into a Wireless Universal Terminal, and upgrade cards such as the Magnet Card and the Quantum Bridge Card get more out of it.[3][5][8][9]

The individual wireless terminals

The Wireless Crafting Terminal is the wireless version of the crafting terminal. It adds automatic restocking from your ME network, and Pick Block can pull items from the network if they aren't in your inventory.[7]

Restocking tries to keep the stack you are using at its max size, and only works while you are in range of an access point or your terminal is quantum linked.[6]

Wireless Pattern Access Terminal is the wireless version of the ME Pattern Access Terminal. Here is its recipe in this pack:[3][11]

The Wireless Universal Terminal

The quest "Universal Wireless Terminal" quest is in the ATM Star chapter and unlocks after the Applied Energistics quest. It asks you to craft Wireless Universal Terminal. The quest says to craft any wireless terminals, then craft them together. The result keeps whatever was on the terminals, such as Extended Patterns.[9]

Once you have it, a button in the terminal UI cycles between the installed terminals. Left-click goes to the next one and right-click goes to the previous one.[4]

Each installed terminal adds 2 upgrade slots, and energy storage is combined. A Universal Terminal with two terminals has twice the energy storage of a single wireless terminal.[4]

Upgrade cards

Magnet Card is an upgrade card that adds a magnet to your terminal. It picks up items in a larger range (configurable, and the mod's default is 16) and can put them straight into your ME system instead of your inventory. Pickup and insert can be toggled and filtered separately, and there is a keybinding to turn it on or off.[8]

The pack changed the Magnet Card recipe from the mod's version, so use this one:[11]

The quest a quest in "Applied Energistics 2" in the Applied Energistics 2 chapter comes after the Quantum Network Bridge and Wireless Terminals quests. It asks for Quantum Bridge Card, an alternate way to get wireless interdimensional access to your AE system.[10]

You need a Quantum Bridge connected at your base and a Quantum Bridge Card in your terminal. The two are then bound together with a Quantum Entangled Singularity.[5][10]

How does Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals work with other mods?

4 parts

The wireless terminals in this pack are built on Applied Energistics 2 parts, and several other AE2 addons plug into them. Most of that connection happens through the Wireless Universal Terminal, which merges terminals into one item. The mod's own guide says most wireless terminals from other addons also work with it.[3][11]

Addon terminals in the Universal Terminal

The pack's quest for the Wireless Universal Terminal ("Universal Wireless Terminal" quest) tells you to craft any wireless terminals and then craft them together. It also says the terminal keeps what you had set up on it, such as Extended Patterns. In the recipe dump, these addon terminals have combine recipes with the AE2WTLib pattern terminals:[9][11]

The pack's recipe dump doesn't say what exactly was changed in those recipes, so check the recipe viewer in-game before you plan your crafting.[11]

Core AE2 parts

The pattern terminals are wireless takes on AE2 terminals. The Wireless Pattern Access Terminal relates to the ME Pattern Access Terminal, and the Wireless Pattern Encoding Terminal relates to the ME Pattern Encoding Terminal. The Dense Energy Cell and Wireless Receiver appear in both of those recipes. There is also an upgrade route that starts from the Wireless Crafting Terminal and brings in the Engineering Processor. The recipe blocks below show the exact in-pack crafting.[11]

Quantum Bridge Card

The Quantum Bridge Card gives your terminal wireless access to your system even across dimensions, as long as the chunks containing the network are loaded. AE2's ME Quantum Link Chamber and ME Quantum Ring are part of its recipe, shown below. The pack quest a quest in "Applied Energistics 2" says you need a Quantum Bridge at your base and the card in your terminal, then bind them with a Quantum Entangled Singularity.[5][10][11]

Which All the Mons quests use Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals?

3 parts

Two quests in the pack involve this mod. One sits in the Applied Energistics 2 chapter and the other in The ATM Star chapter. Both ask you to hand in a single item.[9][10]

Applied Energistics 2 chapter: Quantum Bridge Card

The quest a quest in "Applied Energistics 2" has no title in the quest book. It asks you to submit a Quantum Bridge Card. It unlocks after the Quantum Network Bridge and Wireless Terminals quests.[10]

The quest text describes the card as an alternate way to get wireless interdimensional access to your AE system. You need a Quantum Bridge connected at your base and a Quantum Bridge Card in your terminal. The two tunnels are then bound together with a Quantum Entangled Singularity, so you can reach your network wherever you go.[10]

The ATM Star chapter: Universal Wireless Terminal

The quest "Universal Wireless Terminal" quest asks you to submit a Wireless Universal Terminal. It unlocks after the quest called Applied Energistics.[9]

The quest text says the recipe looks confusing but is easy. You craft any Wireless Terminals, then craft them together to make the Universal Wireless Terminal. It keeps whatever you had on the terminal, such as Extended Patterns. That helps with using AE2 but doesn't matter for the ATM Star itself.[9]

Suggested order

The Quantum Bridge Card quest comes after the Quantum Network Bridge and Wireless Terminals quests. The Universal Wireless Terminal quest comes after the Applied Energistics quest. That is all the quest data shows. How the two chains connect to each other is not shown.[9][10]

Unverified The quest data doesn't show whether the Universal Wireless Terminal quest has to be finished before the Quantum Bridge Card quest, or the other way round. It also doesn't show what rewards either quest gives.

What changed in Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals between versions?

All the Mons 1.3.0 ships Applied Energistics 2 Wireless Terminals 19.5.1. The mod has been in the pack since 0.3.0-beta or earlier, so you may have updated through several of the versions below without noticing.[2]

Here are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs, newest first. I don't have any pack changelog entries for this mod.[13][14][15][16]

  • 19.5.1 (the version in this pack): fixed S2C packets being registered as bidirectional.[2][13]
  • 19.5.0: added buttons to switch to terminals directly (#375). The changelog also lists a fix for a disconnect when restocking results in empty stacks (#371).[14]
  • 19.4.1: fixed a disconnect when restocking results in empty stacks (#371).[15]
  • 19.3.0: added a setting for pick block to request the item when it isn't available (#361).[16]
